    Hello, thank you so much for these videos. I actually use a lot, I keep buying the six packs from Amazon, and I'm hoping to find a cheaper more natural route (less plastic waste & shipping pollution). I love using it on my face after a shower, and honestly I love using it for wiping in the bathroom (female) to stay fresh. We also use it here for cuts, sores, and scrapes and what not and I like to use it when somebody is experiencing a lot of emotional trauma or something I find that if you put it on the forehead it helps. Unfortunately, I live in the desert of Southern California so I will not be able to forage.. of course, I do still need to do more research, I may have some in the nearby mountains available. I will be extatic if I do. Thank you for the information in your videos, I'm learning a lot and you're great at covering anything that may come up.❤

    The vodka helps to pull the plant goodness out of the bark.

      Some of the constituents of the plant will only be extracted by the alcohol

    Hi, quick question in my country we don't have the witch hazel shrub, do when ordering we get dried leaves. What is the difference between making distilled witch hazel with bark and leaves

    the vodka preserves it so you can use it for two years.

      Thank you !
      I use it and could only guess as why as my grandmother never explained

  • @wildabezet860
    @wildabezet860 Рік тому +1

    Does it last for two years because it is distilled or do you add a preservative ?

    Do you ever mix home made rose water to your witch hazel?

    • @FoundYouForaging
      @FoundYouForaging  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't. How long is rose water storeable ?

    • @Bellllllz
      @Bellllllz 2 роки тому

      @@FoundYouForaging If you do it the same way you would witch hazel it should store for a year or longer. The way you do it it's technically an extract right? Here's a good recipe. ua-cam.com/video/-AvFyUWiY6k/v-deo.html
      There's people who don't catch it in a bowl from the steam off of a lid it and just boiled roses in water it only lasts a week refrigerated but the water is a really pretty pink, so if you wanted to do like a fancy pink bath for Dawn you could do it that way but to make the best of what you got I'd much rather do it where you catch the steam.

      @@Bellllllz if you ever run into a large quantity of violet , try making jelly from its flowers. The color is astounding , the flavor is very unique. Most recipes call for apple juice ( for various flower jelly) I never liked the idea because I felt it would taint the blossoms flavor. I use pear juice.
