@@Braveplanttbc it’s trying to be mature and enjoying the excerpt as is, sometimes in rehearsals people don’t give a shit but they want to be good for each other
Nice work brother, outstanding wide open tone. For this piece at least, I like to add a little more tongue attack, or punch than I normally would, but possible it can't be heard from a cell phone recording...
It’s honestly not terribly hard. It has the same fingerings as euphonium, the only thing that’s difficult about it is the breath support. The amount of air needed for the instrument to sound clear is insane. I myself have gotten light headed during rehearsals, and that was still after playing for 3 years.
Your video seems flipped left-right on this and New World, but not Tchai. IV. It's interesting you breathe between each note on the pulsed phartes (I played with Augusta symphony on principal bass bone for about six seasons, have played much of this lit). I'm thinking you are breathing that way to set up for each attack to be identical. I never would have thought of doing that in my day, aka The Land Before Time. Good sound! Remember, as bass bone, it is always our job to make the tenors sound a little tinny, and you do it well, lol.
I don't know why, but I always think the piece will spontaneously break into the Star Wars Imperial March. Or is it just me? Are they played in the same key?
It's a Ultimate Brass mouthpiece (I'm artist of this brand). In this video I'm playing with a George Curran Orchestral mouthpiece. Check out the website, they have really good stuff! www.ultbrass.com/
You and the tuba are just a smidge too short on the opening statement, y’all increase length well after the horns take over, maybe you intuitively noticed that they had more sustain. It’s a wonderful sound but it just doesn’t fit the piece or composer quite right.
Maybe the conductor told them to not sustain until later. The sound is not great anyway because it’s from an iPhone, you can clearly hear that the strings and brass are not in sync, but it could well be that that’s just the iPhone mic not coping with the volume.
The tuba and bass trombone are at the back of the orchestra, which means that they need to anticipate the notes very slightly to keep in time with the instruments at the front of the orchestra.
the face expressions that you make each and every one of the notes makes it even better good job
hi jordan its me maddox
Love classic music. While listening my cat came over and watched it with me. We both loved it thanks❤
I love your tone and cleanliness! It's really inspiring
where the imperial march
seen that video so many times i was surprised when they didn’t play it
Bc it’s professional orchestra, sometimes they wont chose to troll bc there’s a crowd of people

No
Super in tune, nice
First time I heard this song was in a Eurosport car crash compilation around 1988! This song rocks!
I played this piece in my college Halloween orchestra concert. The first movment is my favortie! Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
Im so used to people putting the imperial march for that part

First off you sound great, but I am curious to what thoses black ruber bands on the tuning slides are used for and what thay are called?

I saw my colleague playing, can't say I heard him 😜

Nice execution 👏😁, what is this trombone and mouthpiece??
holy fuck that's a nice horn.
What does that part around the bell (not the end) do? it is to help with resonance??
Is that Two-Set Violin cameo in the background on Bass Drum?
Bass trombone needs larger lung capacity than normal one. More piping Victor that’s why

@@TubaTones I agree with you on that. iPhones are bad at volume due to their built In equalizer.
Consider the fact that the brass and strings could literally be in sync
