@@nathanaelmalm5641 Yeah that's what I think, I must admit I have a Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 and quite frankly prefer it to the Samsung Galaxy A20 any day.
I got the suspicion that the phone has been used in a crime and was "destroyed" since only been used for a few phonecalls but someone found it and sold it in a tech lot
The puncture hole in the back is facing into the phone (as far as I can see). The broken screen also looks like it was cracked from the inside out (by heavy force from the backside of the phone). Could easily be a shot with a 4,5 or 5,5 mm airgun. Would also be why the hole isn't right through the battery.
Great video Hugh! Always soothing and entertaining to see you refurbishing phones and i appreciate you trying to fix new phones besides iPhones. The battery was punctured so you don't have to worry. I use the same phone. If you punctured any battery there's a good chance it'll burst into flames but Samsung made sure they wouldn't have another Note 7 situation

I have a question. If the phone has a cracked motherboard or charging port, would that permanently make the phone unusable? Or could you go out and purchase a replacement to sorta rebuild the entire phone again with the small parts that were salvaged?
If the charging port is removable, then you could just buy a new one. Even if it's soldered onto the board, you can learn to take it off and replace it, or send it off to someone who can. I'm pretty sure it's the same for if the board is cracked. Just take out the stuff that isn't broken and put it on a new board.

The moment I scrolled down the feed and saw "Samsung" and "Caught on fire" in the title, I was thinking "A note 7 video in this day and age?" only to find out that in fact, it's just another samsung phone having battery problems.
I'm bit curious though. You've mentioned that the phone itself cost you $8 initially and the repair and such about $120 or so. But besides the tutorial if you want to and the fact that YES it could be brought back to a functional position, was it worth it? Keeping it for parts only could give you more money instead of spending money and almost getting close to half the price of a new one or even a refurbished one. Just a thought. Never the less it was yet again a GREAT video and making me enjoying each and every one and waiting every Saturday for a new one. Cheers.
