Nothing drives me nuts more than fixing a shoddily repaired phone. A customer brought me an XR last week and the guys who repaired it before not only didn't adhere the new screen, they left out the bottom screws AND somehow destroyed her power/volume flex. That last one was something I'd never seen accomplished during a screen replacement.
Probably done by someone from apple's genius bar so that you're forced to get a new phone lol
It never fails to amaze me how much some people damage a phone during a simple screen repair. Especially when the damage is to something that didn't even need to be touched for the repair.
I'm sitting here trying to figure out in my head how they'd even accomplish that. Did they tear it near the connector? Only thing i can think of is a tool slip, or they had no idea what they're doing. I've seen people try to fix them on their own, try to replace their battery, and tear the cable near the volume buttons well trying to pry up the battery, but ya never during a screen repair.
this apply for xbox and playstation consoles also i got two xbox 360 halo editon consoles for $20 each and one of them was fine but under the motherboard theirs foam pads with thermal pads on them on some of the chips to keep them cool when i got it their was something shaking around inside of it and as i took it apart the thermal pads and styrofoam pads that keep the thermal paste pads on were both gone and in place was 3 pennies rapped in electrical tape and taped to the mother bored long story short in doing that they killed the mother board
@@tydshiin5783 it’s most certainly previously repaired by a mall repair shop

I do own A22 5G and it's a good one. Dimensity 700 makes the battery last long. Apart of the absence of the NFC in our region, it is almost a complete package
Only thing I absolutely hate are the stupid side mounted fingerprint readers (not just on this model). Put a case on and whoops.. it'll no longer work well or at all. Plus when you just wanna turn on the screen by tapping the power button to see notifs or whatever, it'll instead just complain about not being able to read your finger... adsdfshdfgj 🤬
@Knaeckebrotsaege in my case the fingerprint still work a bit too well until the phone blocked it after 5 accidental fingerprint touches.....
"Some one's been in here"
That title… dankpods collaboration is definitely coming! 😂
I can't wait

Hey Hugh!
I've repaired the same phone yesterday, the sub board needs to be inserted at the top right corner first because there is a black piece on the screen that holds that corner.
If you open the rear plastic again you will notice that there is a lump on the sub board's main flex conector.
Keep it up!
Must have been a “Certified Technician” that repaired that. 😂😂😂😂
That one was epic 😂😂
hey no emoji spam
The greatest technician thats ever lived. Wait no that belongs to someone with racoon like fingers

Repair shops should use your videos as a reference for their own repairs at this point
Huhg is an online repair school. I am in uganda, east africa and I learn from him
An A22 was my last phone, I loved it. I particularly remember how long the battery lasted - I could go almost two whole days without charging mine. It worked for everything I need a phone for perfectly fine, and I only replaced it because I ran out of storage for apps. I replaced it with an A33, which I currently use and love just the same. Highly recommend the A series to anyone in need of a more budget-friendly phone.
Please keep doing these repairs and prolonging phones' lives. I'd love to buy your repaired phones if not for being in different countries.
I really appreciate your work!
lol l thought he was doing this as a hobby & he would sell repaired phones for a small price since he’s making money off of youtube (viewers) and he buys those broken phones for pocket change. yet his repaired phones are costly, considered those were broken and you will be like the 3rd owner of the device… he sells a Pixel 7 for $400….
@@beaualoevv youtube pays horribly for views. It stopped being worth it very long ago. Guess why so many people use Patreon?
If youre not consistently hitting 6-8 million views per video per month, you better find a real job.

Nice repair hugh look forward to the iphone 15 teardown and repair assessment video to see what apple as done this time
Congratulations for 900k
Nice work Hugh, my dad has the 4G model and the 90hz amoled panel really shines, at such low price. It's not the fastest but hey, it's good enough 👍
That's really good to hear!
Fixed a few of those recently. The flex for the volume keys seems to be really fragile. But you can get the replacement screens with this part already glued in place! Samsungs Service Pack for example. Saves, as Hugh stated, a lot of hassle and time waiting for the flex to arrive from china.
When I did phone repairs back in 2022 I worked on one of these. The frame was pretty simple and was quite fun to work on. Easiest phone to work on BY FAR ( surprisingly ) was the Iphone X. If you needed a screen replaced you could do it in less than 10 min
I agree, I often open up android phones but it's actually pretty easy to replace parts on the iPhone X and 11, then only iPhones I've worked on
@@gd_4saken827 treasure it, because those are the last iPhones that are easy to work on. Everything since has been a nightmare of Apple bullshit and stupidity.
@@gd_4saken827
If you skip/ don't care about the Apple's software pairing, then yes, it's easy
Iphones that open up from the front are so easy, changed my 11 screen in like 4 minutes
7:35 frame not properly clicked into place (there's a gap between the LCD and the frame). Apart from that, good job Hugh. I do these kind of repairs every single day in my repair shop
Since the iPhone 15 was announced, there's a few things you should know. They claimed it to be more repairable, by saying they made the back glass more removable. That, I can believe them on, since they did it with the standard iPhone 14 last year. But, no mentions about those software issues. I heard certain news that Apple backed a RTR bill in the US state California. But, TBH, I'm very skeptical about that. Of course, though, I'm sure you'll be doing your usual trick of buying 2 phones, and swapping the mainboards to see how the phone reacts to it.
I have the A23. It is a really decent device. If I wasn’t able to afford flagship phones, I could definitely use these mid budget range devices. Not the fast. But has come a long way from devices that cost the same 5 years ago!
Buy used Galaxy S10 = 150 USD average
If you buy a Galaxy Note 9 you can get a cheap phone with really high performance. The only biggest problem is the cost to repair the screen if it breaks.
sadly ive noticed with the a-series lineup by samsung that after a year of daily use these devices become slower, noticably so, to the point where my now maybe 3 years old a32 freezes during phone calls.
@@TonyTear I used an A52s and it's a vastly different experience from yours. The Helio G80 on the A32 is honestly an aging chip, and fwik, A32 uses UMMC memory which is hard drive slow
@sorosaltgaming the 9 and 8 series are getting purposely slowed down
I have the note 8 and its acting weird lately. It used to be shuch a good phone
Good job!
The A series are quite good phones.
That’s what I like,simple repair videos …..mean not simple
I admire the Hugh Jeffrey calmless. He are realy man of steel. I myself would lose my mind and rage level high long time. Respekt man.
Thank you for bringing back otherwise e-waste from poisoning our planet further. Small steps lead to giant ones.
Thanks Jeffery for another well made phone repair relaxing video. 😌🤗
"🤗" Emoji is cute 🥰
I am watching you for years now, what i dint realized you are close to 1million subscribers, wish you good luck 👌
I wish Samsung made the their entire lineup this easy to repair.
Someone's been in here!
Well done Hugh, I really appreciate your fixing and making phones reusable!
Be even easier when phones are required to have batteries replicable by a normal user with no specialist tools.
Cheers mate 👍
Love your videos
Great review as always Hugh apple could really take a lesson from Samsung when it comes to repairing their phones
Apple doesn't care, they are too selfish. I don't know how such a company can be worth $$trillions having a selfish mindset. 😕
Yep! Very true.
_And... we're done!_ Awww yisss
Great video

How do i find good repair shops?
I've seen so many videos from this channel and others about phones that have been damaged by repair shops.
I have a samsung tab s7 fe with a cracked screen
Huge Jerry is the boss.
Very nice.
Well done, looks brand new, i have a broken laptop and no one can repair it, not even me.
Only our God Lucifer can
Watching this from my Galaxy A22 5G (128/6GB). Aside from my cracked tempered glass everything in my phone is in perfect condition.
a22 in Pakistan is a little different it has 4 camera's and the flash is below that👀

WHO EVER REPAIRED IT BEFORE WAS A NOVICE
The display was fine and only needed glass replacement. The case was in fair condition and did not need replacement. I think the parts you bought were more expensive than a used phone in good condition.
I saw it long before you said in video well I'm happy you did it after all it's important for me because I also repair phones it's really important to do every phone properly 😊
Pretty phone
Watching this on my samsung a22 5g✌️
Well done
It’s amazing what punishment your average phone go through. People pay lots of money for a phone only to not look after it.
They are too cheap to buy a glass screen protector, or don't like how the screen protector makes the phone "feel different".
They have the same excuse for not using a case on their phone.
I think secretly those kind of owners enjoy buying a new phone every year. Phones now are status symbols, and people want an excuse to buy the brand new model.
I always use an OtterBox case and a glass screen protector. I haven't broken\cracked a screen for the last 3 phones I've owned, but why take chances? OtterBox: $35, three glass screen protectors: $12. Peace of mind regarding accidents: Priceless.
There is no excuse not to use glass screen protectors. They're cheap, and I've never seen a phone that got the screen broken *underneath* a glass protector.
Where do you get your parts from?
change title to someone cooked here.
the A family is the best.
Samsung phones are so easy to fix. It boggles my mind how people don't repair these correctly even with all of the different guides out there.
Nice, that's my phone, good to know there are some restoration value left.
Edit: nvm I heard the e-waste drop off part D:
These phones I find you make the best profit on. Phones like the A10,A21 and A52 I sale a lot of them after doing them up. They are good phones for people and screen replacement is cheap compared to higher models. Samsung do make a good line of midrange phones.
I bought mine last year for 190€ new from a store(seems to be 315 australian dollars), it's a great budget phone with great battery life. It's also though, I dropped it so many times but my screen is intact and works flawlessly
That's not a buget phone, that's a buget to high end where I live
Cant find the particular website you purchased the phone from. Any assistance Hugh🙏?
Like this type of replacement. Wish I could do mine without compromising the water seal or get a better seal for maintaining water resistant like factory one(although can't guarantee be works.)
Wonder if that phone was a victim of a "Phone Repair Course" thing.
someone's been in here
Hugh, why did you not just replace the front glass using a diamond thread to open up the glass and put a new one in?
Hey Jeffrey i liked your iPhone part changing videos it give a clear view of what companies intentions with their phones i like to ask you to do the same with the new huawei phones if it possible
what are some good glues/methods to use for resealing a phone if u dont have a adhesive template
I was curious why you no longer apply the screen protectors?
Hello Hugh. Hope you are well? May I ask a question, please? How do you get into doing this without any prior experience or knowledge? I would like to get into phone repairs but the issue I have is that I have only ever done a screen on an old iPhone 6s but if I've got someones £800 iPhone and I mess it up trying to repair it, I am then liable and It will cost me to buy a new phone. How did you get into it and what do I need to get started? Thanks. Graham
I wish we could buy replacement parts at those prices here in the UK!!
i personally struggle with antenna connectors, how do you manage?
one of my favorite series!
Always a good day when Hugh uploads.
you know it’s good when he uploads
To whoever repaired this phone previously, please practice fixing bricks first before repairing phones
"Prior repair" is used only in the most basic sense of the word....
No way the first phone I bought and I still have it in good condition
❤❤❤
that's a nice little phone, if not a bit quaint.
Aye someone’s been in ere mate
Alright Hugh when will you meet Wade and James to fix things?
Couldn't you just replace the glass itself as the screen looked spotless, that's how most repair shops do.
First of all you must be thinking on the old days when the lcd and touch screen digitizer can still be separated
Second even if it is possible it is REALLY HARD to separate them 2 togheter because they're glued down and has a REALLY HIGH chance of breaking the lcd in the process
And it still works just cracked it can still be used for things like testing motherboards and data recovery
Samsung replacement screens on higher end models are always a total write off. Used phones with good screen cost usually only a few bucks more. I am sure Samsung prices these replacement parts like that on purpose
Bingo. Tried saving a S10 for being the last S-series flagship with a headphone jack. Screen+frame service pack was close to 200 eurodollars. Fully functional used S10? 130-150 depending on condition. Compeltely pointless to even try. Can't tell me that's not intentional as the prices apparently haven't dropped one bit in years. You'd think at some point they'd go down just so they could get rid of old stock when production stops. Nope
Are you getting the iPhone 15? For a tear down and repair assessment.
I love your content Hugh!
At the beggining the phone had tape on it, they might have tried the toothpaste trick
i got over 60 Untested devices from eBay in a very cheap package, most of them actually worked but with small issues like Cracked back panels. The one i actually want to Fix is the Galaxy S9+ but the Replacement screen, back and Frame Cost more than getting a used one without the Damage....
who ever tried to "repair" that mobile prior did a shocking job and should do something else.
I own a A32 5G. Unfortunately these phones won't get Android 14 as Android 13 is its last update, but will still get Android security updates
Hugh i have note 9 with front glass broken do you fix it you can use in video i realy love that phone but not ime to fix.
The most intensive thing i do on a phone is play Pokemon Go, so i went from a note 10 to the A series of phones the last couple years. No complaints since then, my model still has an sd card reader and a headphone jack 👀
I've fixed many a Samsung phone. They are some of the easiest to repair. Just don't rush it and have the right tools. LG's and Moto's are right behind d Samsung, except their parts are a flimsier (or those 3rd party parts need to be reevaluated)
Please where do you buy these phones? Can you please name a site?
Some samsungs can cause fingerprint sensor recalibration if running without that sensor plugged in.
I’ll be honest, my iPhone XR shattered yesterday and it doesn’t even look that bad
*That sAMsONG has seen better owners ngl*
*Smasnug
just like my uncle's repair work
how can one person mess it up that bad
Do a broken samsung a54 if you can next.
So I broke my iPhone XR yesterday, is it worth it to fix or just replace?
