You have caused me to pick up a few Pearson’s. I have a Pinto and a very nice Javelina, which is an extremely smooth shooting bow, enjoy shooting them, so I wanted to say thanks. You also are responsible for me getting some Minuteman’s, which have become some of my favorites, and a nice 76er.
@3darchery that's a fun idea, and very funny... I think is very difficult to shot in this way, but you are incredible Gregory 🏹👍 thank for all your videos, I always enjoy myself 😊😊
What a coincidence! I was just out shooting my low poundage 1967 Pinto today too. I usually shoot 45-50 lbs at targets 25-60 yards. The Pinto I was shooting today is 35# and I was shooting 500 grain, 50# spine wood arrows. It was tough! Really had to lob them in there. Thanks for the cool video Greg, your right about lighter bows really showing my form issues. Thanks!
I've got a 35lb pinto, I bought at a yard sale, about 45 years ago for 2.50, and for 20 years it sat in my closet, until one day a friend came by and asked ifi wanted to go to a archery shop with him , anyway I didn't even know about a three finger release, , but I rented a 30lb recurve and thay got me squared away, , and I found how much I enjoyed it, , well next day I had a string on the pinto, and bought a dozen 3.00 Walmart arrows, and never looked back, if I haven't shot in a while, my pinto is the first bow I pull out, it's light enough I can concentrate on my form and just enjoy the shoot, by the way I just picked up a cougar at a yard sale for 20.00 and am refinishing it right now, , it's a bit heavier then I like at 52lb, but I'm not going to walk away from a affordable vintage ben pearson,
I learned more about teaching archery by accepting challenges from my JOAD kids shooting Genesis bows at 20 yards than anything. Form and consistency rule the day.
I prefer 25 pound bows (mine is 26 at 25 inch) since I’m mainly a small game hunter, and in my state there’s no minimum, so for my shoulders it’s better than shooting my 40 (which I can’t hold for nearly as long)
Your a welcome sight (site) to see. Thanks for the enjoyment and can't wait for more hope you continue. As always hope all is well with you and yours thank you.
Great Video Greg! I think hunters challenge sounds more entertaining, but that's my opinion. I think you could allow certain ILFs, ones that are wood risers that must shoot off the shelf (ie. Fleetwood Hunter ILF, TradTech Trident, etc.). I know a few people that like those ILF systems because they still feel trad, but you can tune your limbs.
Thanks Greg, I truly enjoy your vids. Maybe if your in the KC area sometime we can head to the 3D woods and make a vid. Three Trails Archery Club is my Club. You'd love it.
Greg on another video did you mention you had a 30” draw length ?? If so wouldn’t that put your output closer to 30 lbs ??? Also although you were using Dacron if you were using fast flight or another HP material that would again raise the output another 3-5 pounds correct ?? The EASTON spine charts made that adjustment for FF strings years ago. Love all your videos and Grizzly Jim just mentioned you in his latest video for what a perfect host and gentleman you were to him at his ETAR adventure with you. !!! Bravo Greg !!!!
I did the 25 pound challange with my son, whe used the same (longbow) bow, but my distances to the 3D targets were farther. I won, but not at so many points that it was still not fun for him. Good times.
Awesome video and nice shoting mate Im thinking of getting the black sheep nova recurve bow that is supposed to be samme as samick sage in 35 pound will it be a good beginner bow that shoots true and straight?
In my area more and more "trad" archers are shooting metal, ILF bows. It seems many wooden bows are getting priced out with plenty of them costing up towards the thousand dollar range or beyond. Also ILF bows permit going up or down in poundage with new, reasonably priced limbs. The idea of what is "trad" seems to be a bit muddled as well. Plenty of custom trad bows seem to be made with rainforest hardwoods, modern luminants, and many have takedown systems similar to ILF bows. Should we also mention carbon arrows with decals to make them look like wood? How about plastic arrow nocks to permit 3 under and string walking?
Heaviest Bow I shoot is fifty pounds. Just bought one that is 57 and we will see how that goes. Not a fan of heavy bows, too much chance for shoulder damage.
Deep hook shooters always seem to have a problem with light poundage bows in the 20 - 25 pound range especially if their release is pretty rough . When they shallow out their hook ,work on a smoother release and really nail in their gaps they can compete with anyone !!! Hey you are just punching paper or foam !!! I was just looking at an Archery magazine from the early 1960’s covering the top male shooters of the day and their average pound draw weight with stick bows was 31 pounds !!
For people that cant handle heavy bows, get an ILF riser and lite carbon limbs. ILF are very fast for their draw weight. the limbs are bullet proof, so show stupid light arrows, you will do great.
@@3DArchery ya i have a wood ilf riser, I mean I get keeping it as real as possible, you can get a $100 wood ilf riser and some $90 bamboo core limps, cheap setup really.
You are a very good shot ,for a 25 pound bow,I am going to learn how to shot with a 25pounder ,I like 40 pound bows you make it look easy, but I no it not ,Marry Christmas, to you .
You are definitely having fun👌👍. God bless you. Stay safe. Thanks

50 pound arrow on a 35 pound bow, yep bet that did have quite the trajectory! Fun to watch.

Nice vid Greg, thanks for sharing! Everybody needs some 'me time'.
That's one beautiful bow you have there...

Good video
Great job sir. That looked like a blast every one should try this. It will definitely put your skills to the test.
God bless my friend. 👍🏼🏹🇺🇸

Speed challenge sound fun I may try that in backyard

If I can ever get time off from work, I would love to!
I added the club to my website. If you have any information that you would like to see on the listing, let me know.
I hear ya. Work, work, work...
I've noticed the release thing too with low poundage bows, they're not very forgiving as the string doesn't rip itself free from a poor release.

New low pondage video!
BTW. why you alone?

Like I've said before, my equipment will shoot as well as the operator directs.
MUITO BOM 🙌
Do you also have a "High poundage" challenge? Whats the heavist bow you shot. Not that it really matters, just curious
Heaviest Bow I shoot is fifty pounds. Just bought one that is 57 and we will see how that goes. Not a fan of heavy bows, too much chance for shoulder damage.
Greg are you using Dacron or fast flight on that bow ??
I only use Dacron. The performance difference is not that much with these bows.

Shallow hooks cause their own problems too. I shoot 3D, Field, Indoor, Stump and several others.
For people that cant handle heavy bows, get an ILF riser and lite carbon limbs. ILF are very fast for their draw weight. the limbs are bullet proof, so show stupid light arrows, you will do great.
Only problem is some trad archers only want wooden risers.

I'm 64 years old, 70% disabled veteran, why would you think that I would want to roll around on the ground shooting arrows.
I’m a 60 year old former paratrooper, 164 jumps. Why not?
Hi Greg. Wonder if your 25 pound bow can shoot 55 yards? Mine also shooting 25 pound bow with 900 spine arrow. But never ever try long distance 😓
Yes it can. Shot it out to 100. Very high trajectory. But it will easily get out there.

in Poland 0℃= 32.00000℉ :(
Whatever that job is, the hrs sux. Bad job path
Archer's paradox is unreal, fantasy, crap, bullshit.
Oh it is real, just not what people think it is.
