Not to mention that the Jews literally fought the British for decades for them to leave, and hundreds of thousands of refugees were at the time held hostage by the British internment camps (mainly in Cyprus). Well, a PKF is hardly a military force, but they are observers. Like a referee during a sport match. When the war becomes hot again, a PKF need to get the hell out of there. Many PKF missions have demonstrated that. The most brutal example was the slaughter of Sebrenica, Bosnia. Dutch UN troops were tasked of guarding Sebrenica, which was an UN declared safe heaven. The Dutch soldier had only 30 rounds of ammo, a few machineguns and no anti tank misseles. The Serbs attacked with tanks and slaughter 8000 muslim men.

UN... DEUX Hahahahahahahahah, I love the hidden humour of your videos, but they are also always informative, thanks for putting the time into making them!
The Suez Crisis honestly was a shifting point in history. It was that crisis that in my opinion officially ended European Imperalism and opened the doors for a more global share of power
Noticed how it’s called “Suez Crisis” and not “Suez War” since Western Powers downplayed this war to make it less significant in the public eye, even though at least 4 countries were involved (UK, France, Israel vs Egypt) with around 4000 people fought and died ending in Egypt victory. Just because Egypt wanted to nationalize the Suez Canal from former colonial powers.
Israel agreed to fight because Egypt funded terror cells, closed the straights of Tiran and closed the suez for Israel, so Israel did have a solid reason to attack, Britain and France though..
One thing about the map - Gaza was part of Egypt until the six days war (1967), and Egypt gave its claim on it only with the Israel-Egypt peace treaty (1979).
It’s funny and sad at the same time. Israel and Egypt spent years fighting over Gaza. And for the last thirty or forty years, they’ve each been doing their utmost to have the other handle it. Neither of them knows what to do about the almost 2 million Palestinians there. “Yours. No yours. Please take it back. Nope, you took it, you keep it”…
Could have added that the result of the Suez crisis really cemented the fact that France needed its own nuclear arsenal, which became true 4 years later, under the influence of De Gaulle who thought that is was simply a necessary condition to a foreign policy independent of that from the US.

And for being honest, why the heck would Britain ever perfer the interests of some 600,000 people, most of whom poor refugees in a very poor and small country with no resources, on the expense of good relations with many strong and large countries containing hundreds of millions of people, massive land areas and plenty of resources (Obviously oil one of the most important)?
The answer? They never did.
Not to mention that the Jews literally fought the British for decades for them to leave, and hundreds of thousands of refugees were at the time held hostage by the British internment camps (mainly in Cyprus).
Don't forget that Israel was socialist and the only actual assistance it received at the time (aside from Jews world-wide), was a small arm delivery from Czechoslovakia (which of course was a Soviet puppet-state).
You can even open Google and simply search "Arab-Israeli war" ot "UK-Israel historical relations" to see how incredibly wrong what you wrote is.

I always loved the Orwellian term "peace-keeping force."

Miss the 10-Minute Videos to be honest. They always felt really high quality and the detail along side the humour always made me enjoy them whereas the short videos always feel like they end before they can really begin so to speak. Would love if you posted some more of the 10-minute videos?
I had to pause the video and finish laughing, after I saw that one of the UN peacekeepers had "DEUX" on his helmet. Gold.
I've seen the occupation on old maps, and heard about the nationalization of the canal, I had no idea they were all the same thing, nor that it was an international political scandal... I'm so glad i found this one!

Egypt kinda did steal what was theirs. Was invasion the right answer? Probably not.
Then they pulled the uno reverse card when it came to Vietnam.

Anyone here after the ship got stuck?
right here with you brother
Yeaaaaa
Same
Yep
Heyyy
Noticed how it’s called “Suez Crisis” and not “Suez War” since Western Powers downplayed this war to make it less significant in the public eye, even though at least 4 countries were involved (UK, France, Israel vs Egypt) with around 4000 people fought and died ending in Egypt victory. Just because Egypt wanted to nationalize the Suez Canal from former colonial powers.
4,000 deaths hardly constitutes a war, more people have died in border skirmishes throughout history than this conflict
Interesting
Israel agreed to fight because Egypt funded terror cells, closed the straights of Tiran and closed the suez for Israel, so Israel did have a solid reason to attack, Britain and France though..
@@EL-oj6uq The reason Egypt did that is because Israel is an illegitimate state. Simple.

One thing about the map - Gaza was part of Egypt until the six days war (1967), and Egypt gave its claim on it only with the Israel-Egypt peace treaty (1979).
Yup this is constantly left out of maps for some reason, it's almost like Hamas were there since 1948 xD
Not giving them gaza was our biggest mistake
@N. Brio Da Zuera how was it not a mistake?
Finally, a video where nobody dies at the start.
