I shot traditional archery for years, roving through the mountains of Colorado. But then travelled too much for work and fell out of it. Watching Jim and Jeff Kavanaugh inspired me to get at it again. They are also helping me break some bad habits born from shooting heavy bows....I bought a lighter longbow, set up my new target, and have been shooting for 3 days now on my property....such a wonderful sport.
The flight of an arrow is just a thing of beauty. You are right, there is no such thing as a bad day of archery. Be blessed my friend.
Excellent thoughts, great music, and fun to watch. On days when I am frustrated because my shooting is not so great, I think to myself; the day will come when I can't walk the woods, pull a bow, and marvel over the beauty of what I am doing but today is not that day. I then count my self blessed by God, and look for my next target.
Congratulations on qualifying Jim! Enjoyed the video, thanks for taking us along!
Very nice upload Jim, great days shooting, relaxing sound track and a couple of buds having fun....
These videos always make me want to go shooting in the woods, nice video as always
hi jim i am one of those people who cannot enjoy 3d archery like you because i live my life out of a wheelchair so watching you and others is the only way i can do it so thanks
Where there is a will there is away buddy!
Where are you based Mick?
@@ArcheryAdventures hi jim im in port lincoln south australia
Jim, you have such an elegant shooting form, i love watching your follow through and i hope someday i could master that. And that bow is gorgeous.
Great video, my 9yr old son and I have recently joined a field archery club in kent and we absolutely love it, we go a couple of times a week and have got the bug big time! It is so relaxing being out in the woods forgetting all your problems for a couple of hours and just having fun, wish I had started years ago
Holy moly. I wish to be such a great shot one day. Fantastic shooting
Jim, thanks again for the video. Been a subscriber for a while now, and your videos have done a couple of important things, the least important is improving my shooting, the most important is your contagious love of shooting!!! Congrats on the qualifying :)
Awesome shooting and great video, Jim! It's so much fun to see you hit some kills :D If you're ever in Austria, hit me up, I'd love to go shooting with you guys and show you some of the amazing 3D courses we have here!
I love these kind of videos with the 3D target shooting, also when you put the camera on the target that's pretty awesome. Thank you
Love Grizzly Jim's attitude to archery.
Watching this is meditation
Another great vid guys enjoyed watching you shoot can't wait to get to the woods myself now 🏹
So fantastic to see you again mate! Keep shooting and I cant wait to see the World 3D!
Lovely video thanks really enjoy your stuff even though it's now 3 years later this never ages.
Another great video ... thanks Jim & Bradley
Just dawned on me you two are Harry and Dudley grown up and have finally made amends and are finally enjoying each other!! Lol even though this is older
Lovely vid, guys! Thanks for sharing it and good luck! You deserved that opportunity. Cheers!
You're back! Its been a minute but I'm stoked to see you back in the youtube game. Congratulations on your qualifier, you're doing great things dude.
grizzly Jim. I watch all of your archery Adventures & Merlin archery UA-cam vid's . I just watched the one on waxing your bow string and that little trick with that piece of serving to get rid of excess wax. my bow string now looks like a steel cable perfectly round thank you so much. see you on Internet and shoot straight. you're a godsend for newbies like me
congratulations on qualifying for the w3d! Im learning a lot from you ! Great videos! Stay healthy and shoot straight buddy! :o)
You guys are fun to watch. Enjoyed.
love watching your videos with a hot cup of coffe then always need to shoot right after.
guyinknapp perfect 👌
nice to see ya back jim
Lovely video! Can't wait for the equipment I ordered to arrive (and the weather to not be sheit) so I can get started again after a few years now with no shooting.
Solid rendition on the City And Color tune Bradley.. chills it out and has a fitting feel with Sir Grizzly's style.
Jeromy Witmore totally didn't realise that, it is a little similar...oops...
this is so chill and wholesome i wish i could do this someday soon
nice to see you back! love your videos. wish you all the best for the world 3d tournament!
I appreciate you Jim, I hunt, I shoot instinctive. I have my struggles. I would have nothing else. You are an encouragement to us.
Terry Mattson thank you Terry
Really love your videos, Jim. Congrats on your qualification, and good luck.
Nice vid, Jim. Hope someday I could go out and have fun with my friend like you did. Cheer!!
That looked like a great day. I need to find myself a 3d archery range. I enjoyed the video.
saintsfisherman thank you!
Nice to have you back, sir.
Ah, Grizzly Jim ist wieder da!!
Way to Go Jim, congrats on qual.
I hope to see you in September on WC 3D. :)
Awesome way to go
Pleasure watching this!
A good day shooting indeed, thanks for sharing.
My friend and I go to black cat 3d archery near Swindon. the course is awesome and it changes every time we go there. some shots are at ducks at 45 feet and the gap is only 6" thought about six trees. awesome.
Only been doing archery a short while but have learnt so much from your videos. I am more interested in the instinctive and hoping to get a flat bow in January. I know of one place I can go and pay to shoot 3D but that is all. It would be great if on some of your videos you could say where you are and if it is private or you can book and pay to shoot there. Will definitely be ordering a Grizzly string when I get a AFB
Hey Jim congrates on the result. How about a video on how to score, range etiquette ect.. for the uninitiated to the world of 3D shooting. Really want to have a go at it but would have to go on my own and thats what is putting me off not knowing the rules and stuff.
Great video man always enjoy watching
Grizzly is back. ❤️
always enjoy your videos and the string I purchased is a
Seams like the perfect day 😁
why cant someone invent an app to find lost arrows
Well it can be done, only your arrows are going to be a bit expensive...
I came across some nocks with built-in bluetooth and an app to trace them so it does exist although I can't say how accurate it is as I have never tried them :)
What about a metalic detector? When we clean up our parcour before the winter we use one. So we can clean up the woods from lost arrows. Last cleanup we found !50 arrows of our guests. I have a friend his job is to find dangerous things in the ground. I lent us ohne of his detectors. Nothing for privatees. Costs aprox 5000€ (5000$).
They do tracker nocks, and you locate them on your smart phone
great video would love to see a proper review of both bows or even just bradleys bear kodiak!! it's possibly my dream bow
some fine shooting
Hi jim. Greatest videos ever. Are you now making tradional bowstrings. If so please let me know. I run clubs who only shoot with flemish handmade strings. Also do you produce your own fletchings. Shoot straight and true my friend. ☺️
This is your best video by far. Also, got to love the Ted Nugents'.
Nice vid. Really enjoyed it.
Congratulations on 'Wales'. Was also glad to hear that you did so well, as I was beginning to get depressed about those shots you two were making, thinking how bad I must be. lol
Thank you both for the detail about the bows and, I see that your DL has increased by an inch ;-)
Good to see you back as it were.
We need more 3d courses - that one looks very nice - where is it please? Nice video with intelligent and passionate commentary, by the way. Did you get to the world titles?
Hey Jim you should do another review on the samick sage and chronograph the arrow speed at different arrow weights
Loving this ! 3D is the best ! :D
3D archery looks like a fun way to combine archery with the great outdoors - anyone know what venue this is, or indeed how to get into 3D archery - a google search yields surprisingly little useful info?
Mike Jones are you UK based?
Arrows and Axes Hi, I am indeed, South East London, thanks.
Mike Jones www.nfas.net on there is a list of field/3D clubs, I'm sure there will be one fairly local to you on there.
Much appreciated, I shall have a look through :) thanks
What kind of arm guards are you both wearing? They look really nice.
Hey Jim, got a question. Should I drop the £ and get another set of formula Hoyt limbs for my Buffalo, or sell it and get the Satori?
Jim - How is the shelf cut on that bodnik signature? In video it looks to be about 1/8th inch cut before center? You said you were shooting high to the left. A little more cant might help. Split finger and/or three under looks like that bow would easily produce a 20 inch gap at 20 yards. Thanks and great video.
Excellent. Post a website!!
Jim what bow are you shooting I would love it if you could send me some info on your bow
Hi Jim,
Having done Archery here and there approx 15+ years ago, I have just started getting into Archery as a full time hobby and doing target archery with a Recurve at my local club. I'm really interested in traditional and instinctive archery, and 3D style courses. Very handily there is one close by that is NFAS approved.
At what stage would you say it was acceptable to be able to shoot a 3D course? Can someone who's literally just come out of their club joining course take part or attend a 3D course?
Also I currently have a Cartel Fantom recurve bow, is this allowed on a NFAS / 3D Course? Not sure how regulated it is etc.
Thanks,
Chris.
You could put the names of the bows in the description of every video.
Great video. Glad to see another Grizzly Jim shoot. Where can I get a Grizzly string and how much are they?
Aaron Hansen drop me a message at info@grizzlyjim.co.uk or over on the Grizzly Strings facebook page ;)
Good job
Grizzly Jim - How is the shelf cut on your signature? Before, to or past center?
JeffBullseye it's before, shelf isn't very big on this bow. :)
Why can't you use a bow with beautiful wood work in the World 3D? (I'm new to archery)
Great vid glad to see it
Hi old chap. already missed your videos...
Jim , how does Bradley like his Bear Kodiak TD ? I believe he stated it was 56". That would be A riser/ #1 limbs ? What draw weight and his draw length ? I'm thinking of getting one, at 29" draw. Any stacking ? Thanks, John.
namvet6971 that’s right! he’s about 29/30” and he’s around the high 50’s lbs
But Jeff Kavanagh’s the man to speak to buddy
@@ArcheryAdventures How do I contact Jeff ? To ask about Kodiak T/D. Thanks Jim.
why no one uses aluminum risers in instinctive archery competitions if they are better than wooden ones is it prohibited or what?
Cool, funny. Thank you. Oy, you almost leave the camera in a forest)))))
Another great video :)
What kind of quiver is he using?
Jim what bow are you shooting , great video 👍👍
Opps typed it before you told us 🤷♂️
frankie1956 that’s my Bodnik Signature Stick! :)
does anyone know of a 3D Course in the north west???
What poundage is your Bear Takedown??
David L it’s or it was 48# @ 28”
Thanks for the video!
Im’e just happy if I hit the target ha ha ...but I still love archery ! 🏹🏹🏹
good one thanks
Nice video fellas. Do you have wood ticks over there? They're bad here on the east coast of the USA. Spread Lyme disease.
daddydojang indeed we do...
Yeah... Horrible in the SC Summer.
daddydojang there are a few, but it's not a huge issue over here (thank goodness)
i cannot get used to a quiver like that . it puts me right off . shame .
8:33 I know the feeling ;)
Hey Jim, is this a public 3D course or did you place the targets yourself? cheers, Dan
Dig For History it's a club, but they do have open sessions, where you can just turn up and shoot :)
Hey Jim! Just wondering if the grip on the signature stick is rubber or leather? Btw that was some great shooting!
[FA4L] FoxinAround4Lyfe it’s leather (sorry for the late response)
Hi Jim, where abouts is this course please?
If I remember, rightly, that is harlequin bowhunters in Ashby?
i wish i could be that good instinctive lol i have to use gap
Nice video
what spine do you shoot?
Nice
Why the limp Jim?
Chris Wilcox he had a thorn in his foot lol
Chris Wilcox yep! It was a big one too lol
do you use wood arrows? also how do you aim?
Húginn aim!? You can aim these things!?
Arrows and Axes haha! i meant like the grip he uses and such
Húginn check his older videos, he's gone over it all before buddy ✌🏻
Arrows and Axes oh, well thanks for the info dude
nice
Hi jim. Is this the same person that did the vids for merlin archery?
Wayne Mctaggart yeah!!!
Please can you make me some strings.... please.....
if I buy a one piece flat bow and wanted to increase poundage I would have to buy a new bow so a recurve I only have to change limbs
David Colley that’s about right
