Im not sure if he mentions it, but when ghostface is attacking gill you can hear a woman’s voice when ghostface grunts meaning it’s Ms Loomis under the mask. On top of that Mickie is right handed and Ms Loomis is left handed. These small details are so interesting to me.
I saw this in the theaters. I was the only one who laughed at that scene. Friends gave me a weird look. I told them “remember in Scream, with Sidney’s luck, Tori Spelling would play her?” Others heard me too. All I hear is a collective “OOOH YEAH!” And laughter. Lol
My favorite small tidbit of this movie is actually Dewey's Theme music we here when he first shows up, because it was actually not made for Scream 2, but was the theme in the movie Broken Arrow in '96. They used the song as a placeholder until they got around to making Dewey's theme but they liked it so much they kept it in and gave Hans Zimmer a composing credit for its use.

Another thing you may have missed. When Randy is giving the rules for sequels to Dewey, he says two things and starts to say a third one, but never completes the thought. I always thought he was going to say, "If you want your sequel to turn into a franchise, never ever kill your recurring characters," meaning him - Randy. But because he is cut short in the thought, Ghostface ends up cutting his life short in this film. This then breaks the sequel rules.

Logistically, yes, though the original idea for Scream 3 was for Stu to return. Scream 3 was always going to have someone involved in the Woodsboro Murders, it's just that "who" changed during Scream 3's production. First being changed from Stu to Roman & Angelina, and then later Angelina's killer reveal & motivation being cut after all her other scenes were filmed so that Roman was the sole killer.

Plus I think he has the most compelling motivation: he finally found his mom and she didn’t want him. There’s a lot of pathos to that, even if the film glosses over it. On top of all that, he has a wacky Hollywood mansion with one-way mirrors and secret tunnels, like something out of a Clue game

I actually kind of enjoy scream 2 maybe even more than the original. The chase scenes like with Gail is in my opinion the best in the series especially with the suspense music they used. Speaking of which the suspense and environment settings are alot better than just trapping us in stus house for half of a movie.. we get the epic car chase for example.. the opening movie theatre scene..the recording studio chase scene.. Randy's big scene in the middle of an open public field of all places.. Just so much fun, absolutely love it! ❤ My only complaint would be to ask why on earth cotton just happens to turn up at the exact building Dewey is stabbed in for no reason.. like seriously why would he just show up there lol? Then again I saw ghostface stalking Sidney in a supermarket in full costume in the original and that was far worse 😆
Having David Warner in the movie as the drama teacher could also be a bit of A Nightmare on Elm Street reference. He was originally cast as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street. There are photos from a makeup test they did with him done up in costume and burn makeup.

I would like to bring up the fact that you mentioned the link between Final Girls and Greek Mythology. Suffice it to say, that there is a link between Final Girls and literature in general. For example, in Halloween the classroom scene with Laurie they’re talking about Samuels book and in it they talk about fate and how no matter what course of action they took they were destined to it. Corollary, in Scream 2 this same theme could be seen with Sidney as she can’t escape her connection to the Woodsborro murders so she learns to live with it to embrace it.
Scream is my fave scary movie. You’re not old enough to remember, but David Warner was a famous horror figure in the 1970’s and ‘80’s. I’ve always thought the scene where she’s talking to him, her drama teacher, was a red herring, much like Robert Englund was in Urban Legend.

I myself as a long time Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan can point out a interesting Easter Egg, Sarah Michelle Geller's character was known as Cici, which later on was pointed out that Cici wasn't her actual name, but a nickname for the initials C.C. for Casey Cooper, which I say would have to be a nod to BTVS, The original plan was that Charisma Carpenter (C.C.) was originally meant to play Buffy Summers, while Sarah Michelle was originally meant to play Charisma's character Cordelia Chase (C.C.) and even in one of the episodes, Xander actually called Cordelia "C.C." (which I'll admit, if not for that, I probably wouldn't of figured this whole thing out)

Matthew Lillard who played Stu Macher, is also playing as Steve Raglan / William Afton in the movie version of Five Nights at Freddy's wearing the animatronic costume of Spring Bonnie aka Springtrap , there is two things you should know: 1. at the end, he said this line " I always come back" and Stu said " I'll be right back" and 2. Before William Afton reveals his face, he wipes his knife the same way Ghostface does, which is a hint of both characters is a killer
Something I think he missed which made me assume Billy's mom was the killer was that Randy said something about a sequel and how the killer would be such a geek (or something similar) and I noticed Billy's mom in her first appearance trying to get all buddy buddy and "geeking out" with Gale saying how much of a fan she was which right off the bat made me hella sus, maybe it wasn't sus and I got very lucky, but to me it seemed very obvious 😂

i always took it when mickey says "youre not alone sid" as him meaning youre not going through this alone. so it was a neat twist you pointed out. also i always liked this sequel idk if its better than the first but it is a solid sequel overall. and the scene with the dooey in the room where gale cant hear him is one of my fav of all time
Not sure if anyone pointed it out, or if it's a real connection, but SMG's character Cici has a sorority sister named Dawn/Dawnie, and her character in Buffy has a sister named Dawn (calls her Dawnie) in a sort of reboot of Buffy's life (to include the sister for a larger purpose, but still). Also a call back to the first one is everyone ditching the party over a murder, leaving Sidney and her bf to get attacked, casting doubts on this bf where the first one it seemed to exonerate him. Just interesting.

11:26 The most damning evidence against Mickey for me is in the scene where he & Sidney are sitting at the police station after the attack on Sidney at the sorority house where finally Derek intervenes by going into the house to look for the killer. Mickey tells Sidney something along the lines of "Who would want to go back there anyway?" It is literally in the next cut that you see Derek telling the police that he went into the house to look for the killer, so how did Mickey know that information, unless he himself was the killer and saw Derek coming after him? You do kinda see Sidney's eyes flicker a little after Mickey made that comment to her at the station, a sort of giveaway for the audience to catch.

I myself as a long time Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan can point out a interesting Easter Egg, Sarah Michelle Geller's character was known as Cici, which later on was pointed out that Cici wasn't her actual name, but a nickname for the initials C.C. for Casey Cooper, which I say would have to be a nod to BTVS, The original plan was that Charisma Carpenter (C.C.) was originally meant to play Buffy Summers, while Sarah Michelle was originally meant to play Charisma's character Cordelia Chase (C.C.) and even in one of the episodes, Xander actually called Cordelia "C.C." (which I'll admit, if not for that, I probably wouldn't of figured this whole thing out)

Matthew Lillard who played Stu Macher, is also playing as Steve Raglan / William Afton in the movie version of Five Nights at Freddy's wearing the animatronic costume of Spring Bonnie aka Springtrap , there is two things you should know: 1. at the end, he said this line " I always come back" and Stu said " I'll be right back" and 2. Before William Afton reveals his face, he wipes his knife the same way Ghostface does, which is a hint of both characters is a killer

Something I think he missed which made me assume Billy's mom was the killer was that Randy said something about a sequel and how the killer would be such a geek (or something similar) and I noticed Billy's mom in her first appearance trying to get all buddy buddy and "geeking out" with Gale saying how much of a fan she was which right off the bat made me hella sus, maybe it wasn't sus and I got very lucky, but to me it seemed very obvious 😂

i always took it when mickey says "youre not alone sid" as him meaning youre not going through this alone. so it was a neat twist you pointed out. also i always liked this sequel idk if its better than the first but it is a solid sequel overall. and the scene with the dooey in the room where gale cant hear him is one of my fav of all time
Not sure if anyone pointed it out, or if it's a real connection, but SMG's character Cici has a sorority sister named Dawn/Dawnie, and her character in Buffy has a sister named Dawn (calls her Dawnie) in a sort of reboot of Buffy's life (to include the sister for a larger purpose, but still).
Also a call back to the first one is everyone ditching the party over a murder, leaving Sidney and her bf to get attacked, casting doubts on this bf where the first one it seemed to exonerate him. Just interesting.

11:26 The most damning evidence against Mickey for me is in the scene where he & Sidney are sitting at the police station after the attack on Sidney at the sorority house where finally Derek intervenes by going into the house to look for the killer. Mickey tells Sidney something along the lines of "Who would want to go back there anyway?"
It is literally in the next cut that you see Derek telling the police that he went into the house to look for the killer, so how did Mickey know that information, unless he himself was the killer and saw Derek coming after him?
You do kinda see Sidney's eyes flicker a little after Mickey made that comment to her at the station, a sort of giveaway for the audience to catch.
That's why I thought they played the ominous music right after Mickey said "back in the house" but then they immediately shift to Derek

Oh! Also, that striped sweater still could have been a Freddy Krueger reference. On older televisions the green stripes often looked black and this error even transfers to merchandise even now. While Craven would know it was green and red, could still count I would say.
