Hello Lauren and family. Here in New Brunswick Canada, we loose on average about 9 to 16 days a winter for snow, ice and power outages. Sometimes it is called for a pending storm. Sometimes it misses us and people get bent out of shape. (officials due their best) .The excitement of waiting by the radio to see if school was going to be cancelled was a great memory for me and my kids. Predictions say this will be a snowier winter than in the past. Take care.
I taught school in John Day, Oregon, for years, and we had a few snow days! I grew up in a tiny mill town in eastern Oregon, and we had a lot of snow and cold weather. I sledded and ice skated growing up. I don’t miss it! I live in Central Oregon now. I’m still praying for all of you. Stay safe!
Truth about Texas lol. February 2022 was a rude awakening for Winter weather for us. We went 5 days with no water and 57 hours with no electricity. We bought what we needed as soon as that storm was over so now we are prepared. Thank goodness we did have a wood burning fireplace that kept us warm. The snow up there is beautiful
Blessings from 🇨🇦. We too in Alberta have very similar snow issues that you do in Alaska. Most of what you post is not new to me but I still enjoy hearing about it from your perspective. Thank you for sharing your life and family.
Thank you so much! I know that many have similar weather, but some do not understand snow at all. I know that you totally get it, thanks for being here for it all. Have a wonderful day!
Lauren, you look like you are a bit more rested. I hope you are and are getting the rest you need and deserve. Sending hugs and prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
Pretty much the same here in Minnesota…snowstorms just slow us down a bit. The Halloween Blizzard of 1991 we received over 30 inches & then we did shut down. No snow here yet but our days are numbered. Happy 🦃 Thansgiving Hamm Family! Love from Minnesota Laurie
It was good to get an update from you today. I pray for you daily and am so glad your Dad was able to come and help. I know that was such a blessing to all of you.
Miss Lauren my youngest granddaughter is learning so much from you. She enjoys the videos. She has been praying for you and the baby and the family. As for me as well prays for you and the family. God bless and take it easy. 🙏 ❤❤ much love Mary
Good to see you looking so good today Lauren. I'm always happy to see your posts. Greetings and best wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving. You and your family are always in my prayers. ❤ from Florida
Hi Lauren, I was so excited to see this post. You look great despite having had the flu. I also feel like you are more energetic and uplifted by our God. Actually you have a beautiful glow about you. Praying for all you and thinking about you every day.
Lauren you look great, much more relaxed. Your family has been on a roller coaster for a time but hopefully things will smooth out. A very happy thanksgiving, prayers for all. Our thanksgiv is very special this year as we welcomed my grandson and his wife a baby girl last week. This my first great grandchild and we are over the moon in love with her. Love to all💕🙏🦃
I'm in Canada. We don't get snow days even when it's icy. Kids are allowed to stay home but the schools have to be open and teachers have to get there even if it's dangerous. The schools are considered safety zones in case parents need to work and they'd end up leaving their kids home unsupervised.
Often i would like there to be some snowfall but that is mainly because we usually don't get that much and it doesn't have a big outcome like it would on your end. So sorry to hear that you guys got sick and had to deal with that. I hope everybody feels better by now !! Thank you for answering questions some of the viewers had ❤
I lived in upstate New York and we would stay in bed while we waited to hear if we had a snow day over the radio. When we were told the night before we were having a snow day it was the most wonderful! This was way before cell phones and personal computers in the 1980s. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family❤
I live in Melbourne, Australia. We never get snow so it’s really interesting to hear all about what it’s like living in that sort of environment. Maybe one day I’ll get there to find out!! You’re looking much better Lauren. You’ve got that gorgeous pregnancy glow 🥰🥰
I love your videos Lauren. Seeing your great attitude with all things that come your way. Being able to see those beautiful mountains every day is so wonderful for you and your followers! It’s a winter wonderland and it gives me so much joy!! Always thinking and praying for “little girl”. She is going to experience so much love!!
I love hearing about your weather and living in Alaska. We usually get snow starting in December to March or April. We live in Fawnskin Ca at the top of the mountains. Our nights are now in the 20s but will go down to single digits during snow. We got slammed last year and in isolated areas 12 people died and disaster was declared by the Governor.
Our neighborhood went 12 days without a plow this go round. The snow got so deep I couldn't get out in our AWD car. I am thankful to have a boss with an extremely lifted 4wd that gave me rides for a week.
I really enjoyed just listening to you talk. My brother lived for 40+years in Kenai and they moved to Texas a few years back so he is happy they do not have to deal with the cold weather any longer. He was a Captain of the Soldotna fire and rescue unit and he also was a pilot. They lived right on the Kenai River and just loved raising their family there as they loved hunting and fishing! Once he hit seventy all the cold was not enjoyable any longer! It sure is a lovely place to raise your family and go on many wonderful adventures. Thanks for chat! Happy Thanksgiving to your beautiful family! I’m thankful your family is getting better. Always rough when Mom does not feel well and all the family gets sick. Take Care!
Lived in another snowy state for years; local cities tried their best but many school days just had to be. Kids must be drawn in by quality, intriguing educational materials. Huge respect to you m & family! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved this vlog. It is a reminder to me get ready. I just got all my leaves raked to the front of the house. A big job. But in Illinois it has been rainy, cold. But it sometimes feels like snow is in the Air. I really loved your coffee mug today. I am sure glad the Bear didn't get into Revive. The Hamm Family are truly building a stronger bond with each other. Weather can kinda ground you, give you a focused track. Everyone has to do their part. Big hugs to you all. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Praying for you. Pray for me too. Having a lot of grief with my First Holiday without Gary. But seeing you guys always makes me happy. Thanks for coming on
Oh Lauren, it was so interesting to learn about winter in Alaska. I live in the Western mountains of Maine and we get some crazy storms as well. In fact, we are bracing for our first big storm tonight which is odd for us in November but I guess it's coming soon! Love you all and have a blessed Thanksgiving, I will say a prayer for your family as always! Stay warm! 💚💙💜
Hi Lauren! What is the Ginger, Citron tea, it looked like a jelly or something similar. Love the cup you were drinking from also. Praying still for you and Baby Girl everyday. Keep warm!
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🦃 Lauren, Mark, Hunter, Bennett, Weston, and Everett. The snow looks so pretty especially with the Christmas 🎄 set up. Love and prayers 🙏🙏.
It’s interesting to hear about how it all works for you there in the winter. I’m from the UK but have lived in Canada since 1989. We lived in Ontario for the first 12 years but moved to British Columbia in 2001. When we lived in Ontario the winters were very snowy and they were very efficient at keeping the roads and schools open for the most part. Now we live in Vancouver area and everything here comes to a grinding halt for days when it snows more than an inch 😅 Our kids did spend their early years back east with the snow though and im glad they got to experience that weather.
Lauren, you look fantastic and more at peace. Love the snow (I'm in Toronto, Ontario)...none here yet but it's coming! Blessings to you and your family.
I take my hat off to you Lauren and all who have winters as cold as you do and continue about life as best you can.I'm an Aussie and lived in Winnipeg for a year and experienced long winter of bitterly cold temperatures and how it has such an impact on your day to day living. It definitely was an Experience for this Aussie woman . Overall a Wonderful experience 😊 Good thoughts to Lauren & Family🌟❤️
Thanks so much for this very interesting information about Alaska. You're such a great teacher and speaker. I'm glad that you felt well enough to do it. God bless you, Lauren and your family.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your family. You look good Lauren, thanks for the update, so good to hear you all are doing okay with all the weather. Prayers for you and your family.

Be careful in the snow. You look wonderful today Lauren. I would like to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving 🍗🦃🥧. Enjoy the holiday. Take care from Cape Cod🇺🇸❤️
Your snow looks more beautiful then snow where I live! I live in a very small city in Canada and it takes them just as long to clear the roads here. I am happy to see you safe and comfy at home! Much love to all of you!!
Very nice video Lauren 😊 Mother Nature is definitely throwing everything for a loop!! I keep hearing the 'El Nino' weather pattern is the culprit.🤔 I've experienced ice storms and blizzards and I will take snow anytime!!❄️☃️
I used to live an area that got snow and ice storms. I was young then and so I loved the change in season and all the work to get ready for winter weather. I miss the snow but not the extra work now that I’m much older. I’m glad you seem to be doing better and I continue to wish you and the family a happy Thanksgiving.
