I think that has happened with a lot of youtubers, which is a good thing. The big youtubers back in Dax's day, when all they did was sit in front of a camera and talk, really helped them "get out of their shell", and made everyone laugh.

I don’t understand why people think he’s acting, he’s just being himself, but because it’s so unconventional people misconstrue it for being an act. Imagine that.
I think some of his diaries feel wrong. Like when he was filming him and Jacob. Jacob didn’t seem like a real character and a act. Like Dax had such an overreaction to when Jacob had to leave, and Jacob said some things that we’re very scripted
I have autism and it seems like Dax does too. People always misconstrue me for weird things when I talk... even a spy or cop. I wish people were more open minded to those who are neurotypicical enough to function and hold a conversation, but still struggle with socializing in many aspects. Thanks for speaking up for him.
I think in a lot of his recent interviews, he’s being more of himself but when you look at the old videos on his channel (like the now deleted one where he goes to the beach, for example) there are clearly punchlines he sets up and there are other people who play into the joke. That’s not say that he isn’t actually somewhat awkward irl but I think he plays it up and is more self aware than most think (he’s even said himself that he played it up a little when he was like 15)

Just because Dax is an actor doesn't mean this isn't REALLY how he is in real life. He seems 100% genuine and not acting. Its sad that he is most likely being 100% himself but everyone thinks it's an act and laughs, simply because he is an actor.

But maybe he is happy, that's all that matters imo. I had a classmate like him in elementary school, I believe that they are both autistic. How do people still think the awkwardness is intentional when he genuinely says himself it isnt at 7:50 . Its really obvious to me he is actually this way. People are in disbelief this is a real person because they've never seen it before in real life so it must be a character. I had a major crush on Dax when I was in high school and I spent a lot of time hoping he was putting on an act because of all of the horrible comments he got on his videos. Seeing this is a little heartbreaking because I can’t help but imagine this sweet, empathetic guy spending his teenage years in that tsunami of hate.

It's pretty remarkable he has been playing this same character, albeit evolved, since he was a teenager. Legitimately one of the best and lesser known actors of our era.
I've been following Daxflame since some of his earliest videos on the site, there is a lot to it, but people have figured out over the years he isn't really the crazy eccentric guy he appears to be in many of his UA-cam videos. I'm sure there are some resources debunking him online. Especially watching stuff like 21 Jump Street, you can tell he has the ability to play an actual role (other than just the Daxflame character) unlike his goofy homemade films back in the day. Being awkward and nervous is part of his shtick.
