- In this video I will show you the V7 Video doorbell from KAMEP, it support 1080p and comes with free cloud storage. I was surprised when I learnt that it does not have option for SD card recording and only option is their cloud storage, it was easy to set up and once you registered your free account linking the door bell is straight forward. At £47.50 it is fantastic value for money. Much cheaper than Ring and Blink or Arlo branded bells.

The 166 degree wide field of view really suit as video door bell as it covers a large area, I can clearly see delivery man walking up the door and everything is in view including the parcel he was holding right up to door step.
The night vision is impressive and the recorded footage is really clear on mobile viewing. When door bell is pushed the remote chime and door bell itself will ring and there are plenty of ring tone to choose from. At the same time you phone will show alert and notify you someone is at the door or when motion is detected etc when ever you are as long as you have good internet connection.
It runs on rechargeable batteries which is included, all you need to do is take the door bell off the door and plug in a USB cable to the back and let it recharge. Battery mileage varies, depends on how often your doorbell is activated etc.

I was a bit reluctant to buy one, and you just made my mind up to go to Amazon to buy one.
I have a question though, does the app on the phone (in my case a Samsung Android tablet) have to be running constantly in the background, or does it launch from closed when the bell is pressed.
If it launches from closed, how long does the App take to launch?

I am not sure as my house is all iPhone or iPad. From notifications to app open takes 2-3 seconds which just enough time to scream at delivery guy not to leave my parcel at the door 😁
@@BCreviews I got mine, and got it all fitted.
Its a little different to the one in the clip, but its the same make, and the same setup.
I like that the app launches itself when the button is pressed, so you don't have to have it running all the time (obviously there must be a monitor program running).
It is a little bit slow, between pressing the button and the ringer going off, but that may be a software problem because its already gone bad once.
The only other problem I have with it, is that I can only get it to work on one device at a time, at the moment it is running on my Samsung A6 tablet (Which is a bit slow at the best of times), but I was hoping to get it working on at least three devices, so I don't have to carry one device with me all the time.
I will persevere with it, but I am happy so far, the build quality is very good, and the camera is better than my old CCTV setup.
Do you stopping getting notification if log in from the other devices?

Can you increase the range of the chime, my doorbell chime only works if its within 1.5 metres. Every other function is great.

Hi, I have an iPhone 12 plus but unless I have the actual app open it doesn’t ring on my phone. Can you help please.
When it offers free cloud storage, who is it stored with? Does it mean that the cloud server has access to our videos? Kinda scary when I think about it...
Unfortunately this is a security risk for any cloud storage, of course big brands like apple google Amazon would have high security for our contents but unless we investigate we will not know where and how they store our data. I only use cloud storage for non sensitive area like my driveway and external space where anyone could have capture with a CCTV van. All my internal cameras are off my own NAS or internal SD card.

Used to be free but it changed in the past year to paid. I only use the SD card for storage.

@hjboss09 sorry, I cheap out so I don’t use cloud. In fact I don’t like my CCTV data on the cloud, especially any free ones as there is nothing such as free… I can’t image someone having free access to my driveway, garden and some indoor camera 24/7
The chime isn't playing the ring I selected! Also, this unit going on my RV, is there another way to turn off the unit in the app or somewhere without having to unscrew it and remove the batteries?

Most of these door bell are splash proof but not waterproof, also when rain drop in front of lens it will block video. If you door is in direct rain you may need a screen or hood above the bell which does not look good.
How do you connect it to more than one mobile device?

I have the same door bell, but I can't pairing the chime white the door bell, can you please, explain how can I get it?
Usually you activate pairing mode by holding down a button on the chime and then within a few second press the door bell button. If not happening then you may have a faulty unit. I always have the chime close to the door camera unit, once paired you can move the chime further into the house
I have the same issue. The chime simply won’t pair. I’ve tried resetting it many times now.

It depends on how much activation it gets, 2 weeks about right for a house with kids I would think if you have it on motion activation. If only active when pressed you will get a lot more life out of it.

I can’t use it on 2 accounts on two phones tried with 2 different login signup and the same the device gets Erased when you add it it to a new phone. How did you get it to work what am I doing wrong
Is there a way to reduce the motion sensor more than the lower setting? I keep getting motion detection from larger vehicles passing by that are 40-60 feet away doorbell.
I don’t think you can, I would turn off motion and just rely on person pressing door bell button and install separate cctv for continuous recording. Angle the cctv to avoid heavy traffic or get expensive AI human detection motion activated camera
When I turn off the motion sensor I don’t get any notifications when someone is at the door?

That will need a video to cover, you need to use “Alexa skill”. Check out some UA-cam video on that

Need more info, I’d the app working on your phone for viewing the camera? If app is working then you need to check if your app has permission to run in background and also access to your notifications. Best to install app on another device just to check everything is ok
Sorry guys, probably a dumb enquiry but if I hear a noise outside, can I simply activate the camera myself via the app and see outside without the need for someone to activate the motion sensor? Thanks.

I have been spending hours trying to connect my device to the wifi. I can not find a number to contact the company
I have reviewed quite a few of these video door bell and other CCTV and I don’t usually have any problem connecting WiFi except the time when my router have mixed 2.4/5Ghz. Easiest way to try out is to have another phone and create a hot spot and try and connect the door bell to that WiFi, if it does not connect then tune to return as faulty

You can connect the back plate to a power supply and when clip in it runs off mains instead of battery. I have it wired up to an old mains door bell wire etc.
I don’t think it is water proof, water resistant may be but I will not have it in direct rain

May be the app got shut down in the background? Some phone save power by turning off services and process of app not in the foreground

Yes, it has 2 way audio but like most on the market it has a delay, unlike a FaceTime video call but more of instruction and exchange sentences in turn. The better the internet connection at both ends the less the delay
Benson Chik what is the battery life ?
That really depends on the amount of activations, I would say anything between 3 weeks to 4 months. My house have post and delivery throughout the day plus kids in and out of school x4, 3 weeks and battery is drained due to recording and activation. I have an old style transformer door bell which supply power to my unit (similar but not this unit) and never worry about battery dead
Where is the sd card located it directions say its built in
There is no sd card slot with this model, without WiFi it will be useless as all footage stored in the free cloud storage etc.
People in the UK please be aware that having a smart door bell is Legal, there comes a problem on what you record... like filming people without their consent or knowledge. They can actually make a formal complaint, in my case i wanted evidence of a spitful bullying neighbor, with 2 days of the bell being installed she put paper over the bell!!
I feel sorry for you as having a nightmare neighbour is literally nightmare which does not end.
My neighbour is passive aggressive and at the same time understand the importance of CCTV as a deterrent, they see it as a benefit to the area and not a threat. They often make jokes as my home is like a bank.
I hope you or your bullying neighbor move out soon as there is usually no happy endings
@@BCreviews TY for your reply. The neighbour i have is now saying that i shouldnt have a door bell that expensive when people in the Ukraine need help!! It pisses me off because we made a donation that was actually more than the cost of the doorbell!! But it makes no odds because if we explained that fact she would then say we are showing off because we made a large donation. We cannot breathe without a snide comment. A month ago she had a tyre blow out, and she tried to say someone put a nail in her tyre and even told people it was us!! I asked her for the so called footage she said she was getting from our housing landlord, but to this day we had no response. We helped keep this womans head above water when she had no money or food to feed her child and even loaned her 500£ to help get her out of debt, then out the blue she turned on us. She is making our life a misery. We donttknow where to turn next?
I seriously don’t think there is anything to do but move away, do it if you have the option. Life is too short to be dealing with trouble neighbour, you will get depress and Paranoid

The door bell itself will make sound but it will be outdoor. The chime will be inside the house to alert you and with or without WiFi. Your phone and other device with the app will be optional, you can set up as alert and phone , chime, door bell all ringing at the same time when someone presses your bell

In theory you will buy 2 door bell with the same brand. Install both on location and in the app add each to the list and you should have 2 door bell working. I will have to test it out but they are just like CCTV and you just add them to your list

The battery life isn't good
My one has stopped recording and it says I have to pay £28.99 a year. I thought you didn’t pay for a subscription for this bell.
When I bought this doorbell it comes with lifetime free recording . The more recent models requires one time purchase. Other viewers have suggested that later models now have sd card slot which mine does not. Which version do you have? The link to this product no longer there which I may have to research and update it
@@BCreviews I have the old version there is no SD slot on mine i must of had it for 2 or 3 years now. It was only since that last update that it stopped working.
Could be they are phasing out free storage with latest models, need to contact them directly about it. I can still find lifetime free cloud version listed in Amazon so they should be able to sort it.

I have tried all methods to join the camera to my phone. Which wifi network do I enter, the kamep or my normal network. What password do I use. I have tried all i know but the camera will not copy the qr to the phone, it only starts a count down., no voice telling me they are paired, On the qr page I have pressed save but still will not say or do anything.
5:40 is when I connect the door bell to my WiFi. What you need to understand is that your phone need to be on the WiFi which the doorbell is going to be connected to. Then your doorbell app will share the WiFi details inc password with the door bell. It will only work if your WiFi is 2.4ghz which 90% of WiFi router on the market is using . The WiFi detail you enter on the phone app will be the WiFi name and password of the WiFi your door bell going to be joining
Can you connect it to more than one phone?
you can have the same app on different phone and all can view the live feed at the same time if needed, but usually only one device can do 2 way audio with the camera at anyone time.
Do we all have to be logged into the same account or can I create a separate one and add device to it? I’ve just tried doing this and it deleted the device from one phone but successfully added it onto the second one

I gave this away to a friend so don’t have that anymore but when I was using it I did not have to pay and DON’T even have to give my credit card details to sign up neither. Unfortunately he was a bit heavy handed and broke the plastic lug which hold it onto the back plate ....

Is anyone else not able to playback the videos in the app and the screen goes black when you tap play? I don't want to have to download a video everytime I want to watch it. For some reason my partner doesn't have this issue, despite the fact we both have Samsung S8.

For me 2 weeks max as I have delivery at least 3-4 times a day plus kids in and out for school. I have a old door bell wiring so I power the camera with that instead.
People can hear me.but I cant hear them
Not had that problem before , make sure your phone is not on silent and may be try another phone then return it as faulty if still not working

Of course you can, that’s the whole point of having a wireless video door bell 👍 . I have tested around 5-6 brands now and they all similar in tech. Door bell connect to your home WiFi 2.4ghz and then you phone app can access the door bell via any internet connection anywhere.

@@BCreviews Hey Benson, noticed that this v7 doorbell is almost exactly the same as the Eken v7 that im considering to purchase, with the same App Aiwit support. May i know roughly hows the response time from the time doorbell (wifi 2.4ghz full bar network) is pressed to the push notification notification on phone (4g 5g cell network)? And the lag/latency between live feed and intercom? Have read some reviews mentioning requiring 40-50sec before phone rings
It all depends on your internet connections. I guess average of 2-5 seconds max between pressing the bell and the phone notifications on my screen when I am at work. I have arlo cctv camera which pick up motion in my front door and notifications is around the same time as the door bell.
