This was a lovely recap. Your pictures (especially those of you with friends, makers, others) were so sweet. It was clear how much you enjoyed your time with everyone. I am hoping to get to Rhinebeck this year with a friend, and Sunday seems like a great day to me (because I prefer the quieter times). Love that you gave a shoutout to Michael (Piece4Peace Crafting) because he - like you - is a bright light in the making world, full of kindness, joy and enthusiasm. I am sure your family was thrilled to have you back! Thanks for sharing your experience.
A fabulous recap of the weekend. I am sorry I didn’t get to meet you. I was able to give Joanna a hug and she is so sweet. I live in Newburgh so I go to Rhinebeck every year, this year I also attended Indieuntangled and it was so much fun. Hop to meet you sometime, I just love your channel.

Excellent recap video Denise! Its always so nice to see my favorite sock tutorial teacher in a new vlog. And I follow Joanna too so its really fun for me to see the both of you together. She mentions you often as well in her vlogs. Its interesting how people can come together over a hobby from absolute opposite ends of a country, isn't it? It's really good to hear about that weekend after this time has passed; I think it took me several weeks to recover. It was my first fiber event and yes...overwhelming yet beyond amazing. I do't know how on your side of it all (with your events, and fame...) you manage so well. Thanks again for the great hug and not running when I shouted to you on the hill--who was I that day? 😂. I came alone from Florida but was honored to have Leanne and Liz (Cocktail Hour at the Coop) and friends look after me and I so hope I can come again another year (and do Indie Untangled). I am a new acquaintance of Paige and I agree that she is a great person to be around; I can see why you two are such good friends. Take care Denise and we will see you when we see you!
Denise, I so appreciate how thoughtful you are when speaking, how you choose your words. I had the pleasure of meeting Joanna at Sacred Sheep! I have followed her since she began her channel. I was born and raised in the North SF Bay Area and now live in Portland. Both you and Joanna bring me joy through your channels - thank you. How you described your fiber friendship is exactly how my knit group is. We are each other’s safe place. There are 12 of us, ages 22-84, and our bond is incredible. Some of us meet every Friday at a coffee shop in NE Portland and now we have the owners and employees invested in our making, our fiber choices and our progress!

I am so thrilled that you included our pic in your podcast, what a delightful surprise! Thank you so much Denise. It was really wonderful to meet you in person and I owe all of my sock adventures to you.😊 I greatly appreciate your very thoughtful comments on what happened at wool and folk. Vendors and sponsors were understandably, upset and angry, but one in particular, just can’t seem to let it go. Those who were financially impacted should take legal action and move on from here. And I understand that some have organized to do so. Just to be accurate, the New York sheep and Wool festival just had it’s 51st year. And someone told me that basically a vendor has to die off for another vendor to get in there, lol. I can’t wait to see more of your upcoming podcast and watch your tutorials. I also got sick after Rhinebeck, had bronchitis for about two weeks. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. @DrJoyceKnits

I have a goal to learn how to knit socks. Can you recommend a very simple pattern for beginners that is plus size, I have big calves 🙃. Thanks
Hi Sandra,
The simplest way to accommodate "plus size/big calves" is too add ribbing. 2x2 is a good place to start. I would do a search on Ravelry (if you are on that platform) or just online. I'm sure you'll find something that works for you.
I haven't followed the hullabaloo from the fiber festival per season but would have to be living under a rock to avoid it all. Having said that, I'm so very glad you put your usual positive spin on things. I can always count on you to be honest and open yet fair and kind. You're a special person Denise, I hope you know that.
