Been looking for someone doing this for what feels like forever. You're the one and only i have found so far. Can't quite believe this is now a few years old. Great job on what is one of the all time best and under the radar solos there is imho. Just puts a smile on my face whenever i hear it and for a brief moment all is perfectly well in the world. More please Thanks
@@phil29ukit's such a good feeling when a cover finally comes out for a banger of a song that's not too popular, or when you get to be the first one to do it
You did that solo Justice brother. one of the greatest solos of all time. Just love how it seems that every single fret is visited in that minute and 40 seconds. Good job no, great job!
I’m a super critical listener having been in the business of listening to soloed channels during live performances as an FOH man. I have never heard such a tonally and accurate performance of any artist that good before and it’s a hard piece man. Well done.
Such an underrated solo and you absolutely NAILED it. I am amazed at the covers on UA-cam that don't even come close and I'm trying hard to find a note you missed, but I just can't find one. Love it, love it, love it!
You have it ! Bravo ! I would play that track repeatedly just to enjoy that much inspiring guitar solo . Minute by Minute ...They guys were definitely heading in a new direction . Living on the fault line had been the turning point .

Just been reading all the comments. Every time I hear the song now, it takes me back to travelling in the van, when there was only us two left, and we'd stick it on full blast. Not forgetting F.U.B.B. too
In my early teens I just about wore the grooves out on my Minute by Minute album. How Do the Fools Survive was one of my favorite tracks from this album and Skunk Baxter's solo became one of my favorite guitar solos of all time. You nailed it! Keep up the good work!
That was great, well done. You were spot on! I've been trying to find this song live on UA-cam by the Doobies but I can't find a live version, anyway, this was totally enjoyable, someday I pray I play this. Thank you.
@@phil29uk It really is criminal, I've been listening to this song since it came out, I think it was on the minute by minute album, I'd play this in my Fiat Spyder traveling around eastern Washington and let it play over and over again, damn I miss those times. Anyway, I wish I could find a life version but maybe one just doesn't exist. Take care.
@@phil29uk You are quite welcome. May I ask how you approached learning this solo? Did you learn it by a note to note transcription or did you find the chord changes first and work from that point? If I remember correct, the solo is played over four chords.
@@Larrymh07 yeah I worked it out by figuring the chords out then working through it 4 bars at a time then once I was familiar with each section I just pieced them together.
Absolutely awesome! How do you get that sharp attack for that kind of acoustic sound? I've experimented with similar sounds, but it's always pretty hard to get it to sound good
wow! my favorite guitar solo ever and you nailed it perfectly, congratulations! I've been studying it for some time but got nowhere as close as you did. In case you transcribed it, would you be willing to share your transcription?
Hi. Thanks for your comment. I didn't transcribe it but was gonna do a lesson on it with tabs on how I play it as there is very little UA-cam videos for this solo. Will let you know when I do a video. Thanks again. 🤟
@@phil29uk- thank you, Phil! I subscribed to your channel. Please do a lesson on it with tabs, I will devour it! I am willing to pay for your transcription.
This has to be one of the most underappreciated guitar solos , have loved it for a long time. You are a joy to listen to. Also would love tab, and an overlay against chord changes.
Simply awesome!!! Finally someone brave enough to tackle this!!!
Thanks man. 🤘

Yeah it's crazy how no one else is even attempting this solo or even knows it exists. It's a crime ha ha.

Cheers bud. Yeah it defo has more notes in than the conventional solo. It's so melodic and l love how you can sing every note whilst listening to it.
nice, one the greatest solos of all time
Thanks. It's an amazing album. Love all the songs on it.
yes brother!
Well done.

Thoroughly Brilliant!
Thank you 🤘
Just a pure guitar solo with such resonance. Lovely
Yeah it's a classic for sure. Thanks
Just came across this - Awesome! All I need is the tab now!
Cheers. Will eventually get round to tabbing it. It's probably not how he played it but the notes are there. 😂
