Curious....I have a lightning iPhone camera adapter with just a USB adapter. When I plug in the usb from the yeti to the camera adapter and then into my phone, it powers on the Yeti. Wondering why you need the extra USB port? The iPhone seems to power the yeti just fine without an external power source. Is it just to conserve iPhone battery power or is there another reason? Thanks 🙏
I have this question too! I have the camera adapter he has here but I’m wondering what that other black adapter is for if I can charge my phone with the white one. Still while using the mic
It's because the iPhone does not have enough power to feed the Yeti so it works properly. If you notice at 1:02 he plugged the USB power adaptor to a power outlet, it's not a regular USB hub. (Although I wonder if a regular USB hub would work too if connected to a powerbank and then all devices to it.)
Thank you so much for this video! It helped me so much setting up my set up for filming. I’m going very simple to start up my UA-cam art channel and using my iphone, blue yeti and iMovie to start out. Your video has been so helpful!
Hello I have a problem, maybe you can help me? When I’m recording video on iPhone using adaptor and blue yeti, I get not correct stereo in the video, I mean the left and right ears are switched, how can I fix it? Maybe I can use special app to switch them back? Without using special programs on computer or laptop? Thank you
@@YuriyMotso It's from a company called "Creative Destruction." I don't think the shirt is made anymore. There's a handful on eBay and Poshmark if anyone else is looking. :)
I just upgraded to an iPhone 15 pro and I'm plugging the Blue Yeti microphone directly into the iPhone (with a USB-C adapter). But the audio and video are ever-so-slightly out of synch. Is there an easy fix?
Please tell me how to solve the problem. I use GarageBand for real-time broadcasts by a third-party application. It amplifies the usb mic, but the effects are only sent to the microphone's earbuds and do not reach the desired application. How can you transfer effects to both headphones and app?
Is there a way to record on your phone with instrumental music playing as well. For for example, if I am recording a singing cover, can I sing over the music
Well, I did everything you showed in the video and my mic isn't picking up the sound from my camera when I record a video. I have an iPhone XR. Is there something I am missing?
Make sure you have the correct Lightning adapter, the wider one that says Lightning to USB-C "Camera" Adapter. If it's the skinny version that doesn't say "camera" it won't work because that one is only for powering the phone from USB-C sources and does not pass through data.
@@yikes7607 I was actually able to use my mic with the adapter with just the Lightning on one end and the USB on the other (plugged my mic into this end). What I noticed is that without using the mic, the playback has an echo sound to it.
@@dvalward Yeah, a lot of people said they had latency issues, I don't know if anyone was able to tweak their setup and solve the problems. Maybe there are videos here on YT with some solution.
@SwanCrowZen Very helpful! Thank you. I was going to try to use the mic through my iphone to record my audition self--tapes I send to agents. I thought it might give a better audio quality. I am going to keep testing to see what works better:)
Try unplugging it, closing application plugging it in before opening application and then start recording. I had that happen once while I was switching between apps and restarting everything got rid of it. Can’t remember for sure the steps I took to get rid of it but I think those were the ones.
Ok so how can you know for sure that the Yeti was picking up the finger snaps and not the on board microphone from the phone. You were very close to your phone when demonstrating????
When editing, I used the audio from the cropped video During that short few seconds when I was demonstrating with snapping my fingers. Because I record my voice over with the same Mic it seems like one continuous audio clip but it’s two separate but spliced audio clips.
@@YuriyMotso ty for the response. Much appreciated. I’ve been trying to get my Samson Mic’s to work and I finally figured it out last night. Wow what a difference!!!
Do you know if this set up will work to live steam video on Facebook? Thank you for the video. You are the first person I’ve found that said this works for video as well as just audio recording.
Thanks Jeff. I believe it will work for live streaming. Reason being is that once you have the microphone connected the phone would automatically use the external source to pick up audio just as in video recording. If you would like I can test it out and let you know.
Thanks for the video! Quick question, when you upload to UA-cam, isn't the sound quality still poorly affected because you're uploading it as one single file and therefore the compressing makes the audio worse? At the moment I record my audio and video separately, and then put them together in a video editing software, then upload to UA-cam. Using your method in this video, can I just upload it directly to UA-cam and the sound will be fine? The compressing won't ruin it? Sorry, I'm not much of a techie...
if you are trying to do live than I am not sure. But if you are recording the sound with the video together the quality is not very significantly altered. You can look at a few of my videos as I used this method for recording my stuff as my channel was growing and the audio is sufficient that most people will not notice. My current recording style is much different as I use a Gopro at the moment and I am not capable of using the Yeti mic for the current content. I do use the Yeti in post when I am doing a voice over. If you want to make your life easier than this method of recording with the mic directly to the cell phone is the way to go especially when your content is not heavily reliant on sound quality.
You can actually just plug the yeti into the power adapter
Nevermind. I had my headphones plugged into my mic and the sound was coming from there. This worked perfectly. Thank you so much for the video!

Yes having the same doubt.. was about to ask...
Couldn't you just plug a lightening cable into the iphone adapter for it to be a power adapter?
It probably wouldn’t be powerful enough.
No it doesn’t work with just lightning cable. Just tried! Now I need to get an adapter
That was clear and concise. Thank you.
Thank you.
What difference does the 4 port hub make? Can’t you just connect the Yeti cord straight to the lighting? Thanks for your time.

THE BEST AND MOST CLEAREST BREAKDOWN!
Is there a way to hook up headphones to hear yourself talk while recording?
Ive seen other videos where they connect it directly to the iphone adapter cable no power bank needed.
Yes I just use my iPhone charging cable instead and it works great! I record all of my ukulele videos this way
Can I plug in a second mic with this setup

Can I use any other power adapter? Sabrent aren't available here
Can you connect 2 yeti mics this way?
Awesome Video man! Thank you!
Please can I connect two yeti to my I iPhone 13 Pro Max with this same setup?
Does it work with headphone? Specifically, can you do live monitoring where you hear yourself thru the headphones as you record?
Yes you can plug in headphones to the headphone jack and listen to yourself
Can you use two mics ?
Thanks Yuriy, your clip was great, simple and clear. Would you please show us how to use BlueYeti with a MacBook ? Appreciate
I did everything you said and so cannot hear my Yeti. I still have to put headphones in to hear anything?
When I connect through my phone I can't use the headphones to hear audio in live streaming.. is there a way to fix that
Thanks mate too easy

Do you know if the Blue Yeti will work with an iPhone se and just the apple lightning to usb camera adapter ?

GarageBand, and pan the audio
Hello will this work both in video recording and live stream😊😊😊? Thanks
Yes, it will work for both.
How do you set up your yeti mic though? Like the reverb and all.
I need to get a video made on this. Sorry I been quite busy moving from Washington to Georgia.
Hi; I am new on this; after I have connected my Yeti Nano to my iPhone, is there a way to set the micro gain? Thanks in advance
