Everyone who listens to "Dance of the Knights": -OMG I love the strings' melody, it's so badass! Lowbrass in this piece: -"Anyways, I started blasting"
as a bass trombonist in high school this tone is just gorgeous as he doesnt lose his fullness in the tone and every note is very well articulated love from sweden
Why use bass trumpet anyways when you have trombone and euphonium and a million other instruments in the same octave that sound very close in terms of sound.
Damn. If you listen to Tim Buzbee on the notes below low Bb he is playing them just a fraction of a second earlier than Mike. That is fine ass playing right there. Incredibly aware and adept.
Amo esta pieza de Prokofiev "Danza de los caballeros" de la obra Romeo y Julieta. Y éste músico toca este instrumento de manera increíble !! BRAVOOOO lo felicito !!
You know when I first saw this video, I immediately fell in love with Bass Trombone, and now I'm looking to upgrade my Trombone to Bass. Amazing work man.
@@ElloImNoodle lol, I get what you're thinking now. Yeah, those three notes right at 1:10 would sound like the beginning of the Imperial March by Williams. Except the two are in completely different keys. Imperial March is in G minor with those three notes on G. Prokofiev wrote the Dance of the Knights in E minor, with this particular part playing on the low F. As a baritone singer, I love that low F, so that is why I made the comment that I love that part and sing along, because it is right in my optimal range, and I love how it sounds.
I play bass trombone for my highschool band. Any tips tricks or practices to help with tone and how low i can get. I can get to the lowest note but i have to work it down tho
Just curious, but what model trombone is that? I haven't seen any basses with that particular bracing. It looks similar to my Courtois but they don't have axials :( Also I have to compliment both of you nailing those articulations with the timpanist. Superb!
I learned from you and I'm the only kid to ever do down octave on trombone I'm in 6th grade and this is a collage song and I learning it I can do the solo because of you if you could reply I really want to thank you for ever thing

slightly bigger than a Laskey 93D, but smaller than a 95D. So like 294mm or something. Also the rim contour is different to a Laskey so that effects how it feels as well.
Mike Szabo I’m reading this as a horn player and I’m incredibly jealous of that size. When I try to go down to my pedal C it’s so hard and I wish for something bigger than my 18mm, which is already a large horn mouthpiece
Your tone......is frickin fantastic

Saw you posted a new video- clicked immediately! Love yours and Tim Buzbee's playing!!
We played this in our marching show last year it was so fun 😂
Id love to see more content like this! The intonation and blend from both of you guys is absolutely stunning!
Amazin!!! Trombones and tuba: they give warm and energy.
What an exquisite tone !!!

Why do so many trombonist touch the bell with their fingers on the third position? Is it really necessary if they know the rest of the positions by muscle memory?
It's likely a habit from when they began to learn the positions, and is just more muscle memory.

Why?
it's weirder when people play Star Wars during a Prokofiev pieces.

Sure, tubas can play low notes, but contrabass trombones WEAPONIZE low notes
Star Wars ripped this off .
