Just bought this device for my MG4 and the touch screen is out of sync. I press on one icon and end up selecting the icon next door... Ive contacted one car about returning the device, hopefully we can reach a positive outcome.
I bought this unit recently for my MG4 EV Trophy long range. Initial setup was straightforward and CarPlay works great but when I power off the car for a short while and then go back the unit does not reconnect. I have to remove the USB plug then re-insert the plug to get the unit to connect. I’ve tried disconnecting my phone’s Bluetooth connection to the car but made no difference. Can you or anyone else suggest a solution? Thanks.
I've got one since I saw this video. Works fine at first but when I turn the car off and turn the car back on it won't recognize the device and have to unplug and plug the device again to be able to use it. I've got an MG4 as well
That’s really odd. When you say turn off and back on, do you mean exiting the car? It should reconnect automatically. Are you using android auto or apple CarPlay?
@@stuart_thomas yeah, exiting the car turning it off (locking) i was expecting the the smart aibox to automatically connect, which it did when i checked my bluetooth connection. However, the car play icon on the screen is greyed out.
@@jaimenario6362 that’s very odd, I mean it does take a pause for it to get back up to speed, maybe 30 seconds. I would reach out to the manufacturer and get their opinion. On some phones in the Bluetooth settings you can have an option to ‘reconnect automatically’ Bluetooth. I know on the Tesla model3, you have to check an option for the vehicle to reconnect to the device each time you boot up. But I would run it past the manufacturer 👍 fingers crossed they can sort that, perhaps it’s as small as a setting to change.
I use an android phone btw. What lights up when i tried it was the apple car play icon not android auto, it works but i think it's the same UI either way, as ive seen on other videos. I've actually waited a whole 5 minutes for it to boot up again when i started my car but it didn't start automatically
They still had it for a good price. 149 now so i ordered one! i will unfortunatly have to pay some customs etc but that does not matter because these modules are EXTREMELY expensive here in Norway. Just a normal little dongle for wireless android auto and nothing else is 150 quid.
Wow, I know Norway is more expensive in comparison to the UK, sounds like a good deal at 150. All the best with it, I hope it does everything you need 👍
android auto og CrAppel Auto do they read State of charge from the car, like the originale system do. also WHY does the Device NOT booting up then i go into my car. the software in this unit really sucks.

Was wondering if split screen worked with this device yupz had to zoom and pause your video and can see you were having maps on with music player on left side split screen 😅
Some how it looks complicated considering that the native system is mirroring the output of an androidbox connected to an iphone. Makes sense as long as you have not multiple sim data card cause then it might be better to work without the phone, but that might cause other implications as well. Not sure, but at the end 160$ is a price at the top end considering that you get a phone with screen for such price from china with a good built quality that should easily be able to achieve the same or even more. I wonder why they do not start offering such integrations for surplus phones we have already. Great review.
Nice vidéo, i bought it and i follow the instructions but i need to unplugged and plug it for it works, have you got a solution ? The wifi also don t stay activated...and when i activate it i can't go to Android auto bluetooth connection with speedplay. Excuse my Bad english😅
Great to hear you have ordered one. Mine works straight away, no need to replug. I haven’t used it with android auto so I can’t comment. WiFi should stay in place until you begin to use the device as a media/sat nav. Which MG4 do you have?
Great. Was checking if you had the trophy and using its WiFi hotspot or not. That’s very bizarre, WiFi should remain connected if you’ve activated it. You may lose if you begin driving and the device is using the Bluetooth to communicate but I would reach out to the manufacturer, it could be very much a setting which is causing this. Sorry that I can’t help any more on it.

I’ve got a similar issue with this unit on my MG4! I have to unplug then plug in to use the unit after initial setup.
Informative, thanks. Now you need a sample of screen wipes to demonstrate removing fingerprints from your MG4 screen :)
