    Good video. Getting me started to troubleshoot.
    One thing to add. It would be nice to have those drawings next to the bike and when you speak of various elect blocks, point out where they’re at on the bike.
    And yeh, I’m weak when it comes to electrical. 😑

    This remind me something of a couple of years ago that came to me...I don't know if I know I mentioned this before .. i may to someone else that is has a UA-cam channel. a friend of mine has a 2007 Softail and it had been in a fire we resurrected the bike. it looked really bad but the wiring harness except for in front of the gas tank was pretty good shape . the ECM was pretty good shape. so we set about cleaning and then painting the tins and we got it running and it ran good for 2 years. then one day the crank position sensor well that was the code so we changed that and it was fine, it wouldn't take throttle it would idle but no it wouldn't go any faster. then 2 weeks later it wouldn't take throttle again , this time it said it was the map sensor error and throttle position sensor error so we change those now we used aftermarket there. I did a lot of continuity tests made sure the wiring was good from the computer to the sensors make sure it was getting voltage and it was make sure the signal was going back and as best as I could using my vomit voltage was going back smaller amount he then took it to two shops. over a period of time each one said they couldn't figure it out but they would work on it on the in the winter time. the one shop did replace the map sensor with a Harley one but still no change. and they asked if he'd maybe want to buy another bike. he brought it home. I ended up changing the wiring harness with a used wiring harness. I also change the computer to another used computer I married the computer to the bike I think it took two times or it didn't take the first but I did get it to work. but again it was it would run but it wouldn't take throttle I clean the injectors.. coming from older style like shovelheads and Evo bike I was a little out of my element but I knew electrical stuff. at least I can wire a home. and I used to work on tube radios years ago and televisions. so in the end because wanted to work on it except in the winter. I switched it over to a carburetor put a thunderheart ignition and that ignition knows where the motors at through the crank position sensor and runs great but it's still bothers me that I couldn't figure it out and I know I can't figure everything out but that's my story it was just kind of an odd thing. well thanks for reading..✌️
    And I read about as much as I can find out about the 07 Softail deluxe I think that's what it was apparently there was some kind of wiring problem but nobody ever had a or I never found solution anywhere I read...

    Wouldn't it make sense to just check power at the coil? Instead of going through all the tracing, Because it seems like getting power to the coil is the most important. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. You are much appreciated.

    awesome video. stumbled upon it trying to diagnose my 2006 FLHXI. i was having the same issues, and have 12v at the system relay, but 0 volts at the coil. am i right to assume that theres a broke or grounded wire from the system fuse to the coil? also have continuity from the power pin A and ground. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Sounds like you have a bad relay. Can you hear the fuel pump cycle? Don’t forget the relay has 12v power on the contacts and 12 v power on the relay coil to fire it when you put the key switch on and the run switch on. Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you. The computer tells the "System Relay" to turn on/off. The system relay is what supplies power to the coil and fuel pump. I'm not positive but I think that whay=t your saying is correct. As you crank the bike it should supply 12vdc to both and it should stay there until the bike is turned off. I think the reason they do it this way is because if your in an accident you want the bike to turn off and you want the fuel pump to turn off. That way if your bike is on it's side you don't pump 5 gals. of fuel all over the ground. If your saying that when your bike is running and for no reason it shuts off because you loose that power then I'd start checking power at the System Relay and go from there. See the attached link for the wiring diagram for your bike. Please let me know if I can help further. Thank you for watching.

    Hey man , I’ve got a question for you. My 03 Dyna does not want to get spark and I have replaced the ignition, coil, spark plugs, voltage regulator, and crankshaft sensor. It just wants to crank and crank but won’t turn over. Maybe you have some idea of what it could be ? It’s getting plenty of fuel as well

    • @Rapsgarage
      @Rapsgarage  2 місяці тому

      Is it carbureted or fuel injection? Also, Harley offers the wiring diagram online for free go to Google put in your year bike and put in wiring diagram. I would check to make sure it has 12 V power coil. I would then start checking that you have 12 V power at the module for the spark. If it’s fuel injection, that would be the ECM. If you have further trouble, you can send me your phone number and I can help you over the phone. My email address is. hdrap_1999@yahoo.com

    07 flhx my rear jug isn't firing thought was the coil so replaced that still same problem, front jug is firing so is the ecm not sending the ground signal tothe back coil to fire forbthe back jug?

    • @Rapsgarage
      @Rapsgarage  6 місяців тому

      How did you verify the rear isn't firing? If that's true id put a volt meter on the wire for the rear cylinder at the coil and see it it's pulsing from 12vdc then to ground. If it's not I'd check the wire coming the computer to the coil and verify it's good and not broken. The other test I'd do is connect a ground wire to the rear coil post and removing it the see if you have spark. This checks the coil you have. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. If you need further help please email me your phone number to hdrap_1999@yahoo.com and I can call you to walk you through it. Check out me video on how a coil works. This will help you a great deal.

    • @Rapsgarage
      @Rapsgarage  Рік тому

      That’s not enough voltage to the coil. Check your battery first then I’d check your main on/off switch. Check to see if you have a good 12 V to the switch and then see if you have 12 V coming out of the switch. If it’s not there then I start checking the wiring to see if you have a bad wiring connection.

    So what if you have 12 vpower to A for a few seconds then drops to mv and fluctuates as you crank starter

    • @Rapsgarage
      @Rapsgarage  7 місяців тому

      I think on fuel injection bikes it fires the fuel pump until the engine starts. That way if the bike falls over it shuts the engine off and the fuel pump off so it doesn’t pump gas all over the ground in the event the fuel line is broken. The coil has to have power in order for the bike to run.
      Make sure if you’re using a digital voltmeter it’s not auto-scaling. If you need more help let me know.

    • @Rapsgarage
      @Rapsgarage  7 місяців тому
