sorry to tell u but there is a really rare case to find a phone to power on with out battary and only wall power cuz battary actually works as a jumper and if u want to power on the phone without a battary u will need to brige the 2 contacts with a cable or something but i wont recommend it cuz it can damage your phone in result u will lose all your data so dont try this and if u are going try it at your own risk i dont have any responsibility if your house burns donw or anything else happened.

@@immanuelhermon Well, my phone with a crack is a second one. First one fell on a floor screen down. Didn't have a single scratch but frontal camera broke. Gladly store agreed to repair or replace device on warranty. Also, several years ago I accidentally dropped company's iPhone 4s on my work and its screen was completely shattered. Thing is that you can be simply unlucky and get your phone completely destroyed with falling from one height yet in similar circumstances, other phone will be fine and not get a single scratch. I even managed to destroy a screen on the Nokia phone. This was last non-"smartphone" I ever used btw. Phone was inside its sleeve inside of the winter jacket. And its matrix was completely destroyed. Yet at the same time Samsung Tablet I had during that fall (I t was in the winter in the early morning and there was a ton of ice) didn't get a single scratch. So my luck with phones is VERY weird.
Just a thought, you have 435k subs on UA-cam alone, I love to see your work and would normally shy away from repaired or "refurbished" phones but would consider getting one from you just for the quality detailed work you do. Don't let opportunities pass you by! ;)

Blackberry also has their own test app, it's called "Blackberry Virtual Doctor" or something like this, I don't really remember already but it may be essential while testing the phone. Also I should say that Priv often has an issue with primary mic, that was the reason I stopped using it as spare mic is really hard to find and I haven't found any that would work with it (tried to install different Samsung and etc MEMS mics)
You can separate the samsung s4 shattered glass easily and then just glue a new one in place. I just replaced the glass on one, few years ago. Heat it, and then slide a plastic play cards between the display and broken glass. Only be careful when you reach the bottom buttons to separate them with care. Then i just applied some glue on the sides, not on the entire display. And it works till this day. There are videos on yt. You can get a better price for it then.

You’d get almost everything from iFixit. They sell all the tools and parts you’ll need, and they also have tutorials on how to fix stuff. To get started, you’d probably want to start with older devices. Newer ones require more skill. Maybe try an iPhone 5 or something?

Oh also Hugh when you get the priv working and you go to use it make sure you buy a case for it. The heat from your hands heats up the processor in it and it drains the battery something fierce. I put a case on mine and it works perfect with no heating issues. Just a friendly tip!
i remember changing samsung a7 2017 battery it tooked my one and a half hours to open the back pannel without breaking thoose water proof ones are scary good work btw love vids
@@Jonas-vp1di They are the worst , I have 2 Xiaomi phones My first phone : a redmi note 5 , it got bent without even having a single scratch on the body as well as on the screen, then one day the network signal stop showing I can't call anyone now with this stupid phone , and talking about the update , I received a OTA update on the phone , I installed it and then it led me to the boot process where it showed me error and the phone was not switching , although I know what to do which is flash the phone but there is a one problem you can't unlock the bootloader , so I have to pay a local repairing shop to do it because it requires to open the back cover and short two points on the motherboard to enter into EDL mode...stupid xioami ... But still I can't able to call anyone... My 2nd phone : redmi note 7 pro , I received a OTA update which also got en error as well but this time phone was automatically switching on and off repeatedly and it stopped when thw battery died... So I took it to the service center of MI , they said to me that the motherboard needs to be changed which costs around 70 dollars for a new one , I told them that was ur fault for sending me that stupid faulty software update but didn't accepted , again I went to local repairing shop , he only charged me around 7 dollars because there was a fault in the power button circuit which he repaired ... Apparently MI service centers have only one solution , changing motherboards . I have learnt my lesson , never buy xiaomi phones.
Xiaomi in India is very popular though India get Xiaomi's Redmi brand devices and they are budget friendly and very good devices. Xiaomi is the brain behind the famous POCO phone which was only released and available in India.
My camera only does 1080 60p or 4k 24p. I tested out 4k and it looks horrible at 24p. Would love 2k 60p myself but I don't know any cameras similar to mine that shoot it.
Blackberry Priv isn't the only Android slider smartphone. Take a look at the Motorola Milestone (DROID in the US) lineup. the Milestone 3 and 4 are pretty neat sliders, albeit old.
Next video, Hugh will triumphantly restore a Samsung Galaxy S8 that was put through an industrial shredder twice with the remains incinerated to ashes.

Might not be ideal, but if you're on a serious budget I've found the heating pads they sell for reptile tanks help.

My first phone : a redmi note 5 , it got bent without even having a single scratch on the body as well as on the screen, then one day the network signal stop showing I can't call anyone now with this stupid phone , and talking about the update , I received a OTA update on the phone , I installed it and then it led me to the boot process where it showed me error and the phone was not switching , although I know what to do which is flash the phone but there is a one problem you can't unlock the bootloader , so I have to pay a local repairing shop to do it because it requires to open the back cover and short two points on the motherboard to enter into EDL mode...stupid xioami ... But still I can't able to call anyone...
My 2nd phone : redmi note 7 pro , I received a OTA update which also got en error as well but this time phone was automatically switching on and off repeatedly and it stopped when thw battery died... So I took it to the service center of MI , they said to me that the motherboard needs to be changed which costs around 70 dollars for a new one , I told them that was ur fault for sending me that stupid faulty software update but didn't accepted , again I went to local repairing shop , he only charged me around 7 dollars because there was a fault in the power button circuit which he repaired ...
Apparently MI service centers have only one solution , changing motherboards .
I have learnt my lesson , never buy xiaomi phones.
The Sony Xperia pro and mini pro also have sliding keyboards but they are much older.
The mini pro was my first Smartphone, such a cool phone.

My camera only does 1080 60p or 4k 24p. I tested out 4k and it looks horrible at 24p. Would love 2k 60p myself but I don't know any cameras similar to mine that shoot it.

I used to have one of those Blackberries and i loved it so much, but it died on me. Would have been an acceptable daily driver still to this day.
Blackberry Priv isn't the only Android slider smartphone. Take a look at the Motorola Milestone (DROID in the US) lineup. the Milestone 3 and 4 are pretty neat sliders, albeit old.
You should also fix those Motorola phones you were planning to sell on ebay! It'd make for a great video imo.
