I feel the apart of why this vlog’s author made this job feel so effortless was his un-hesitation in grabbing bead with that flathead screwdriver. Skills I commend the author on that.
I love how when your DIY at home, so you look up how to do it, and in all the videos that make it seem like an easy effortless task and only take about minutes. So your pumped after watching all these ways do it and get started.....3 days later, your frustrated as hell and just cant seem to fogure it out cuz its hard lol
They trying to charge me over $60 for two 4-wheeler tires. This is going to save me money now and in the future. Thanks. Feedback: This video is structured really well. You nailed it, don't change a thing. Step-by-step, easy to follow, thorough, you explained why you were doing things the way you did them. 100% 5 out of 5.
Quick Tip from a 14yrs experience ex-tire tech: for the first bead instead of the flat screwdriver you can use your knees and give it a small jump and It will go in like butter.😉😉😉...Good video Brother Keep it up
I use a large Rubber mallet when I remount my tires Slide the tire over the rim as far as you physically can go Then use your rubber mallet to persuade the tire to go where it’s told Always works for me. And no damage to the chrome or alloy wheel rims
Thanks for posting this video. 1 16"x 7" chrome alloy wheel/225/60 tire down. 3 more to go. I used foam instead of wood. I also started with the wheel face down on the foam. So I wouldn't deal with the potential cosmetic scratches that could occur while prying the 2nd side of the tire over the wheel. Instead of using a c clamp to keep the tire from "spinning," I used a small rubber mallet, that ended up seating the bottom lower portion of the wheel. So that prevented the tire from "spinning." I didn't think it could be done without damage. But this was easy af. I rather scratch up my wheels and know it as opposed to a professional wheel shop who will try to hide it. I had an installer scratch up my wheels and try to hide it. Never again.
You can't often mount your tires from the "inner side" of the wheel. The way the hub of the wheel is constructed doesn't allow enough room to position the bead far enough inside the wheel. Hope that helps. I found out the hard way... 😂
I give this video a solid 10 across the board! Rarely do you find a video where you follow the exact steps shown in the video and it works perfectly. Usually the video makes it seem a lot easier than what it is. But I will say this video was spot on! I followed the exact same steps as shown and I had no issues it worked perfectly the first time!! So I definitely recommend this video to anyone who wants to mount a tire to their rim and want to do it pretty much effortlessly!!! A1 Video Tutorial!!
Awesome! I am inspired! Not only do they charge an arm and a leg to do this at tire stores, I can't get an appointment for 3 days! I had a friend whose dad would spray ether around the inside of the tire and throw a match on it to bead the tire. I think I'll use your technique; I like my head.
One thing I will say based off the experience of changing my own bike tires is overall your technique is correct take small bites and use your hands to finally push the bead over the rim IF you can. Great job dude although bike tires differ due to them using a tube, the concept is the same! One thing I like was your success with using screwdrivers thats impressive.
Trick with C-clamp and wood planks underneath worked like a magic!!!! I was able to mount my 16" tire after almost loosing hope to do so :-(. Thank very very much for this helpful video!!!
The camera woman made this video great!!! You did a good job but she makes the video. Her comment to start the video, the way she pans through the tire to the pup.....pure greatness!!!!
Hey Man, Thanks for this video. I like the way you methodically went through the install step by step and at your own pace. You made it seem really easy and didn't struggle much with it. I ordered a spare tire for my Bronco and will give it a try. Thanks!
I am immediately sold on this man’s wisdom and knowledge of the topic he is instructing and I will follow his tutorial with with confidence based solely on his ability to rock a mustache.
I love how you converted your living room into a tire shop. I've been procrastinating installing new tires on my Hijet Japanese mini truck until warmer weather in the spring but now I'm rethinking that decision. 😀 3:40 - "We don't care about the underside." Until there's a slow leak where the bead doesn't quite seal. 😲 5:30 - I don't think I'd want my balzack on top of a tire when the bead seats. It can be very violent. I'm a fan of your minimal tool git-R-done attitude but I'm not sure that using screwdrivers slowly will prevent aluminum rims from being slowly scratched.
Great vid! One thing that gets overlooked is that all rims have deeper groove on one side. It really helps to start the tire on the correxct side . so that the opposite edge can go into the deeper part of the rim... not sure if Im explaining it right but it reall h elped me in this regard. cheeers]
Love ❤️ the characters, checking the scent, holding down the pad, then supervising the garage from behind a protective barrier. Mr. To-the-Point was also helpful.
He makes this look easier than it is not that thats a bad thing I found changing bike tires the first time it takes more force(not a lot though) than you think to inch away at that tire bead. Great vlog I enjoyd this a lot.
I see you have a ton of positive response.. Jere is one more. Great job . Keep up the good work . maybe another one for removing tires off rims without special equipment . I've used lumber to drive on to break the beads but there are other ways. I'll follow you on it.
What is the tire is Michelin pilot sport cup2 with no stretch at all. .i try this and its hard as a rock , specially the side wall. Not even me add my weight with my knees will the side pop in
Awesome, although in my case with 40 series tires, not sure if I can lean on them the same way with my knees. All I picture is banging them on the rim trying to apply pressure to the other side. Maybe with some kneepads and tape around the screwdriver for extra scratch protection I'll try
Using screwdrivers may damage the tire bead . Ken Tool manufacturers well engineered tire tools . Akron , Ohio Made in America since 1920 . Nice people to deal with ! I am glad you mentioned lubricating the inside of the second area to be installed . Murphy’s Tire Soap works well !
Is it much more difficult to change a tire (I mean to replace it completely) at a low temperature? I did my 1st tire, balanced it, and ready for the 2nd one, but the temperature here dropped. I saw in one film how they heated the tire w/heat gun, but how much, where exactly, all that is kind of vauge. Also in that film they were working on tractor tires, I have just regular passenger car (R16 tires). My HF Tire Machine is mounted outside, while it is snowing I won't do anything, but tomorrow it will be clear. So I decided to do a small research on the subject meanwhile. At what temperature you can change tire more or less comfortably, can you do it @45F, or it is too low? My main concern is that I can tear the tire or burn it w/heater gun. Thank you for a great film, but would you do that procedure at a low temperature?
I have seen a lot of these videos and began to think that I totally can do this myself... good thing I also saw your video - I can't do this. I didn't think so far as how to put air in the new tyres 🤔😄
Pull the air valve and then place a plank on the bead (do not place on rim) take a vehicle and drive it up the plank nice and slow and it should pop the bead, then you do the same he did but in reverse with the screw driver (person I've used 2 flat crow bars before)
That's some serious skill to effortlessly mount them on alloy wheels like that! I've done alloy wheels once and left a noticeable mark on one of the rims. After that frustration I swore to only do steel wheels unless I was in a pinch. Very good video man!
Makes me sick seeing how easy that was. I just dropped off my car to get four mounted and balanced and it going to run $260. Never again brother. Thank you for posting this video.
Can you do it with the wheel outer rim face down on the carpet fitting both inner and outer tire rims over the wheel inner rim thereby avoiding contact between pry bars ( or screwdrivers ) and the wheel outer rim
You need angle on the tire? Push down on the side wall and the tire tucks into the drop center on the rim. Prying he bead over the rest of the rim pulls the tucked part of the bead against the rim keeping it where it needs to be no need for the clamp or lumber just something to pad the ground like a rug. And I’m surprised you didn’t tape your screwdrivers to pad them.
This was the most peaceful tire change ever lol you made it look effortless!
"look" i've been here for an hour and 23 minutes
I feel the apart of why this vlog’s author made this job feel so effortless was his un-hesitation in grabbing bead with that flathead screwdriver. Skills I commend the author on that.

You have an incredibly understanding wife to let you do this on the living room carpet! I learned a lot but I'd have to do it outside. Great video.
Newly weds! That's the 'total forgiveness' zone.
They trying to charge me over $60 for two 4-wheeler tires. This is going to save me money now and in the future. Thanks.

Thumbs up for her letting him do this on the carpet!!!🤣💯💯💯
Lol I thought so too 😂
I kinda wondered about why they used the living room carpet.
Honey its just soapy water!🤣🤣🤣🤣
That sounds like a comment that only someone who's lady wears the pants 👖 in relationship would say
:)))))
A ratchet strap works great for airing up. Place it around the perimeter in the center. It helps seat the bead.
Good, peaceful video. Made it look easy and wifey did great showcasing your pups!
I use a large Rubber mallet when I remount my tires
Slide the tire over the rim as far as you physically can go
Then use your rubber mallet to persuade the tire to go where it’s told
Always works for me. And no damage to the chrome or alloy wheel rims
Going to try this right now on my 18” rim hopefully I don’t have to resort to damaging it
I use to do that with coal truck tires
Also a good way to break the seal

Great video, easy and explained well.
Saved me money from going to my local tire shop when I was dead broke
Thank you for your clear humble instructions. You are a smooth operator.
In the LIVING ROOM no less. Great vid, thanks.
That was great. I have been changing tyres on a proper Machine Tyre Changer all week and your video was well worth a watch. Nice and relaxing too.

Finally , somebody putting a new tire on a rim instead of an old worn out one... big difference!

Great job dude although bike tires differ due to them using a tube, the concept is the same! One thing I like was your success with using screwdrivers thats impressive.
Would it help to wrap the screwdriver in duct tape or electrical tape?
Wow that was awesome! Probably the best tutorial video on how to do this yourself.
Trick with C-clamp and wood planks underneath worked like a magic!!!! I was able to mount my 16" tire after almost loosing hope to do so :-(. Thank very very much for this helpful video!!!
My wife would never let me change my tires in the living room until she saw this video!
lol....

Its called the drop center
Nice ! I wonder if this will work with a little tirer inflator?
Can you set the tire in place with a regular portable tire inflator?
Love ❤️ the characters, checking the scent, holding down the pad, then supervising the garage from behind a protective barrier. Mr. To-the-Point was also helpful.

I remember doing this back in day I needed a refresher thanks
Is it weird that this was surprisingly relaxing to watch?
Yeah, you're a freak.
Came from Saab Tech after watching his same method works great thanks.
Same here!!👍
clamp trick really helped me finish the job. thank you
I see you have a ton of positive response.. Jere is one more. Great job . Keep up the good work . maybe another one for removing tires off rims without special equipment . I've used lumber to drive on to break the beads but there are other ways. I'll follow you on it.
This man just earned a sub. Excellent job!

What I love the most is your furr babies 🥰🥰🥰🥰
You can mount but how would you balance it?
How do you balance the wheel?
Super video. How do “ you “ remove a tire from the rim - any video soon or is there one already? BR Jesper
Excellent, will this work with LT-rated tires?
Great video. Is there an update on your Camaro? How’d it all end up coming together?
You make that look easy! Good taste in wheels. And T shirts. I have that same shirt🤙😎
Is this a 15x7 wheel with 275/60/15?
Changing tires in the living room - effing awesome!
LOL!!! It smells right. Great little helpers!
Is there a video of you removing the old tire?
Awesome, although in my case with 40 series tires, not sure if I can lean on them the same way with my knees. All I picture is banging them on the rim trying to apply pressure to the other side. Maybe with some kneepads and tape around the screwdriver for extra scratch protection I'll try
What do you think is about an estimated time it takes to do all four?
Do I have to have a compressor or can i use a regular air pump?

Hi man, your wife is a saint, allowing to use the living room

POWER couple.!! 💪
Cool Video man... Thanks for sharing.!! 💯
I have seen a lot of these videos and began to think that I totally can do this myself... good thing I also saw your video - I can't do this. I didn't think so far as how to put air in the new tyres 🤔😄
Have you got a video taking the tyre off.
What length for the 2x4 ?
Does the soapy water act as a bead sealer?
Very helpful, thank you! I'll have to make sure my dogs do the sniff test too lol
I would not have considered this a living room project. Less likely to scratch the wheel on carpet. Respect
Can you put the tire onto the back of the wheel first, then you won't have any chance of scratching the front of the wheel?
:^0 I'm gonna be in trouble doing this indoors mate...
Nice moustache also.
So I do this in my leaving room?
Yes
And how much for the carpet cleaning fee?
Thanks! This is great. I have all the simple tools to do this including a chihuahua to do the quality inspection.
Bro the time saved alone is worth it!! Takes Firestone 4 hours to change my tire 😫never been back since 2018
Nice, how about breaking the bead and dismounting?
My thoughts
Pull the air valve and then place a plank on the bead (do not place on rim) take a vehicle and drive it up the plank nice and slow and it should pop the bead, then you do the same he did but in reverse with the screw driver (person I've used 2 flat crow bars before)
@@atonicassassin by hand though
What if I only have the one vehicle
@@tried12usernames I'm not sure then tbh it's extreamly hard to break the bead
@@atonicassassin yeah exactly, the best trick I saw so far was using a c-clamp but that's for motorcycle tires
Thanks man. Got some used parts to make a full size spare to replacement my donut. Didn't really want to take it to a shop to have it mounted.
If youre on carpet couldnt you just mount the tire on the rim from the back with no chance of damage on the front of the rim?
That's some serious skill to effortlessly mount them on alloy wheels like that! I've done alloy wheels once and left a noticeable mark on one of the rims. After that frustration I swore to only do steel wheels unless I was in a pinch. Very good video man!
I think that that was worth a like. Cheers!
Is it impossible to do this without an air compressor?
You need to inflate the tires somehow.
Makes me sick seeing how easy that was. I just dropped off my car to get four mounted and balanced and it going to run $260. Never again brother.
Thank you for posting this video.
Great Vid...so laid back. Excellent
Dude! Your girl friend is the best!!!
good job. easy to understand and who don't like a couple dogs looking for a place to raise that back leg.
Can you do it with the wheel outer rim face down on the carpet fitting both inner and outer tire rims over the wheel inner rim thereby avoiding contact between pry bars ( or screwdrivers ) and the wheel outer rim
On reflection, the diagonal distance from the wheel rim edge to the center rim valley is greater for the inside rim.
Tire must be mounted on the side of rim that is closest to the drop on the rim. In most cases..this is the front side of rim.
Thanks for blessings of knowledge and example
If one has a compressor that only goes to 120lbs is it enough to fill that tire or does it have to be at 170lbs
Your compressor will be more than enough to fill tires. Typical car tire only needs around 35psi.
@@thecrispis2728 OK, I just thought that maybe one needs a lot of pressure for the tire to snap into the bead . Thanks again
Great video, thanks for sharing :-)
I kno im 2yrs late but “Love the vid man!”
It's something about the beading pop that makes it so satisfying lol
Thank you for your advices
Thanks man!!!…. I needed that video!… respect!
I remember doing it this way when I was growing up. Now they have all kinds of gadgets and crap that scratches up the wheel.
Good vid, well done
Thank you so much for this tutorial 🔥🔥
saved to my favorites!!!!

Putting tires on rims in your living room on the carpet?
VERY nice video. I ESPECIALLY liked the help from the doggies!!
"Go with the Coopers!!" 🙆
PS What size tires are those??
Sorry for the delayed response! 275/60r15 rears & 245/60r15 fronts
This was a great vid to watch. I’m not gonna try it lol but a great vid to watch
IF replacing the tire might scratch the rim.. why don't you just mount the tire with the rim facing down??
