The game sounds interesting, the presentation is amazing, but can I just get props to the reader? The voice fits perfectly, similar to the one in the chaos dwarves trailer by games workshop! I love that this isn't the usual advertisement BS of "look how cool it is, you are awesome, get our game now for 80$" with the typical action music in the background. "You are small. You are worthless. And you will survive, or die trying." That's how this all feels. I hope to see more of you guys soon!
I love that the Phrase "The year is 20XX, welcome to the future..." implies that the war has mad epeople lose all sense of time. Making the plot of an enternal war even more convincing. There's also a line to express how much the war reshaped the world. It's at 2:57 where the narrator says "...time to enter the macro city of Lost Angels mega structure..." which clearly implies that the name Los Angeles has been forgoten by those who kne wit and recalled by the people born in the fire.
@@SmokesKwazukii Maybe that’s the point. It became so unrecognizable that it’s arguable if that even was Los Angeles. The cities we once knew would not be recognizable, they will be war torn mosh pits after generations of conflict.
20XX is actually an old term from the original MegaMan games. It's used to say that the story is occurring somewhere in the 21st Century without pinning it down exactly, as the specifics could break immersion. If it seems more futuristic, you can imagine closer to 2099, but if it seems more familiar you can slide it closer to modern day.
@@RENEG4DE4NGEL a further quip on this, the competitive melee scene has adopted "20XX" as a meme that in the year 20XX, everyone will play Fox (the strongest character in the game). In that course, there is also a layer of inevitability in the phrase 20XX, which I think is neat in this context.

When I heard "MDK" as a reference point to my old beloved game - I was sold already. Im on board of that hypetrain and waiting with fingers crossed that this will be bigger success than Helldivers 2 had. Good luck!
This is not like the typical apocalypse settings where it's like "okay everything is abandoned but there's something oddly chill about the empty streets and overgown buildings, I can survive this" this is more like "every inch of the earth is obliterated beyond recognition into a mechanical nightmare, a place so scary and inhospitable you don't even want to be alive in but your primal instincts keep you going, every breath you take is a hard-earned miracle"
I'm pretty sure I'd rather swallow my own barrel than live in that environment, but who knows, maybe if you're in panic crisis mode and spent your entire life not knowing any better, maybe it's barely livable.
My god. Cyborg detritivores resembling giant plasticine women plucking corpses from rubble. Going into an active warzone with nothing but a thick parka, a shopping cart strapped to your back and an antique rusted-over SVD to fend off against metallic hellhounds stalking the alleyways of an abandoned slum. Hulking beasts of flesh and iron dressed with defiled corpses, as you pray to a shrine dedicated to the unholy machine that will soon take your life. The mish-mashed arsenal of both Hollywood staples, World-War antiques and homemade guns fully expecting you to, somehow, kill bio-mechanical gods of death with mere bullets and optics. The option to willingly give up loot to aid newer players, and how this kind of community is only possible by literally working for the factions that are killing the planet and will actively kill you harder if you're successful, all for a few jugs of water. It's like the unholy matrimony between Ukrainian war footage, Ghost in the Shell and an AI "art" generator with the framing of a messy divorce between Single-Player Tarkov and This War of Mine, with lore-accurate MGS4 as padding. This is the first time I have been so interested in a game in a long time. I keep re-watching all the trailers. The aesthetic of 90's anime inspiration is such a sick idea. The animation on the way those mechs move is so damn satisfying to watch. I can't wait to watch these battles unfold.

@@SigmaGamingLLCHere we see the two types of modern gamers in the wild: The type who overhypes based on minimal footage, and the type that immediately judges something that isn’t even out yet.
I take it as a good-faith statement that they're showing the true game instead of the pre-rendered slop we've been fed for so long. They're happy to show us warts-and-all because they're confident in everything else. Their other video has definitely sold me on this belief, too.
Looks like I am seeing modern day MBTs. That T-90 that shot at the player had a RWS Kord or Dshka ontop of it. At the opening, that was a pair of Merkava Mk.4s and on the scene with the giant mech on the highway there is an M1A1 Abrams rolling next to it. Pretty interesting how we're using what should be old generation Main Battle Tanks with the cream of the crop Super Mechs.
There was a dev interview recorded, who described the battlefield to be absolute anarchy after 40 years of war where the two military superpowers are now throwing anything and everything at each other. They keep developing new technologies and machines, then strap guns on those machines and send them into the battlefield in the hopes of gaining an edge, and even put new guns on old machines and turn corpses into cyborg zombies to fill their rank and file. They're using any weapon that can be used, from from state-of-the-art robots to stuff that should be in a museum.
Fun Dog, you have my attention. Edit: Anyone ever played _Phantom Dust_ ? The environment design and atmosphere reminds me of that a whole lot, and that's a good thing.
I noticed that one of the translations for the title logo was in Japanese, the other two being German and Russian. Japan is part of one of the factions.
I love the atmosphere. The desolate landscapes of the wars, combined with the cyberpunk-esque dystopia looks amazing. It even has some kind of supernatural element with many of the machines of war.
If you put a high contrast b/w filter over that last sequence with the scavs walking through that passage with the pipes, I would legitimately think it was a panel from BLAME! at first glance lol
It's rare to see a game that requires you to master both combat and stealth. I have been thinking one way to do it is to have enemies you can fight alongside enemies you cannot, but I cannot think of another game at the moment.
Right? There aren’t a ton I can name either, but DAYZ comes to mind as one of the few. Constant tension on a full server 👍🏻 FOREVER WINTER looks terrific tho. Looking forward to seeing more.
Warframe has missions where you can work with/for one of the enemy factions for faction specific rewards. If the community sides with one faction too much then a special event plays where you have to destroy the super weapon you’ve been helping them create
this game looks like it draws some similarities directly from Escape from Tarkov. It even has the same underground like hub and prob plays like a Extraction shooter, but 3rd person instead of 1st person.
Yeah... I'd also prefer a first-person view as well. I find them to be a bit more visceral and effective for games with this sort of atmosphere, but that's probably just me.
Definitely feels like the weakest part of this trailer. The characters look/feel like there's no weight to them, even though they have these huge packs.
This has great atmosphere, and the ai faction wars is a great idea. Most of the backpack frames I see are taking up too much screen space in that camera angle. Can probably be looked over if the gameplay is good.
I have the feeling the backpack is the only HUD you'll get of your inventory while in a mission. So maybe this shows you everything like health and ammunition which would explain why it is so visible. Other games also wanted a better immersion and left the HUD out and put it on the back of the player like in Dead Space for example.
Loved every word of this. Concepts, gameplay mechanics and the way it's all managed sound very cool. Even the voiceover was very well written. Very looking forward to this.
Been obsessed with this game ever since the algorithm fired Riloe's presentation into my feed. Can't wait to dig into the lore. The concept and worldbuilding are the perfect cocktail of a post-apocalyptic, grimdark nightmare. Rogue and malfunctioning AIs, warring military factions devoid of compassion or humanity, roaming biomechanical monstrosities that are worshipped by flocks of starving wretches at their heels. It looks like a warped world where mankind as a whole has gone insane. More please.
This trailer oddly reminds me a lot of Journey for some reason. The world is stuck in an endless war, littered with the remnants of it, but it doesn’t feel like it’s full of anger or hate. It just feels old and tired, waiting to keel over and rest.
Yeah. It doesn't have that usual flare of Humanity being at its worst. This seems to be the aftermath of it. Humanity just gripping on what it could grab onto and trying to stay relevant from what could be its own machinations the Robot AI Enemy.
An Ai Army that the politicians put in place that are now dead, no one can stop them, they continue to fight this war until their is a victor, but unfortunately ai seemingly at a stalemate. Just be glad its not Tic-tac-toe.
@@pilotmanpaulthis is just the last remnants of humanity living in the literal hell they’ve created for themselves. the final result of industrialized warfare.

I love that the Phrase "The year is 20XX, welcome to the future..." implies that the war has mad epeople lose all sense of time. Making the plot of an enternal war even more convincing. There's also a line to express how much the war reshaped the world. It's at 2:57 where the narrator says "...time to enter the macro city of Lost Angels mega structure..." which clearly implies that the name Los Angeles has been forgoten by those who kne wit and recalled by the people born in the fire.
i dont know that its even supposed to be los angeles tbh the factions are all european
@@SmokesKwazukii
Maybe that’s the point.

Good luck!
Just left an MDK comment myself, that game was amazing
This is not like the typical apocalypse settings where it's like "okay everything is abandoned but there's something oddly chill about the empty streets and overgown buildings, I can survive this" this is more like "every inch of the earth is obliterated beyond recognition into a mechanical nightmare, a place so scary and inhospitable you don't even want to be alive in but your primal instincts keep you going, every breath you take is a hard-earned miracle"
I'm pretty sure I'd rather swallow my own barrel than live in that environment, but who knows, maybe if you're in panic crisis mode and spent your entire life not knowing any better, maybe it's barely livable.
exactly. it's a proper apocalypse instead of a post-apocalypse.
@@JackCaoNZ Thats why its a game but ok I guess you are into living in an empty game with nothing but empty streets around like the day before.
