I got the suspicion that the phone has been used in a crime and was "destroyed" since only been used for a few phonecalls but someone found it and sold it in a tech lot
*_they destroyed the evidence_*
yeah but it happened on valentines day, so there is a chance the date was an excuse, or just a big fail
@@ca1in967 just coincidence this really has been used for crime
I don't know why somebody would spend 200$ on a new Samsung phone just to be used in a crime and end up destroyed shortly after.

The puncture hole in the back is facing into the phone (as far as I can see). The broken screen also looks like it was cracked from the inside out (by heavy force from the backside of the phone). Could easily be a shot with a 4,5 or 5,5 mm airgun. Would also be why the hole isn't right through the battery.
Doesn't look like the battery caught on fire it looks like someone held a lighter on the back

I love doing repairs on the a series, they are pretty much the same phone from the inside and are so simple
Watching this on an A20, I panicked when I heard "is this another Note 7"
The battery was punctured so you don't have to worry. I use the same phone. If you punctured any battery there's a good chance it'll burst into flames but Samsung made sure they wouldn't have another Note 7 situation
Yeah I'm glad to know that too, since my Galaxy A10 is 4 months old and I really don't need it exploding on me. Good to know it's not a ticking time bomb.

Nice work man, I will need to learn this skill soon
waiting so long for this vidro
Ana i have wairing for this phone bicuse im sung samsun a20e
I'm bit curious though. You've mentioned that the phone itself cost you $8 initially and the repair and such about $120 or so. But besides the tutorial if you want to and the fact that YES it could be brought back to a functional position, was it worth it? Keeping it for parts only could give you more money instead of spending money and almost getting close to half the price of a new one or even a refurbished one. Just a thought. Never the less it was yet again a GREAT video and making me enjoying each and every one and waiting every Saturday for a new one. Cheers.
I mean if he couldn’t fix it I guess he would probably sell it for parts

What were or are the most recent handsets? 🤔 The A20 is a nice phone, but sort of lower end. Thanks 🤓 great rebuild!
The moment I scrolled down the feed and saw "Samsung" and "Caught on fire" in the title, I was thinking "A note 7 video in this day and age?" only to find out that in fact, it's just another samsung phone having battery problems.
yo literally???
I think somebody put a blunt on their brand new burner phone and melted through to the battery LMAO
I'm gonna guess this phone was used for one of those "CAN THIS SAMSUNG PHONE SURVIVE 100 FEET DROP (GONE WRONG)"
you are a miracle man!
Probably everything apple pro testing the durability lol 😂 😂😂😂😂
I have a galaxy a30s and it was interesting to see the inside of its little brother. Also it seems so similar to the galaxy s6 on the inside
Let's get started
*JerryRig's intro plays*
Judging by the screen, that phone must have been deliberately hammered and then the battery short due to excessive impact, it never been used so the one who hammered it must be another phone reviewer who make a video "Can Samsung A20 survive a hammer test ?"
I'd recommend removing the tape on that back plastic cover and adding your own red tape. The tap that comes pre-applied is awful.
I don't think that Samsung would sell you a battery (not how their parts distribution business works). You would probably get one from a reseller or something similar to that, like other companies.
Guy: hey babe i got u this new phone

1 hour later:
Me to samasung - wait let me wear my vr goggles i want to see how combustion occurs in 3d
