You mention the power cables were Romex. What gauge wire is that?

I have a 1997 3.3 Pathfinder with 155k miles. It started great at cold start but would die at stop signs when trying to go, and went into hard start in the middle of an intersection. Ran fine when it did decided to run. It turned out to be a bad distributor. Don't buy a cheap rebuilt unit from an auto parts store, they might last 6 months at best. Find the original OEM Hitachi distributor which will last for many years.

Thank you for posting this. I was trying to mount a new 11R24.5 on a steel budd wheel and could only get it on one side. After watching your video, I realized I was putting it on the wrong side. I had trouble getting it back off, so I chained the wheel and chained the tire up between two R model Mack's and pulled them apart. Then, it only took about 10 minutes to mount it the right way. That's a mistake that I'll never make again!

The advice was good but I had a heck of a time getting the second bite on the tire. If anyone else is having trouble getting under the rim to get that second bite like me try placing a third tire iron or screw driver where the second bite will be. It insures there will be a gap there so you can slid the tire iron in. Once it's in you're pretty much good to go.

Long ago, I bought an 80's Pathfinder. Drove it a few years and the timing belt went to crap while slowing down to a stop sign. I hear that's where they usually go out. Yes, it's an interference engine as you said. I bought a salvage yard engine, I think it was a 3.0, and replaced the belt on the floor before putting it in. The part store belt had the correct markings and it ended up well. Over the years it got to leaking everything. Rear main seal, front tranny seal, etc so I donated it to a charity for a small tax deduction. I then bought a 1997 Pathfinder that had 116k miles that had the belt replaced by a shop at 96k. I'm at 155k now. I love this engine, but you have to take care of it.

Not to bury the lede: I used a reciprocating (sawzall) saw to cut off a tire that got stuck, a 13" trailer tire. A little time to get through the steel wire in the bead. I think it fatigued and broke. Sparks flying. I did the dance of joy. I didn't know about the off center wheel recess being important. Now I know why some tires seem so difficult. You have vital information for us. Now ready for those 7 new 225 70r 19.5"s 77 years old here. Still ticking. Thanks so much.

I did this job this evening. It isn't necessary to take the hose off the t-stat housing. Just take out the two bolts and bend the hose out of the way with the housing still attached. I didn't loose any coolant. I've been backyard working on cars since my teens in the 1970s. I remember when thermostats would commonly fail every few years. This was first I've had to do in decades. And, it was the easiest I've ever done. That rubber O-ring as opposed to a flat gasket was great. No scraping or sanding the mating surfaces. Just pull out the old T-stat and O-ring, drop in the new, reinstall the housing bolts. I torqued them 18 pound-feet with a Harbor Freight 3/8" digital torque adapter. That is a slick tool.

they have gotten crazy for replacement fans it costs more for fan than the blow-up cost on clearance. the fabric apparently loses its coating inside people claim it is from storing them in attic i want to fix old inflatable but can't seem to find good coating to seal the fabric.

I’m only trying to do 18” and smaller tires. It would be handy if they made an attachment for 5 pound slide hammers to break a bead. I do have a good 4 pound mini sledge though. And worst case scenario you can just drive a car onto the tire wall or use a ratchet strap and a jack.

Yeah I needed a refresher a quick coarse, heck I used to do this kind of stuff for a living. However it's been over 20 years since I've done any of this and I've got a satellite support bracket I'm having to mount to the side of my house at the table where the ridge comes together.

That's not 14 gauge wire, it's 3 conductor rated for 14A, wire gauge 2.08mm, slightly bigger than 12 gauge wire which is 2.052 mm. Using a 3 conductor Romex is not a bad idea. I would have used the red and black wires for hots and the 10 gauge ground wire for ground as intended. You could connect the white wire to the neutral bus, label it and leave the other end capped with a wire nut in the receptacle box. You never know when you may want it in the future.
