Bit of a short video this week to tide you over -- lots of big projects on the horizon!
I love your channel and how well done your videos are. Keep up the good work 😁
Lots of thanks for covering this movie ! Can't wait for dream.warriors.!
I would love too see you do Hellraiser sometime. I enjoy your content have a good weekend !
To me, what surprised me is that this film is known to be the gayest film of the Nightmare series.
U forgot that Jessie’s family has pet birds and Wes craven loved birds and I hope u add the part where Phillip was talking about he’s not allowed to have a pocket knife for his puppet projects cuz there scared it will cut his veins later on Freddy did that scene with Phillip by cutting of his veins!
The scene with the bus teetering on the top of that tiny little cliff always scared me like crazy as a kid.
Same. Actually gave me nightmares
I had nightmares about it as a kid...I also rode the bus almost everyday
I appreciate this sequel for taking risks and trying something else.
i agree, one of my favs tbh. same as Halloween SOTW
Agreed! I see it as an alternate take on ANOES..totally separate from the other sequels
Agreed!
Agree. Not the best one IMO but I watch it with pleasure at every rewatch
The 1st 4 are all great movies for their own different reasons imo
And it's one of the more interesting franchises imo, because of how different they all are
I don't think the last 2 of the originals are bad, but they lacked in horror aspects too much for me to put them in the same category
I know an argument can be made that the 4th movie is where it drops, and I see signs of it myself but I think the creativity of it sorta makes up for some silly parts
I would probably rate...
1. 3. 2. 4. 5. 6.
The new nightmare was fantastic and deserves to be considered with 1 to 4 imo
Jason vs Freddy was fun as it's own thing, but it wasn't a great horror as such imo
The reboot was the worst of the franchise...
However, I did see some good things in that film, that made me think...
This franchise could be rebooted, it could work
I wasn't sure before it came out, because Robert made Frddy his own so much
Unlike evil dead you can't replace the main character and just tell it...
You have to have Freddy
So yeah...
I want another reboot lol
Nightmare 2 is an odd one. I always thought of it as more of a psychological horror than a slasher. Jesse latches on to the stories and ideas of Freddy in Nancy's journal and uses them as an outlet for his repressed sexuality. All of the 'Freddy' moments are just the reality that he has created in his head, even though he himself is the real killer.
Interesting theory but it wouldn't explain the impressive display of power at the pool party. Freddy was able to lock Lisa's parents in their room and lock the gates outside to keep the people at the party from escaping his massacre. Jesse by himself couldn't do all of that.
@@trickq5883 That's true. You could maybe say that Jesse just locked them beforehand, since he's kind of a nobody and no one would really notice him during the party. But still.
It also doesn't explain the 'unimportant' supernatural stuff like the bird or the dog Lisa sees at the end. Nothing about them adds rationality to Jesse's delusion...though as I list them, it suddenly strikes me that both of these things deal with corrupting animals, so maybe there's something in that idea, related or unrelated to my theory.
“Help yourself fuker!” One of my favorite Freddy lines
This was my favorite movie growing up as a kid. The ending always left me feeling creeped out though.
Another thing worth noting, 4 years later Wes Craven made a film called Shocker, which in my mind was him seeing this and thinking, "You know, Freddy possessing people isn't that bad of a idea"
Severely underrated sequel. It was the last time Freddy was genuinely scary.
new Nightmare?
@@vercrackterrattenschaschli9706 Correction - it was the last time he was scary until New Nightmare.
no he’s not scary in NN
Biggest thing I missed? CZ’S STRAIGHT?!?
x - doubt
The shock was CZ saying he's "straight."
Yeah, lol, that's pretty far fetched.
@@dench2695
He couldn't even watch the movie straight.
CZ, I was actually closeted myself when this movie came out! Thank you for pointing out all the Easter eggs. I was aware of a lot of them, but there were still a lot I missed. Also your commentary is hilarious!
Freddy Revenge is so criminally underrated and A Badass sequel that kick ass and has the most scariest looking Freddy Kruger.
I love how the director has stuck to the story that he had no idea of the heavy gay under AND overtones of the film. When you watch the actor's interviews where this comes up, they roll their eyes and dodge the question, while the lead actor guy calls it bullshit directly. Didn't the director deny, but passive-aggressively admit that maybe he had a vague thought about it at some point during shooting, but dismissed it in the documentary "Scream, Queen Scream!"?
He did, and he was so smug about it!
I thought the guy who played Jesse was gay irl
@@angelux2793he was but didn't admit it at the time, which must've made it even uncomfortable for him
@@angelux2793 Oh, he is, that's why he called bullshit when the director claimed he had no idea about the gay references. I mean, I have to agree with him (Jesse), there's no fucking way a director is shooting a scene in a gay fetish leather bar, and doesn't go "hmm...are those leather daddies leading each other around by dog collars and black pleather assless horse riding chaps going to make my movie come off as a little homoerotic? Lol. I'm pretty sure that's why "Jesse" got so pissed off about it sufficiently enough to make that documentary....essentially the director felt shame later for directing it after reading the script (he probably found Jesus...that's how these things usually go) and the actor flew off the handle.
Now, I know nobody asked my opinion, but the documentary about how that movie ruined his ("jesse's") was tragic. He didn't track down the writer or producer (the ones who commonly alter/edit/write scripts)...just the director...so he clearly was pissed about that specifically. Also, he whines about that role costing him his career. He never takes ownership of the fact that he read the script, he knew it was the 80s and gay men that couldn't act straight had very few opportunities, but he knew it was a huge breakout role in the lead after the first NOES smashed. So, he took it in full knowledge that it was a gamble...and that doc was literally 2 hours of him whining, stalking the director until he agrees to talk on camera, and then doing everything but waterboarding the guy until he admits that maaaybe he had a fleeting thought about the vibe, but was too busy to ask around about it. I thought I was going to be in "jesse's" corner when I started the doc, and by the end I felt bad for the director. He's lucky I wasn't the director. I'd have told him "it's not my fault, and it's got nothing to do with which gender you're into....you haven't gotten acting gigs because you're a raging 6 year old that didn't get his way at the age of 58, and you have the face of a boll weevil. That's why you haven't gotten work, and I'm gay too, so don't try that shit on me." hahaha
@@angelux2793 Mark is and David Chaskin, the writer of the screenplay, blamed the film’s bad reception on Mark which caused him to be basically blacklisted by the entertainment industry, prematurely ending his career as an actor. David Chaskin admitted to purposely putting the closet theme in the film because he thought it’d be absolutely terrifying for a guy who thought they were a hetero their whole life to find out they’re actually gay via it literally clawing its way out of him. David also purposely threw in that weird bit with Lisa “saving” him from being gay with a kiss (a heterosexual encounter). Anywho, *Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street* is a great documentary that covers Mark’s side of what happened during and after the filming of ANOES 2. It did a way better job than *Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy* which made the whole situation one big joke.
Lol "I just decided to stay straight" mmhmmmm we see you Cz.
I still say that freddys make-up in Freddy revenge is one of the scariest in the series.
I know we'll probably never get it but I'd love a nightmare-esque film where Jessie's actor comes back as a side character or even a protagonist role.
He's dead..
@@Stigmatix666 Seriously? That's awful!
@@ashleightompkins3200 Didn't you see how part 2 ended?
@@Stigmatix666 I meant the ACTOR, not the character!
The actor can be seen in the recent horror movie "Swallowed".
You mentioned that it was weird the bars on the top floor were still there while the ones on the bottom were not. To me, that just tells me the dad started taking them off the bottom floor before the movie began and continued during the movie. Since they had been living there for a while before the movie started, it makes sense to me.
Yeah, it would be logical to start with the easy ones, even taking a long break before moving on to the bars in the second floor.
Has the guy that’s responsible for the undertones been interviewed? I am cackling at how he was playing in our faces🤣🤣🤣. I love it!
Cant believe this movie was released in 1985 was last year, looking forward to what 1986 holds in store for us
In my opinion, this was the best Freddy makeup/effects in the series.
Bro I love your content I’m 14 now and I watched you since 8 big horror fan Czs
Sticking around for 6 years kinda does make you a bit of a veteran despite your age

Hell ya CZ spooky season is upon us ! Great timing for dropping this video
the ending of this video was the embodiment of the meme "Oh ni**a, you gay, hahaha"
Glad to see another CZsWorld video, especially since this was my first horror movie as a kid, wish I could still find the dvd it was on.
CZ, you're usually not tactful, but in this video you are lol. Love it.
I rewatched this Wednesday night and I enjoyed it even more than I did when I was younger.
I love this movie because it makes Freddy even scarier. If there’s no concise mythology between the films than that shows, he can be anything at any time depending on who he’s trying to kill.
always a great day when a new CZsWorld video drops
you know today is gonna be good when CzsWorld posts
It's often been said that they tried to hire a cheaper stuntman to play Freddy. The shower scene where Freddy walks so stiff in the fog is still the stuntman playing him. He was wearing a rubber Freddy mask for the scene.
Never understood the hate for part 2. Loved this one it was dark and gory.
Nightmare 2 is honestly so underrated. I feel it gets the Halloween 3 treatment because it wasn't what audiences expected, and that's really sad.
Plus Mark Patton deserves the recognition of being an 80s Scream Queen
So underrated.
the movie doesnt make sense so it isnt underrated, its not that great. It's a good Freddy though.
Dude. You break my heart by insisting on being straight. But also, thank you for how you handled this. It shows a lot of growth on your part and I appreciate it. This movie kind of sucks but it’s still an important piece of horror history.
What does this mean
1,2,3 are all so good in their own weird ass way. Classics all of em.
Zac never fails to make me happy thank u man
Glad to hear it
@@CZsWorldthe fourth a nightmare on elm street is my favorite the dream master. From 1988.
THEORY: The entire movie is one long dream sequence.
Not a single second of film takes place in the "real world", which is why Freddy doesn't need to adhere to the "rules" set forth in the other movies.
Would make sense as Jesse and Lisa are never seen again or talked about in the later movies not even the comics
I think Wes just saw how bad the sequel was that he couldn’t continue from it when making Dream Warriors
OR..... It's just poorly thought out, written by a different screenwriter from the original.
That's kinda how I saw it. Part of what makes it so great. And why #3 is also so good
Great work, brother. Thank you for all these videos. You rule.
Jesse scream is the best part of the movie 🤣
this movie is respectable for trying new stuff but the only part i could get behind is when freddy attacks the pool party that part was dope
Another great video keep up the great work CZs World 💯👍🏼👌🏻
One of my favorites, thank you
Amazing how they decided to go with the title of Freddy's Revenge when this is basically the only movie with no connections other than Nancy's name. With that in mind, I do enjoy that this movie is on its own. I'll watch the films back-to-back and skip out on this one only because I can enjoy it solo. I treat it like I do with Halloween 3.
Also sucks how the only time Nancy is mentioned is her journal which has a continuation error Nancy wrote that Freddy went under the sheets and tore her nightgown when all that happened to Tina not Nancy
the way Jesse read all that sounded like something you would see on wattpad or ao3 the whole movie feels just like some weird Freddy fanfiction down to the final girl kissing him at the end 😭
The content on this channel is already top notch. But you being a fan of YTP's is even better CZ👍
Oh COOOL!!! I just noticed your plaques!! AWESOME!! love how you make you virtual set alive!! CONGRATS!
I'm wondering if anyone else caught this. I just caught it, maybe, a month ago. All these years. Anyway, when the fire is going along the banisters in the abandoned power plant at the end, Robert moved his arm to make sure he wouldn't get burned for real. I don't know how I missed it for so long, but am I the only one?
Perfect timing of this video with the release of "Dylan's New Nightmare", While I thought the video was short. (Which was the point.) But it was done pretty good. As for part 2? You brought so many things I missed apparently! lol
I imagined Jesse and Lisa become the horror world’s Will and Grace. 🤷🏻♀️
Great Video!
Love your videos
When I was growing up I had a nightmare on Elm Street 2 on VHS so I can't tell you how many times i watched this movie growing up
Great video zack
I’ve actually been to bars back when I used to drink that would let anyone in and anyone buy booze. It was weird and kinda creepy to be honest. This was in Providence Rhode Island which I didn’t know was such a freaking ghetto until I went to that bar there
I credit this movie for making Freddy very scary in the one shot with the focus on his eyes. It’s very disturbing
A reverse Kubrick
In the bar scene, when Jesse orders the drink from Robert Shay, I could have sworn that the the woman standing to the left of him with her back to the bar, was Jennifer Rubin as Taryn White, hanging out in the bar before she is committed to Westin Hills, in the next movie. For some reason, when I first saw this when I was really young, I thought that girl standing with her back to the bar was supposed to be the Jennifer Rubin character that we would get to know better in the next movie, in order to make this film cannon to the rest of the series.
It would actually make sense, considering her background when you think about it.
Yeah, in Taryn's final dream sequence in part 3, the neon sign should have read Don's Place instead of Jake's Bar. And if anyone wants to say that Taryn couldn't have gotten in there being underaged, once again Jesse got in there so, self-explanatory.
Yeah, I believe that punk chick is Taryn.
I was hoping you'd upload today!
CZ, I loved your hilarious tactful approach to this movie. I was a kid when I first saw it so I missed all the underline stuff. I didn’t like it because it confused me by breaking the rules established in part 1. Oh and it still counts bro! 😂
FINALLY A NEW VIDEO WE MISSED YOU BUDDY
My favorite part is when Freddy is by the pool and tells the kids "your all my children now" 😂😂
Cannot wait for Dream Warriors breakdown these shows are awesome. Keep em' coming please.
It would’ve been cool if they did a nightmare on elm during Christmas since you brought it up
I think the TV show had a couple Christmas episodes. Wouldn't have minded seeing those expanded.
I always thought it made more sense that only Jesse sees Freddy in this one. He commits the killings while sleep walking and it’s not really possession, but influence and psychological break. Jesse’s perception Freddy is the villain, hence the mirror, but every one else sees Jesse.
Thanks, Professor. I'm glad we're all still here.
Thank you! Freddy is my favorite villain
This movie blew my mind when I was a kid in the 80’s.
That pool house scene was to hot for my 11 year old brain…lol
I recently watched this movie again and enjoyed it.
Classic Movie.
Also Great Since Of Humor Man.
Its been so long since i seen these movies and can only remember the first one and dream warriours
You know, I never realized that the sequel to Nightmare on Elm Street has a gay theme to it. I always thought that Jesse was acting that way because he knew he was possessed by Freddy and he was just spiritually fighting against Freddy. I guess, we really do learn new things everyday.
Here's something most people miss about Elm Street 2.
Its the first in the series that shows Freddy killing someone.
"But...but...but...the people he killed in Part I..."
You see the cuts happen on Tina, but don't see Freddy in the scene.
You see the rope strangle Rod but don't see Freddy in the scene.
You see Glen get pulled into the bed where Freddy kills him off-screen and the bed gushes blood afterward.
You see Nancy's mom get pulled through the window where she is presumably killed off-screen.
You see the glove cut the coach but it cuts to Jesse wearing it.
First on-screen death where it is Freddy and a victim in the same frame is a random extra at the pool party who gets his guts scrambled after Freddy jumps out of the pool.
good video keep it up
Debut of the horror scream queen
its between this and Dream warriors as my favorite Nightmare movies.
“How do you like that Dad?” -Jesse
I glad made more movies like these like things you miss
The homoerotic subtext of this movie was intense.
This video is so bittersweet: I’m happy that you have a new video but sad at how short it is. 😂
8:07 Worked for Anakin and Padme's relationship
Holy moly I never noticed the red and green lights before 😂
I admire this movie for its inclusion of homosexual innuendos during a time were LGBTQ people weren't really accepted that much in society
Also Jesse's screams never get old to me. No wonder why his actor was recognized as the first male scream queen
Me and my friend love this movie and lovingly refer to it as "the gayest horror movie of all time" whenever we talk about it with each other lol
@lynlovesthedead8983 you good there dude?
@@silentassason Even gayer than Friday the 13th part 7?
@@nickrustyson8124 not sure I haven't watched that one in a long time. Freddy was my boi and still my favorite slasher lol
@@nickrustyson8124 isn't that one considered gay just because many members of the cast are gay? I don't recall there being any gay subtext in that one. That was the first slasher movie I ever saw and it is responsible for getting me into the genre. I've seen it a bunch of times but haven't watched it in a long time
The mirror actually amplifies it, CZ. Sooo.....
It was interesting that they tried something new, and it's not a bad haunted house type film. Some of the implications are what you might call "unfortunate"
Lol Paste Green and Pink shirts on the two girls on the bus at the beginning
One thing that nobody has ever pointed out or even explained is why doesn't Freddy wear his glove when he kills Grady and when he's killing the party goers.
I never understood how such a cool guy was at home and in bed with such a party going on
He said that he was grounded because he threw his grandmother down the stairs
"Help yourself, f***er!"
This movie feels like goosebumps

great movie !!
I LOVE this film. It’s gay horror. Plus Freddy was genuinely scary
I know that people have an issue with the pool scene but Nancy pulled Freddy out of the dream realm in the first one
6:41 Lisa's dad is also wearing red and green.
UA-cam is terrible! I swear I had notifications set to all but when I just checked it was only set to personalized 🤦🏾♀️ I’m late but I’m here! 👍🏾
can you make one video of the new insidious? like thing’s you missed
I’ve been telling people that Stranger Things really should lead to a rediscovery of Nightmare 2. Will Byers’ whole storyline is a year-long remake, with the awkward and closeted gay kid in the ‘80s who’s being tormented by an evil spirit that’s using his fears and insecurities as a gateway to kill people in the real world.
I'm finally early (ish) to a video!!
I wonder if the Body Glove sticker had anything to do with Freddy wearing Jesse's body like a glove.
We need a paranormal activity franchise video!!,❤
It's sad how people interpret this for something it wasn't aimed for.
My thoughts exactly. He even mentioned the rainbow flag, which was NOT a symbol of the LGBT. It was still, at that time, a representation for my generation of peers, the Reading Rainbow early Millennials. It's as though he wanted to drench this beloved film in all things homosexual. The despair is too real. 🙄
CZ can you please make a video on Jeepers Creepers 🙏
