You flew all that way to Austin to get Panda Express? What's wrong with you?
But seriously, Kay is about the safest and most professional pilots I've ever seen. Always ahead of the airplane, a stickler for checklists and monitoring her systems. Attention to detail. Great job as always. Big fan
I would fly to get Panda everyday. Gotta get the honey walnut shrimp.
Agree. Great Pilot! Love her videos.
Kaye I would consider cessna 310
Hello Kay. I am 73 years old and really enjoy your flights. Hope you keep it up for a long time.
Just turned 70..how did we get this old already??😮
Greetings, Miss Kay! I’ve never seen someone so imminently destined to become an airline pilot than you. You are exactly the pilot I’d want behind the controls of any airplane I would happen to be on. Clearly, you would be a high-value asset to any airline operation.
You asked your viewers to suggest interesting destinations for that proverbial "$100 hamburger”. Because you’ve spent time in Arizona, surely you know about this one, Sedona Airport, located in the gorgeous Red Rock area, arguably the second-most scenic and beautiful place in Arizona-The Grand Canyon would take the top honor, of course.
It’s hard to imagine any pilot in Arizona not visiting this marvelous airport on a plateau. The approach is breathtaking: one moment you are high above the ground; the next you’re merely a few feet above the runway. Taking off is deliriously fun for the opposite reason: moments after leaving the runway you are suddenly looking way, way down at one of Arizona’s foremost tourist destinations. It’s exhilarating!
In my flying experience, during the ten years I owned an airplane in the 1980s, there was no more thrilling place to go than Sedona. It’s on-airport restaurant was excellent, as much for the stunning view as the yummy food. I once landed there after a winter snow; nothing in my flying days was more memorable and astoundingly beautiful. (I long ago failed my 3rd-class medical, so I now leave those thrills to young people like you, then live the flying life vicariously through your videos. Thank you for that!)
I realize Sedona is nowhere near your hometown. However, because you would be traveling in an outstanding airplane-which couldn’t be more fun to fly!-making that trip should not be out of the realm of possibility. Of course, that would make the excursion more of a "$200 hamburger” affair, but would be so worth it. Let’s face it, New Mexico and Arizona are home to some of the most interesting and scenically gorgeous terrain America has to offer. What’s not to love? Sedona, AZ, a Must-Do destination.
50 years ago I flew with a good friend of my brother in his Piper Tri-Pacer. We left from Airpark Dallas and flew to Paris, TX. I still remember that flight like it was yesterday. There's nothing like it! Things have changed a bit. iPad's and better avionics sure make things look easy. Nice job Kay! You remind me of my friend from years ago. Very by the book and very careful. That's the only way to fly.
It's very interesting to watch you and listen to you go through all that's necessary to get Lil Red to her destination. Very informative and enjoyable videos.
Howdy Kay, another fun flight. Retired enroute controller and GA pilot
(grounded). Sharing my perspective. Go with a light twin, 4 seats no more because things get complicated and you will still have fun and a second engine for the over water legs. Scout out local twin schools and ask them what and why they fly what they fly, plus It would help if you dropped/flew in with a dozen doughnuts. The first crossing restriction was At 3000 and you read back At Or Above. He did not correct you because 1. He missed it 2. He thought AOA, close enough 3. I will correct later. Either way it happens and typically you cross at anyway. One more thing and not to scare but prepare, there has been a rash of twin training accidents while flying minimun speed on one engine. Search YT for related reports. Know Before You Go! Cheers...
Great commentary...👌
about 2 months ago I made some suggestions like yours and she hit me with a 24 hr comment ban. I posted one yesterday concerning her pre T/O check list and she let it stand. Your suggestion is well noted and would hope she would learn from other's mistakes as well.
@easttexan2933 thanks for the feedback!! Watching the video, it was something that occurred to me....tech is great but as pilots we always need to anticipate the inevitable!!!!
@@ClearedAsFiled do you follow the big 4?
Probable Cause, Blancolirio, FlyWire, Hoover? Great discussions on fatals and AQP training.
@easttexan2933 yes...all great discussions!!
Those ATC controllers hopefully brought along some throat lozenges. I can't imagine the constant high pressure of complete brain engagement of an ATC controller to get everything right to keep everyone safe.
I have a friend who is an air traffic controller. Some ATC controller jobs are fast paced, some are slow paced, and some are no paced. It all depends on the number of aircraft being handled at any given time of day or night. 🥸
You are doing fantastic. You're talking and you're giving us directions and you're filling us in on what you're doing.
And I'm watching you find the airplane. And watches our controls and everything's in the greand you're and you're getting level off to get to your destination. You're getting it be a I think you're a good pilot
Kay, love your videos and look forward to all the new ones. I had to give up my pilot training back in Nashville a number of years ago as the flood of 2010 wiped out the little airport I was training at, got too expensive for this old guy at the other regional training centers but enjoy following along with your flights. Keep up the good work and happy flying!
I’m sorry to hear that David! But I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos🥰
@@FlyWithKay Thanks Kay, after much debate with myself I have my flight bag out, going to try and give it another shot once I find a somewhat affordable program. Im an old guy and it might take me time but waited 10 years and that enough. Wish me luck, I'll need it!
Appreciate you sharing your moment you seem so nice
Great flight, Kay! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video as usual Kay. Thank you for doing what you do!
You are a great pilot!! Also, you are hilarious! Miss positivity!❤️ you must be a joy to be around!
Love how you do your notes. I always found keeping up with ATC and ground control difficult
Good afternoon, Kay. Enjoy your flight ✈️ You are such an inspiration to all your ladies out there.
Good luck on your new aircraft purchase. Cant wait to see what you get and where you go beyond USA!
St Maarten is the place where you have the beach next to the airport Kay. Its Maho beach and it is amazing just seeing planes fly in and out.
Glad you're back! Missed watching your videos.
Felt like going flying today so thanks for taking us along. Duel prop is cool but as you may know when you loose one of the engines in flight there is a balance adjustment that needs to be corrected quickly
Absolutely love these videos. Learning things and very interesting. Than k you Kay! :)
Glad You are back, enjoyed the Video, thanx for sharing. Looking forward to next Video, Love Flying with Kay.😃
I love your process diligence!
great video and super flying. Thank you Captain!
Kay, I enjoyed "flying with you" to Austin. I flew in there a number of years ago although it was just a landing, reposition, and departure. Best of luck in your new endeavors this year. Happy flying 🙂.
Great video, thanks for taking us along! Best wishes on selecting your next airplane! 👍😎
Love watching you Kay always cool to watch your travels.
Don’t know anything about them but a Cessna 310 is a beautiful airplane. Maybe you can pick up where 310Pilot left off!!
I followed 3110pilot a lot, Love Kevin and Jamie, miss them.
@@donmiller8186 Me too!!
I agree Bonnnie, Kay you are a real pro. Enjoy watching.
OMG you're back glad to see you posting a new video I was missing my right seat therapy I love it 143❤
Thx Kay...nice flight and approach..
Nice to see you back as the PIC. Always safe and fun!
I am glad to of been with you for the last 40 mins, Kay, you are a lovely young lady, with such enthusiasm, and awareness, you really do know were you are at, and were you are going and ...., what you are doing, keep up the good work,
Hi Kay thanks for some great content …love to watch your hands on the controls your so informative love your air speak too , thanks again Ian down under
Just caught this video, I wish I would have known you were coming to EDC - I live nearby and am a planespotter/photographer. I could have taken some shots of your landing and take-off.
Not surprised to see your channel grow---great content !!!
Good to see you back.
Thanks for sharing
I absolutely love your plane. One of my top 5 favorite planes of all times.
In awe of how you even begin to understand tower guys who speak so quickly and some hardly audible.
Love the wing cams on this episode... As always I enjoy your checklist.
Hey thank you! The wing cam is my personal favorite😊
@@FlyWithKay
Wing cam always look great. If I may please ask, do you just fly for pleasure or is this your job? Hope to see you flying multi engine as a captain for a major airline soon.
Thanks for another great video! If i was going to get a twin it would be either the Diamon DA42 or DA62, both great airplanes burning Jet A and a great FADEC engine control system, single control lever per engine, no mixture setting or prop setting to worry about, takes a lot of the workload off the pilot.
Can you do a wonderful job and we all appreciate you! I am one person or family member that really appreciates what you do and how you do it. God bless you have fun and fly safe!
Pro!! Love your videos 🫡
Wow that is an amazing flying of you Kay by your 50 year old plane to Austin. You are truly genius Kay in flying airplanes.
Hi Kay! I have been following you only for a couple of months now. I love your professionalism and the fact you are so thorough and consistent when you fly. I learned how to fly in a traumahoc but moved up to the Cherokee shortly after getting my Private pilots license. As fate would have it I’m still in the aviation field but I’m in the back of the fortified cockpit door not up front. Twin engine airplane? Can’t go wrong with the Navajo if you want another Piper. Cessna 310 would be my other choice! Safe travels as always and let me know if you know any peeps from SWA! (32 year f/a)!!
Hi Kay. Really enjoying your videos. Watching from France and really loving your accent and comments!!
Three-in-the-green, Kay. Thanks!
The windows look AWESOME............no more streaks!!
Great video, enjoyed listening to you
Kay....I'm thrilled I found your channel. I'm 65 years old and you are living my dream. So glad for you. I live just North of Austin so I know where Austin Ex is. I'm looking forward to your flights. May the wind be calm, the air smooth, and the landings equal the takeoffs.
The UA-cam bot led me to your channel and I’ve watched a few of your videos now. Little Red is a beautiful little plane. I really enjoy when you explain the reason for some of your checklist items and other operations as you perform them. You seem like a natural teacher, a genuinely positive and thoughtful human, and a good safe pilot. I’d be glad to have you as a pilot whether going out for a burger in your Piper, or flying across the world in a jumbo jet. Consider me a new Kayviator. Liked and subscribed. Alright!
Welcome aboard and thanks!
Multi-Engine! Exciting!! Great video. Love IFR.
Thank you! Me too😎
Just one more thing. I hope to be around for a long time watching your videos. PLEASE PLEASE do your Vmc homework before selecting a twin. Pay for safety.
Hello 👋kay... Excellent work for showing your flights✈️ so much more than one.
Well done, Kay 👍
We visited Austin for my Nephew's wedding during Austin City Limits weekend. Wow! It was crowded but we ate at some of the nicest casual restaurants.
Thank you so very much for your video an awesome information and also always fly safe
Hello Kay - My favorite light twin is a Cessna 310. If I could afford one (and had my multi engine rating) that would be my choice. I have been checked out in (and got my license in) a Piper Warrior as well as Cessna 172s. Happy hunting and (borrowing from 74gear) “keep the blue side up!”
Yeah, you’re back!
Flying is the definition of multi-tasking!
Love the nails Kay!
All woman!
Safety always first!
Nothing wrong with being nitpicky about the checklist
Aim High Fly Right!
I Enjoy Your Videos Sweet Kay! GOD Bless! ❤️😘✝️
U r a realy awsome pilot
Lookin Good stay safe 🛩
Greetings! You are one of the inspirations why i started flying.
Great video
Great video,practicing good piloting, Pete
Can't wait to see what multiple engine you purchase!
Another awesome video Kay, looked like an amazing day for flying! Regarding the airport with the beach at the end of the runway, St. Maarten (Princess Juliana International) is the one and is an aviation fan hot spot 😁
Thank you Kay for taking us along for lunch. Really loved this video
Love your content
Thank you! I love your support!
Hey Kay. Gotta say that wing mounted camera is awesome.
Nice landing. Great job.👍
Thank you!
I love the plane you fly now Kay
Thanks Danny!
Gratulations, your video's it is very good, continue making more videos. bye bye. Have good flights.
Kay, thanks for sharing your flights with us. Love them. With a 30.58 pressure, I can see why you had a bumpy approach.
I have lown on a Barron. It was really nice and landed on a smaller runway. Good luck on your search.
Hi Kay I also enjoy your flights
Nice landing Kay
I used to fly the Cherokee and it is an awesome aircraft. I would recommend keep yours. You can still fly international with it. I am hoping to get back in the air, just looking for the necessary funds. Keep up the good work, always enjoy your videos.
I'm in northern Arizona enjoyed your videos good job !!🎉
Awesome Flight! 👍👍 Coolio! I just went to Panda Express last week.. I love their large bowl meals..
1978 Grumman Cougar GA-7 is a possible choice...Very ecomomical on fuel and can possibly seat a total of six. Just a very classical and RARE aircrafts. My friend owns and flies frequently with it. Been flying with him for 10 years in it. Very stable aircraft and straightforward controls as well.
That was my first thought as well. Especially after watching Rebuild Rescue save one. Jason has a line on 1 or 2 more to rescue.Might reach out to Jason again.
Good morning,
We (the wife and I) really enjoy watching your content. I a m a 59 y/o SEL and working my way up to MEI. I have been looking at the Baron family for my goal airframe and I’m sure you have looked at them as well. Looking forward to following your missions no matter which platform you choose. As always, Clear Sky’s and safe flights!
Hello! Please tell the wife I say hi! Very cool that you’re working on your multi! Yes, I have looked at the baron, and they are VERY nice😍
18:30 Diamond DA 62 is a nice twin engine. Full Glass.
Hi Kay from the dominican republic I love how you fly your old red bird keep the sky safe and fun we love your flying videos 🎉
Awesome flight. For your multi-engine you should consider a restored B-17. That would get some attention!
Can hear you good with the updates going on.
Great day to fly
I always loved the easy IFR flights. Dodging TS+ in IMC isn't fun in a small airplane. I flew a Mooney M20C and that was a great airframe :)
I agree, much more calm and relaxing on nice days! I looked into the mooneys but it didn’t seem like there was much space for the pilots. What do you think?
The early vintage Mooney body was skinny. The M20C was built in 1964 so there was a skill you had to develop to get in and out. However, it was a solid platform, and with a few mods flew fast and you could really dial back the engine and get over 8 hours in the air with a decent airspeed. The newer models even have anti-icing equipment. Don't buy one without a few flights under your belt to make sure it's your style. You mentioned looking at a multi-engine platform. That was always a dream of mine so don't give up on that goal.@@FlyWithKay
I enjoy your channel!
Diamond DA42 will be great multi engine aircraft 😍 beautiful kit 😊
Kay love watching your videos, I live in Washington South of Seattle I know you were living there for a while Take care.
When you got handed off to the tower you said "checking in." I was always taught to let them know you're on the instrument approach. They should know that but especially on a clear day when most people are doing visual approaches they may give you some wonky pattern entry instructions.
I used to fly a C model Mooney with the same engine, Lycoming O360. Very reliable.
At 77 yo Kay I no longer can fly and your videos brings back the days I was able to enjoy flying...thank you young lady! If you are thinking twin..give a thought of a Spymaster...very safe twin and a work horse..bigger bang for your bucks..see you next time making holes in the sky...be smart and safe.
Hi! Thank you for the recommendation, I will look into it! Did you fly just for fun or as a career?
A Spymaster? So...a Cessna 007?
I was working toward a career but life took a turn ..family sickness plus my own sickness put an end to a life dream..but it may have been meant to be.. at least I accomplished part of my dream as a young man,..I learned what it took to fly.@@FlyWithKay
Hello Kay, i following you for a month now and really injoy your video, I injoy it so much I am going for mi AME and going for my Discovery flight in two weeks. I am starting late in life. but you have shoun me it is safe. thank you hope to see more flight.
IF I was a private pilot with a plane (i'm next to DWH airport) I would fly across country to Florida , then south and island hop across the Bahamas to the Virgin Islands.
A very good Saturday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset in the UK 🇬🇧
I flew helicopters (private not commercial) in UK for 10 years. Not the same weather as you get in Texas! I love watching your videos, they are both instructional and entertaining, thanks for sharing (and I totally get flying an hour for a great hamburger)
I would love to fly helicopters, that’s awesome!
Well, good day to you Ma'am. I must say that you are the most professional pilot I have seen on this platform and I'm going to enjoy watching your other videos in the future. I am a new subscriber to the channel. As a Brit' I found your speech at the beginning really hard to understand, but now I have my "American to British English Dictionary" open, I am really enjoying the video. I thought that you were saying "Turkey 7738N" as your call sign, but watching the video at half speed, I worked out that you were saying "Cherokee 7738N!" Fly safe! ☺.
I'm so happy for you, considering a new plane. I didn't hear you say. Would you keep Lil Red? As always, I enjoyed your flight. Happy trails. You might talk to Jimmy's World for a recommendation.
Bet you don't like a tail wind when Pops is aboard lol. Cheers: Robert
