This over cut roof penetration, under a flashing is one of the most common entry points. I’ve dealt with that same situation on both of our houses. They were two kitchen fan vents, and a bathroom fan vent. The rats got in the kitchens and were running on top of the cabinets. They actually opened the cabinet doors looking for food. I had a combination overhead microwave/kitchen vent. They actually crawled down the vent pipe and got into the microwave. We had rat shit falling into the food we were trying to cook on the stove. They eventually pissed on the circuit boards and ruined the microwave. The inside of the cabinet, where the vent pipe went up thru the attic was also over cut. They got into the cabinet, and were trying to chew thru the door. I fixed it by removing the vent cap and screwing 1/4” screen over the roof Jack, then was able to put the cap back on. I also sealed off the bottom of the over cut roof sheathing, and cabinet penetration with a sheet metal flashing. You need a full face respirator stirring up that rat shit under the house.

Those poor people. Holy cow, this is exactly why I didn't hire a pest control company in my area. They're only here to make a buck throwing down traps. I can do that! We unfortunately have the laziest contractors around. Electricians, plumbers, whatever the case may be. Myself and another female neighbor work on our houses and every time we find a solution. I find the problem, she works on the repair. She rocks climbing up ladders, repairing my roof, fixing my old cast iron pipe. Finally I got smoke candles from Grainger and we found the breach, rigged up the wet & dry vac just like you guys told us waaaaay back when. I had one other house in my life for 50 years, then moved out of the big city to rural America and never realized I could have a rodent problem. Lol, well I did. Drove me nuts doing exclusion work for four years. Every hole in this house sealed over four years and still rodents. Finally found a hole in the flat roof pipe and found the rodent entry. To finally breathe a sigh of relief after all those years. I completely get what these people went through. Rats gone in the summer and back in fall & winter every year. I had to think like a rat, you guys taught me that. In retrospect I was really a novice when I first started, I've come a long way with my neighbor. Exterminators really need some basic plumbing knowledge or tell the customer a plumber is required to finish the job...but they won't because then they would not continue milking the customer for all their money. Don't you guys think it's time to open a franchise business??? This is why you make the big bucks to make even bigger bucks having a company selling franchises.

You guys deserve to go to the White House, be recognized nationally, and to become billionaires.... I've watched many of your videos and believe this very one best summarizes your supremity in the VITAL matter of vermin abatement. I've fought roof rats successfully through years-long relentless diligence (and camera usage galore) at my home in Long Beach, CA. But I've never encountered Norway rats (aka sewer rats, diggers, etc) which plagued farms and New York City. It amazes me they exist in the hinterlands of greater Los Angeles. Yes, I've seen rats galore near Los Angeles Union Station; and I presume those are Norway rats... Can you give any generalized geographical coordinates, in this or future videos? e.g., we are roughly at the intersection of Beach Blvd and McFadden in Orange County, etc etc? God bless you and thank you for your EXCELLENT documentation and videography @@TwinHomeExperts

@10:07, I empathize with you. I refurbished/repaired a 1947 house in 2011, 2012 and remember well, low crawling all over under that house. Got it done and never saw any rodents (a few mouse turds), but I did put in screening especially under the tub. Where I live now in the country, we have a sudden infestation of rats in/under the chicken pen; working on it. The twins are right; rats are smart and you gotta keep changing up the game. 31 so far.

I know they chewed their way through filler stiffs because one place a man put filler in space around the toilet one of many entry points later on the sealer or filler were gone. where do you recommend in getting the rat traps you mentioned in video Thanks Brena

There’s some part of our minds that when we go under a house (the unthinkable becomes possible) The house may fall muwahaha I’m going to get stuck ? serious no it won’t but the preservation part of the mind creates possibilities that thank the good lord we can understand as being just that so we are cautious. I’ve seen these guys go where I’m not going but like you said big bucks. I’m tackling an issue now the city has begun excavation and repair on my block and I noticed the issue and started looking for entries I found several and the first night there were big momma rats literally waiting to go in but they couldn’t they were blocked by the new rat brother in the south lol

@@jeffcole1914 I have only had my mind play tricks on me once in a crawlspace in the course of 24 years .And it was if there is an earthquake I will be in big trouble and then my mind went wild for a few moments .I then went to a crawl vent and looked outside and that alleviated the thoughts. It was triggered by the feel of a beam on my back in a struggle to get through that space. Now when I am in in a tight space I always remember the rule exhale your air when you go through it makes your body just a bit thinner and it helps.

El Chapo would have had a lot bigger tunnel than that and you would be able to hop on a homemade motorized rail car motorcycle instead of crawling on your belly.

I shudder to think what that job cost the homeowner but considering all the bozos they paid prior? If they had just called the TWINS FIRST, the cost would've probably come in about the same...only better because the problem GOT SOLVED!😎👍
