@@HorridBee248at that point it isn’t worth the risk. Even with someone untrained, a good swing of a Katana like that can seriously maim or kill someone. There’s something called the 21 foot rule, I won’t explain it here but look it up, it’s a good rule of thumb for melee engagements for officers. These guys looked to be less than or right at 21 feet distance, so in the lethal range of a melee attacker. Also, no cop should be on duty without a lethal option readily available. Perhaps they could have officer duo’s equipped with at least one non-lethal weapon, but at the same time, tasers are known to fail and it’s up to the officers if they’re willing to jeopardize the safety of their own life for that of another’s. I’d say the officers did everything they could to calm the situation, and when that failed, they acted accordingly to protect themselves and possibly many others.

You’re supposed to level them both to be at least 25/25 to have the meta build skills unlocked like Perfect Riposte or Swift Step by the time you get to the Blue Sentinels boss in the Abyssal Sun Motel dungeon. Their projectile will one shot every time it’s kind of a gimmicky boss. It’s basically impossible when you can’t parry the bullets into a counter or at least dodge them. If you really need to cheese the Blue Sentinels boss you can just use Throw Voice on a nearby black npc and it will almost always draw aggro off you. I can’t tell if it’s a glitch or part of the bosses mechanics but it’s still possible on patch 2.0.24

For the first 'thing', i remember cops coming at me after coming home from a weekly LARP (scabbard+handle looked decent in low light). They pulled up on me, i dropped shit cause im not that stupid, 5 mins later the cop car was on the side of the road with highbeams on to illuminate 2 of the cops fighting against eachother with my larp swords at 1AM on a random road(and the winner against me).
Respect and a sense of humour goes along way.
Hahahah my friend got really cool expensive "Lightsabers" they looked awesome and made all the sounds especially when they hit each other. We were trying them out at night in kind of a field near a road just messing around. Cops drove past and stopped to check it out...they had a chat with us and they tried them out for themselves haha it was a fun little moment they enjoyed it and went on their way.
I'm a buhurt fighter , I'm out in public all the time in armor with real swords (ours are dull) we get alot of looks but ive never had any run ins with the law , we always joke about how awkward it's gonna be when the cops like hey... what's with all the sex stuff in ur trunk lol but yes it's attitude, it's perfectly legal to have and carry a sword , ive been stopped on the way to range day with 35 weapons , took a while but the cops where cool about it because I wasn't being rude

Sorry Donut, I have to share a story from about ten years ago. I am a firefighter and we caught a call to an elderly woman stabbed with a samurai sword. It was initially given as person down in the front yard, nothing about any wounds, etc. Sadly, she was no longer breathing and had no pulse. We were not able to revive her. The next shift, overtime on the ambulance for me, we caught a call for a headache at the same residence. I was in front of one of the deputies as the door opens to the grandson of the elderly woman, come to find out he had stabbed her with the sword the day before, and he has the same sword in his hand. As he raises it preparing to turn me into a bald headed shishkebab, I stepped to the side of the porch on the split foyer house. The deputy already had his taser out and popped him with it. @devlenruby6681 so, you want to deploy non-lethal? How do you do that? You can't taze him while he is just standing there with a sheathed sword. He is not complying with orders, but is not threatening the officers. If they tazed him or used other force at that time, everyone would be screaming at them for escalation, as well as the city would be sued for injuries (falling on concrete is not good for your head).
When he became a threat by pulling out the sword, there was no time for a tazer. He was too close to the officers and tazers are notorious for failing. If they used the tazer and it failed, it would be too late to use a gun, and the officer could be dead or injured.
They tried to de-ecalate and get the guy to stay calm and drop the weapon. Not much else they could do without endangering themselves.
Feel like dude was on something or on some kind of spectrum to go from what are you doing to charging the officers with a katana with nithing in between. There is a significant disconnect there.
For what it's worth, the officer in the first video did everything he possibly could to de-escalate, and dispatched the suspect properly when he aggravates.
A clear example reinforcing my belief the police should have knights in full plate armor. Give these guys a real boss fight.

Ehhhh I mean Los Angeles you’re probably going to get pepper sprayed and hit with the 40mm. Dude was the slowest moving person I’ve seen in a long time too. Every department deals with things different and you never know how many officers were on duty at the time. Those bean bag rounds and the 40mm are there for a reason though they save lives in the long run especially people going through mental health issues.

@@Horseprotime I'm 33, and I have enough understanding to know that life is greater than death in every instance. Right in the head or not, he could've turned his life around. Can't do that dead. Ignorance and stupidity is what led to his downfall. He surely wasn't mentally ill, just misled and deluded into thinking this was his best option. I just voiced that out because, no matter the circumstances, seeing such a young person throw their life away over something stupid sucks.
