Thankyou very much for your very informative chat about celogynes. Also thanks to Rachel I guess. I have C Linda Buckly moreana x christata. And C christata. This one has very round pseudo bulbs. This is my first attempt 🙏I grow my orchids in my kitchen, come conservatory🤣in the uk. This could become a dangerous addiction. Love your videos, amazing plants.
Would you know if the plant coelogyne christata starts as very round pseudo bulb, whilst young. I bought mine, on line two pots each with five bulbs about golf ball size. Most have two leaves. I'm guessing they must be very young. In your knowledge would you say they might actually bloom before I expire.😉
I've never grown a Coelogyne orchid before. Yours are beautiful! I just purchased a Coelogyne Carinata. It's a seedling I think since it was in a 2.5 inches pot in moss. I moved it into a 3 inches clay pot. I potted it in lava rock with a little moss mixed in. I'm growing it indoors in medium light. I'm going to watch your care videos so hopefully I can get this little plant to grow and flower. Thanks Matthew
I’ve got Unchained Melody too and it definitely does well in cold climate. Also, does not require as much light as other orchids to bloom. I also have a mooreana (young, never bloomed) and Coelogyne nitida which loves Melbourne too.
Hi Mathew☺️🙌💞Your coelogynes look amazing🥰👏I have been growing intermedia for a good year and it loves, loves water all summer and yes!, bright shade away from the dreaded August heat. I did buy a coelogyne fimbriata that is in plentiful supply all year as small divisions and cuttings. It has glorious yellow flowers with a brown lip, and it grows from Nepal all the way into Vietnam. Sea level to 1500 meters
Hi Matthew, Love these coeologynes. I’m just wondering if there is a reason that you haven’t removed the brown papery leaf bracts and sheaths around the base of the pseudo bulbs?
Coloegynes grow well in Jamaica. I watched Gardening with Calyx. She has a beautiful healthy coloegyne.

No reason...other than lack of time! They all seem perfectly happy.
Looks like you need a bit of space for these.😮😊💯🪴🥰
They can get bulky! Thanks for watching!
