@@nexy12 The Director knew nothing about TNG, so even the long and close friendship between Data and Geordi had gone missing completely. You see the footage concentrating on Picard, Troi being the stereotypical "woman breaking down", but Geordi, Data's best friend for ~15 years at the time is depicted more like the colleague who feels sympathetic to the situation rather than showing grief, disbelief or any level of despair. That role is solely left to Picard. An while that would also fit Picards more fatherlike relationship with Data and the acting of Sir Patrick especially in the bridge-scene is phenomenal, the fact that Geordi, and Riker as well, seem barely affected at all just breaks the scene for me. Riker consoles Troi while Geordi feels for Picard's loss. But that demotes a significant part of the core-family to innocent bystanders. On the day this was shot, Patrick Stewart and the director got into an argument about how the film should end. Patrick had ideas about featuring some of the younger people on set (to indicate that they were the future, I guess), and I remember a very heated exchange that followed where the director basically said that it was his film and he was in charge of decision making.

It's like that they left the best parts out on purpose! I haven't seen Picard Season 3 yet, hopefully it will a better closure to this wonderful cast.🙂
As Picard said to Data in Redemption Pt2. "Nicely Done" I was looking for how you would put in the seat belt cut. And Picard says "About time". Also the original ending cut would go great with Jordi finding Data chip. To kind of suggest Data is not totally gone. As Data is not really gone until captain let's him go in the new Picard series.
This was excellent. While it doesn't have everything shot for the film's epilogue, the key stuff is now reinserted into the film - and that's what matters the most. Overall, I got so much more out of this edit than out of the 5-minute ending from the final version of 'Nemesis'. Thank you, and well done. Can't wait to see more from you :)
This is how nemesis should have ended. we got an absolutely CRAP send off for Data, and no sense of closure, no sense of HOPE for a better, brighter future. You've managed to fix this. Well done.
On a couple of Trek related UA-cam channels, the story goes in the books that Data's CPU or something of that nature was put into B4 and Data's contagious was brought back to life overtaking B4's existence. Data would eventually become captain of the Enterprise. But after the Kelvin timeline, that story is no longer canon.
@@tonyfelder1206 I thought it was that Data left his emotion chip behind and upon installing it into B4, it enhanced his neural net and data's memories backed up into the emotion chip take over.
This killed my Star Trek fandom for years. I know Spiner wanted to move on, but that doesn't mean they had to kill the character. I hoped the next movie was going to be called The Q-est for Data where Q saved Data for a special mission behind the Continium's back.
Brent Spiner did the same thing Leonard Nimoy did. He insisted that they kill off his character but made sure they wrote in a way to bring him back if he changed his mind later. I feel like that cheapened the whole thing. At least with Spock the film ended with the audience thinking he was gone for good. In Nemesis it was clear that the only reason for B4 was so Data could come back if he wanted to.
@@TheCinegeeks Then they further cheapened the "sacrifice" by bringing Data back in "Picard" in that contrived manner, then euthanizing him. THAT was a crappy plot choice and an unworthy demise for a dynamic character.
Thanks pal ✌️ I'm happier with how you finished data's goodbye compared the crap that was in the released version! what is next?I can't wait pal and keep up the fans version!🙏😅✌️🖖
I wish with this new era of Star Trek perhaps Paramount may re-release extended editions with edits like this for all the films, especially the TNG films.
I loved the added scene where Spot goes to Warf! Was hilarious when he baby sat for him! 😹 I look that up every once and a while just to laugh. Would have been great if Warf sneezed, but I guess it wasn't a scene for humor.
I remember a beautiful photo spread of the costumes with all the details. Maybe it was in Vogue or W. I'm glad I saw that because you didnt notice the details in the darkness of the movie.
Great ending! Apparently, there are hours of cut scenes in the Paramount vaults from Nemesis, I would love a new edit by Jonathan Frakes to be released on Paramount+! I am sure many fans would love this!
Some of it was interesting, anyway (the new stuff) but even then, rather poorly executed, quite often. And 'Picard' was both rather dour, and violent, often.
@Blair Brown, there’s no disservice when those new possibilities are created by proven incompetents who openly acknowledge the franchise is nothing more than a platform to them.
My only issue with the movie was whomever wrote the script, did not research very well. There were many points where information in the movie contradicted established information. The most obvious is when Picard is talking with his new first officer about their mission to Deneb, stating that its where no one has gone before. In truth, the very first mission of the Enterprise D was to Farpoint Station, located in the Deneb system.
"Place" might refer to a place within the Deneb system. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I think this is what they were going for. Either way, this ending is leagues above the original B4llsh*t - well done!
I think visiting a station within the system and exploring the entire system are different enough from one another, so I don’t mind it. And, Picard looking at Worf when he says, “It should be interesting” could be seen as an indicator that he remembers Deneb from the Farpoint mission.
It's the Denab system. Different place, to Deneb Kaitos (presumably the actual TNG Deneb) With the more famous Deneb, much, much further away. But then speed and distance have rarely been that consistent in Star Trek.
Damn, this is such a better "tie a bow on the package" ending. It wraps up the loose ends so much better! And why did they leave out the first officer calling him Jean Luc part? Damn... This was way better than what they released. Good work, wish you had been in the editing suite when this turd was cut together.
I really enjoyed your take on this, but I very much liked the scene in the original ending with Captain Picard chatting with B4. I know B4 didn't really understand everything, but when he started singing the first line of Blue Skies, it gave me a kind of hope that Data was still in there somewhere, but B4 just needed time to evolve like Data had. After all, they had done a memory download from Data to B4 earlier in the movie. It really struck me as a nice parallel of what happenned to Spock in the classic films. All of what made Spock who he was was transferred to McCoy, and then they transferred it all back from McCoy to Spock after Spock had been regenerated by the Genesis planet and matured. He wasn't quite exactly the same Spock right away, but gradually, over time, he became Spock again. I was kind of hoping that that was what they were going for here. Especially when Picard offered the toast "To Absent Friends" - which was the same toast Kirk made with the crew when they originally lost Spock. So, for me, that scene was important to really drive home that parallel/homage to the earlier film, and perhaps foreshadow an eventual return.
Star Trek was never about exploring space, but about exploring human nature. The first few iterations always had someone from the "outside" observing and trying to understand humanity TOS: Spock TNG: Data & Worf (and perhaps even Q) DS9: Odo Voyager: Seven & The Doctor
@@raymondmcfarlane9313 He ultimately becomes Captain of the Enterprise. A certain Admiral Picard put in a good word with Starfleet. In fact, it was the only way he would accept the promotion to Admiral, is if Starfleet allowed Worf to Command the Enterprise.

With Data gone now after this film, Worf would most likely become the new #2 which Data was designated. Your ending scenes i have seen b4 seperately in short clips n it worked way better here. This is the end Data deserved n the enterprise crew should have gotten. I like that Ryker's last act on the ship was to mess with the new #1's head. Nicely done dude
Do they explain how Worf is a Starfleet officer again after being an Ambassador at the end of DS9? I don't recall...
So goood man, this ending made me cry then laugh at the end with the new First Officer. Ughhh, they should have made Worf the new #1. 😩 Great job on the edits! 🖖🏽😁
Worf botched an important mission in DS9 to save Dax and Sisko told him Star Fleet would never give him a command
And what about Geordi? Unless he was valuable as chief engineer. And it never was explained how Worf was supposed to be Chancellor Martock's aide in DS9 only to end up back on the Enterprise.
He was on the Enterprise because of the wedding.
Geordi by all rights should have been next for the first officer spot. And when the cat went to Worf, just shows that even though Worf is a tough ass warrior what a very kind hearted nature he possesses.
@@keithaldrich1862 Klingons should appreciate cats, which are really killing machines in slight disguise. Although I'm not sure how honorable they'd be considered.
This is ended we desperately wanted! Thank you so much for your work!
Excellent job, i'm tearing up all over again
Me too
Well, well, well...! Excellent! Without doubt a better version of ending. Two thumbs up!
Makes me blub every time i see the ending and Data`s demise.
Thank you for sharing
Gorram you! I cried, I laughed and I wish you'd made the final cut editor. Thank you!
The TMP music is just comfy
Bravo man. Well done.

As soon as Jean-Luc says 'Refit' you can hear a chime of Goldsmith's 'The Enterprise' ... Now THATS a nice touch bro!
Magnificent. I love how you used Jerry Goldsmith’s score from the Motion Picture, carrying forward the tiny bit of it that the movie set up with the ship in dry dock. Really, really well done.
Brilliant. 😍🤩❤Hope we get to see a great Extended Cut of "Star Trek: Nemesis" One day soon 😍😍🥰 with the almost of 55 minutes of character and depth footage that was left on the cutting room floor . 😇☮
Of all the fan edits this is by far in my book the best one I've seen! Great work!
There is a scene with Beverly also leaving. I guess you are aware of that cut out scene. I'd have included that one as well. Beverly came by far too short in this final movie. That is the only constructive criticism I have ^^
Beverly was poorly utilized in the films particularly generations and nemesis
@@chrispeplinski7306 showrunners hated her bc she complained about the sexist writing
I think I heard the notes from Inside Out sound track when Worf and Geordie are in Data's quarters... if so... that was a nice edit and pulled at my heart strings.
I thought this initially too. Buts it’s actually just a few keys from the melody of Blue Skies. Equally lovely.
@@Aztec2250 ahhh nice! Thank you
Really well put together. Fantastic work.
Data being gone was a part of something is gone not forgotten. When they brought him back on startrek picard season 3. The memories came back.
It's like that they left the best parts out on purpose! I haven't seen Picard Season 3 yet, hopefully it will a better closure to this wonderful cast.🙂
As Picard said to Data in Redemption Pt2.
"Nicely Done"
I was looking for how you would put in the seat belt cut. And Picard says "About time". Also the original ending cut would go great with Jordi finding Data chip. To kind of suggest Data is not totally gone.
As Data is not really gone until captain let's him go in the new Picard series.
Goodbye Commander Data your present will be missed in the star trek universe. Live long and prosper in Android Heaven.
He did live long, he was older than 500 years.
If it's Heaven, he should be with his friends, so hopefully he'll be in Human Heaven, lol.
When spot crawled up to Worf, it made me cry.
He was the most humon of us all
That was superb, never seen it before! Made me cry and smile. Thank you for showing it. 🤗🤗🤗🖖
The human adventure continues....
Well done.
Loving the fan edits you've done!
This is how nemesis should have ended. we got an absolutely CRAP send off for Data, and no sense of closure, no sense of HOPE for a better, brighter future. You've managed to fix this. Well done.
The actor that played the NEW first officer went on to play the head of the MACOS in Enterprise
Great ending - thank you. I really enjoyed that! Great work - well done 😄👍
Good job! I liked the movie but now I really like the movie because you made it make better sense! Thank you!
Wow… this ending was so much better than what we got originally.
The proper send-off for the TNG cast will finally happen next year. Looking forward to it!
Great edit. This would have made the ending so much better.
So much better than having b-4 at the end of the film. This actually has you feeling more for Data at the end. Great job.
Farewell Data, you'll be always remembered.
Paramount needs to hire you when it's time for the director's cut. Great editing.
This...was a solid ending. Well done.
You just fixed The Next Generation's ending...thank you
A very nice edit. Nemesis would have been better with the character moments included
Remember seeing this at cinema my jaw dropped when data sacrifices himself for the enterprise one of my saddest movie moments ever
This is the ending we deserved.
This is now the way it ended in my head. Far better 👏🏻👏🏻
This killed my Star Trek fandom for years. I know Spiner wanted to move on, but that doesn't mean they had to kill the character. I hoped the next movie was going to be called The Q-est for Data where Q saved Data for a special mission behind the Continium's back.
That would have been a great story
*_"To absent friends.."!_*_ As i get older and lose more people.. this cuts deeper and deeper every time.._
💔😞✊🏻🙋🏼🍷
Thanks pal ✌️ I'm happier with how you finished data's goodbye compared the crap that was in the released version! what is next?I can't wait pal and keep up the fans version!🙏😅✌️🖖
I wish with this new era of Star Trek perhaps Paramount may re-release extended editions with edits like this for all the films, especially the TNG films.
Honestly I have to say like many others I think this is how Nemesis should have ended, to me it just makes more sense than the ending we got.
Beautiful work!
You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.
I loved the added scene where Spot goes to Warf! Was hilarious when he baby sat for him! 😹 I look that up every once and a while just to laugh. Would have been great if Warf sneezed, but I guess it wasn't a scene for humor.
I felt so bad for Geordi. You could feel his pain.
I remember a beautiful photo spread of the costumes with all the details. Maybe it was in Vogue or W. I'm glad I saw that because you didnt notice the details in the darkness of the movie.
There was a cut scene of them putting Data’s Holmes stuff away?! And they cut it?!!!
This is the ending the film deserved. Thank you.
I'm not sad now... I know worf is taking care of Spot. ❤️
future storyline: Spot dies, Worf holds the cat in his hands, throws back his head and howls, letting all the warriors know, Spot has come home.
I like the farewell shots of Data!!! Pop goes the Weasel was the song Data whistled when Riker first met himim
Great ending! Apparently, there are hours of cut scenes in the Paramount vaults from Nemesis, I would love a new edit by Jonathan Frakes to be released on Paramount+! I am sure many fans would love this!
In hindsight nemesis seems like Shakespeare compared to what they've done with star trek in recent years
Best not to watch so there’s no basis for comparison, I think.
@@SumDumGy No,we have to watch. To do anything less would be a disservice to....new possibilities
@@blairbrown4812 Road kill is road kill.
Why do you feel any of us have to slow down to see the squished brains?
Some of it was interesting, anyway (the new stuff) but even then, rather poorly executed, quite often.
And 'Picard' was both rather dour, and violent, often.
@Blair Brown, there’s no disservice when those new possibilities are created by proven incompetents who openly acknowledge the franchise is nothing more than a platform to them.
I think this ending would have been a better fit for the movie.
Different place, to Deneb Kaitos (presumably the actual TNG Deneb)
With the more famous Deneb, much, much further away. But then speed and distance have rarely been that consistent in Star Trek.
When Data sacrificed himself to save Picard, brought a tear to my eye, I always what Picard was thinking after that happened
Damn, this is such a better "tie a bow on the package" ending. It wraps up the loose ends so much better! And why did they leave out the first officer calling him Jean Luc part? Damn... This was way better than what they released. Good work, wish you had been in the editing suite when this turd was cut together.
Well done! Thank you for this.
The first few iterations always had someone from the "outside" observing and trying to understand humanity
TOS: Spock
TNG: Data & Worf (and perhaps even Q)
DS9: Odo
Voyager: Seven & The Doctor
I think this edit was well done.
I feel wolf should had took riker place as commander
Totally agree. He earned it! 👍🏽🖖🏽
This never made sense to me. This took place after the Dominion War. AFTER Worf became Ambassador on Qo'nos.
Worf would go to war at every chance, ram other ships and try to die gloriously in battle. Lol
Worf lost his chance after failing a mission and instead saving Dax in DS9 so star fleet would never give him a promotion
I loved the fact that they gave Geordi a lot more emotional scenes in PICARD: Season 3 to play. His scenes pleading with Data to fight Lore, so he could help his daughter were great.
Never saw the sun...shining so bright...
Never saw things going so right....
I’m crying….
Isa Briones (Soji/Dahj/Kore Soong) sang this at the end of Picard Season 1. Excellent performance.
Isn't deneb where farpoint was in the pilot episode?
Yes
I think he said Denab which is a different star
