You're wrong about the main camera being the same or more traditional. It's a much larger sensor than any previous Samsung phone like S10 etc. even though it is 12 megapixels. It's 1/1.72 " and it's better at low light and cleaner pictures etc.
For years tech reviewers harped about resolution and PPIs to the hilt. Now suddenly it's OK to have 1080p with 120hz. I know reason is to save battery life but then same could be achieved by making other tradeoffs depending on how far one is willing to go. I would call it innovation/progression if they can deliver good battery life with 120hz at max resolution without making the phone too big else it's just moving pegs around.
For that money you should get a long time fast software updates. But they don't offer that. And that's a big thing you notice after purchasing the phone.

@@franklingoodwin The upgrade is so small that it's not worth the price upgrade. Most people around the world don't use 5G. But no point getting a larger one for the extra money they ask. Its so similar to the S20 you might as well go for the cheaper phone which gives the same experience

I'm only interested in Note phones for the S-Pen, and I don't really care about camera quality. In my country, the Note 9 and the Note 10 Lite are almost the same price. I realize that Samsung Dex support isn't available on the Note 10 Lite. Is this the reason why I should choose the Note 9 over the Note 10 Lite? At almost the same price point, which phone is more worth it? Which phone would you recommend to me and why? Thank you.
Amazing review keep it up as always watching with my S20 plus
The latest ATF update added a great macro imaging feature and I'm now totally satisfied with the focussing on my Ultra... if they launched it in this configuration, no one would have complained.
I ordered mine 2 days ago and it will arrive tomorrow... so excited for this one, and I actually order it in pink. Soon my unboxing will be coming on my channel 😍 can't wait
How is it?
Great review as always Dieter. Love the subtly dig to Matrix music in the bg... Cheers :)
Samsung loses by shipping that phone with different processors 💔🛑
was about to buy the ultra, but I think that the s20 will do me fine. Just need something to take good pictures with and I'm an advent samsung lover.
The only s20 review I was waiting for is here!
Didnt knew kendrick lamar’s brother worked for the verge!
"Which is pink, and is my favorite color option"
*me with a cloud blue s20+*: Bruh
Obvious attention seeking flex, but ok.
@@mikael4126 yeah I know, I live in a society/community where I get hated on for having a samsung, so I was hoping people on here would at least agree
@@brettdavis2504 Jokes on you, I have a Samsung myself. But I don't go shoving it into other's faces to receive validation. But, you do you bro.
@@brettdavis2504 lol don't let him make you feel bad, if you have an s20+ let a few people know you have the latest smartphone.
He is probably salty that he still has an S5 lol
You're wrong about the main camera being the same or more traditional. It's a much larger sensor than any previous Samsung phone like S10 etc. even though it is 12 megapixels. It's 1/1.72 " and it's better at low light and cleaner pictures etc.
Someone finally made a review about S20!!...thanks verge!!!
Headphone jack stopped me from making the upgrading.
Idk why companies keep doing this....
Ok but why?
James Legend the same reason why modern day laptops don’t usually have an Ethernet port.
Obsolete technology
Jk, Im still using a headphone jack phone
I want to get one Ultra right now but my pocket will allow me to do so?
S20 review by doctor strange !
It's funny, I was considering the s20+ for that extra camera but I'm glad I didn't, thanks for the tip!
Think Samsung called this a S20 coz it came out in 2020.
For that money you should get a long time fast software updates. But they don't offer that. And that's a big thing you notice after purchasing the phone.
Everything about this review was epic.
People need to stop saying the base s20 is better than the ultra, it's not even close, the ultra is insane, but the s20 is better for it's price
Squint really hard in the camera demos and you can see MKBHD
What are they wallpapers?
Can you give download link.
But NOT better than the S20 Plus.
To say the least, Ultra is NOT ultra ready yet.
It IS BETTER than the Plus. What are you getting for an additional $200?! TOF and 500mah? That's a joke.
@@ClaxtonBay123 And mmwave 5G and bigger screen
franklingoodwin there is no mmwave. Check Jerryrigeverthing.
@@RR-uc1wb I know that was my point. My reply was to someone saying there's no difference between the S20 and S20 Plus apart from the bigger screen and battery. I pointed out the S20 Plus also has mmwave 5G and the S20 has just low band 5G
@@franklingoodwin The upgrade is so small that it's not worth the price upgrade. Most people around the world don't use 5G. There have been multiple tests and the ToF sensor makes basically no difference in picture quality but helps with AR... which most people don't use.
Bigger screen. Sure. But no point getting a larger one for the extra money they ask. Its so similar to the S20 you might as well go for the cheaper phone which gives the same experience
You have it wrong. The s20 does not have 5G unless you specify those exact specs when you buy directly from the website. In which case you pay more and only get the intl version (not available in most countries)
I have the s20+. It's fricking amazing
I picked it up last night. Absolutely loving it so far
What about battery? Is enough for a whole day?
@@mariobotti1952 in 120hz it's been 7 to 8 hours of use not always screentime and it has 38% left but the best is the fast charging
Thank you. Snapdragon or Exinos?
@@raphizz338 you have exynos version?
How do you get that new layout for the icon at the bottom? I love the one you have in the video!
My phones need a headphone Jack so this is a deal breaker, I think I'll upgrade to a s10 or s10e
The phone is too thin, so the headphone jack would have disturbed the quality of the phone
@@bryansuarez1931 I'd take slightly compromised structural integrity if it means I have a headphone jack.
But that is just me
just get galaxy buds
Wireless is the future
I totally agree! Headphone jack is an absolute must. The phones were already thin enough for me.
Awesome review man!!! Goes in so much detail with all they key points!
WatchiNg on my S20 Ultra 👌🏿
Same here
Brootis Rinzler is it worth buying?
DreamZZZdJ if you get a good deal sure
@@DreamZZZdJ No, buy the Samsung Galaxy S20 + unless you really want 100x zoom camera. 100x isn't worth paying an extra $400 for
Yeah buddy!!
