Thank you for such a detailed and transparent walk-thru of your set up. So many channels never show the issues from algae and the other problems associated with starting up a tank. I am setting up a 40 gallon tank myself and have been so inspired by yours! Thanks again!
Thanks for the input mate :), yea my Echinodorus just randomly seem to decide how they want to grow. THats great news, I have seen a lot of people say their SAE stopped eating algae but mine is constantly nibbling at stuff he finds growing in tank.
We definitely get our shrimp from the same seller on eBay 🤣 always packaged exactly the same way but easily the best I've found and cheaper than most sellers.
Too little plants for such a big tank.. get a lot of fast growing stem plants..too much nutrients in the tank and guess u have powerful light.Reduce the light timing and don’t use any fertilisers for sometime..

Cheers mate, glad its helping people :)
Great tank Shaun. The brown stuff that was growing on everything is brown diatom algae.
Cheers mate :)
well done. Echinodorus grow randomly even in the same tank. My SAE still are quite the algae eaters even at 4 +and 2+ yrs of age.
