- We are on the 3rd day of celebrating 1K subscribers and I am having a blast and I hope you all are too. This is a great fish to get and is a lot cheaper than the blue spotted jawfish. He loves his caves and doesn't want anyone coming near it either!

I really appreciate all these videos you put together.
Can’t thank you enough for coming out to watch em!
Brock you do a nice quick but pleasant, fun, informative job. Thanks.
ATF intheHouse I appreciate you😎
I absolutely love Watching your channel, it really helped me when you posted about the zebra eel video. I love all of your information and it is very useful and helpful!
This really means a lot Shelby☺️
2 questions: 1. Can they form a symbiotic relationship with shrimp and if so which species? 2. You recommend 30g but would they be able to live in a 20g nano reef with 2 clownfish and a dart fish?
I swear, these are the jumpiest fish ever
Had 2 of these once their like little dogs. So much personality
That is such a cute fish
My favorite fish
Do tiger jaw fish next !
Ooooo YES
I am wanting to get one. Some people online have built caves out of pvc and shells. Would you recommend I build something like that, or should I let the jawfish dig its own cave? I haven't set up the tank yet, this is all research and preparation.
I have 2 yellow headed jawfish with a fire goby and a dragonet together in a 55 and they share a cave what dose that mean
are they compatible with the emerald crab and clownfish
Yes!
@@BrockLeonard oh and I’d if you know but my clownfish it looks like he’s struggling and he’s being pushed to the left side of the fish tank and it looks like the current is pushing him I have the evo 5 gallon do you know?
@@BrockLeonard also my emerald crab last time I saw him was behind my rock now I don’t know where he went where could he have gone during feeding he doesn’t even come out
Who's Up?!!
Me
fish addicts never sleep!
Me. Thanks for your videos. You helped out a lot
Brock Leonard i am
What's up
So can not have one if I keep salinity at 1.025? Why 1.023
How often would you recommend to feed them
😢woke up this morning to find mine dead in the sump no clue how it got there since i have a screen on my overflow and lid on the tank
:( Sorry to hear about your loss. Did you have any openings large enough for it to jump through?
@@AbsoluteZero6714 nope and I don't think I'll ever come to understand how it happened
brutalbag225 Ugh maybe it found the tiniest opening down the pipework or something. I like these fish but they’re an Atlantic species so hard to come by in Asia. Think I’ll stick to a pair of Yellow Watchman Gobies and a Tiger Pistol instead as they’ll require only a 2” sand bed.
@@AbsoluteZero6714 yeah man I'd say the have similar behavior i have a Watchman goby right now and they do about the same thing of course the Pearly jawfish are prettier to look at but are definitely great escape artists
@@AbsoluteZero6714 I made it out of that plastic mesh stuff you buy at Hobby Lobby and other places and just took zip ties and need a frame around the Overflow Weir the holes are like maybe an 1/8 inch there's a little bit of slack on the sides but even at that it seems too tight or too get out honestly what I think after all this time is on my glass lids in the corners I have these plastic hinges that you can cut to customize fitting chords in it which I used for a wave maker on one side and the return on the other that's the only thing that I believe would be a reason how it escaped
Do they sandsift a lot like the diamond goby?
To an extent. They will not run around the tank and do it like a diamond would, but they will dig nice caves around the rocks sturring it up.
Curious why 1.023 instead of 1.026 where most of us reefers keep our tanks? Is it bad to keep it higher than 1.023 for some reason?
Alex McCann At our shop we keep everything 23-24 and everything flourishes. In my experience the fish, crustaceans, and corals do not handle well in waters that the salinity is higher than 25. But then again, I see reef tanks looking perfect online that are running salinity at 26-27.
Alex McCann it’s best at 1.25 and a half because that the ocean salt level. Pet shop keep it less to help it heal etc so they use less of their levers to filter out salt to help them recover faster
Do you think i could have one with a 50 by 40 cm tank with a yasha and shrimp pair??
You might could make it work! A tank that small will require you to watch the levels very closely so you don’t end up spiking the tank :)
@@BrockLeonard thank you for a quick reply! Would you also think a pair of clowns would work?
Hey Brock how well do they get along with shrimp gobies?
To be specific the Yellow Watchman.
And how long do they live for?
They do well with gobies IF they each their own cave to burrow in. They can get territorial over the caves they stay at.
Brock Leonard Ahh I see thanks for the info! By the way on a side note have you tried pairing Yellow Watchman Gobies or any other shrimp gobies before? Are they hermaphrodites like Clownfish where you put two in and they will pair easily?
Should I get goby and shrimp or jawfish?
Jawfish are much more fun in my opinion
Are they compatible with shrimps?
Yingjun Zhao yes! :)
