The way Ricky's character held those CDs drove me insane. Which is perfectly in line with how the character is written. Genius.
The best 'comedy' series EVER. Which raises and answers so many questions. When someone in our life dies, there is no hierarchy - Tony thought he had taken the grieving hierarchy away from Matt. When you love someone no matter the relationship: Mother, Father, Sibling, Partner the loss still feels as intense for you.
BEST. SHOW. EVER!! I have never laughed and cried so much! Even my husband loved it! I swear this show has made our marriage stronger. Thank you for creating such an amazing show that is so true to life! ❤️😘❤️

I feel all couples go through spells of getting caught up in the day to day life, and then a show like this comes along and helps you to remember what’s most important in life. So when my husband reaches over and grabs my hand during a show, then yes. If you haven’t found a love like theirs, then I hope you find it someday if your willing to open your heart up to it.
Totally agree with you my wife and I loved it sat and cried and laughed together the whole three series of it.

Ricky is so on point. Words are just sounds that we load up with our own perceptual projections. His ruthless humor takes them apart and pokes at us to wake up and get real about the absurdity of our illusory, human-made world.

I’m not being funny but I seriously doubt he was thinking that deep for the scene. Tony was giving that bloke a taste of his own medicine because “they’re just sounds”. That’s it. However, it’s a good analysis but not in the context of the scene.

If anything, its actually the other way around from what you were suggesting- it’s actually a lot of the younger people in this generation that don’t like him because a lot of them are snowflakes nowadays and therefore miss the cleverness of his humour because they get their feelings too much in the way. Was Tony Way's father an actor? He looks very similar to someone who used to pop up on TV shows quite often in the '80s but I can't recall his name. He had a very distinctive (to put it kindly) face.
The actor that plays his father is David Bradley. More recently he was Filch in the Harry Potter series and he was in Game of Thrones 😊

He kind of reminds me of the actor Paul Brooke who is probably best known as the Rancor Guard in Return Of The Jedi. They both have a very distinctive look, and do a lot of character work.

Bringing up the particular actor reminds about fact there were at least three actors in After life cast who had a role in Game of thrones. Needless to say that all characters died during show so in a sense they really had new after life in After life. 🤔
