I love this channel so much. I know nothing about bricklaying but there’s just something so satisfying about watching this guy talk, make silly faces while scarfing down sandwiches & coffee, give his classic thumbs up when the levels check out lol I just like his character & demeanor so much. And the accent is pretty darn adorable as well!! ☺️ anywho, great job! I’m sure everyone here, there & everywhere can truly appreciate anyone who does such dedicated, clean & tidy work on [one] of the most major purchase of their life. I know I would be glad to have someone like that around if I needed work done lol. Goodnight y’all!
Hi stu im a chippy by trade but started watching ur videos and u inspired me to have ago at bricklaying! Love ur attitude towards doing stuff not just ur brickwork. Keep up the great work and the videos!! Bye the way just finished building a blockwork extention on the side of my house today, thanks for the inspiration.
I've been on with an extension in the 30°heat and the 4hour monsoons we've been having this year followed by hot as hell I like how honest you are man not ever block/brick is layed in the same weather its rough most days
Hi stu, been there done that was a flat roofer for twenty odd years and the weather killed us a hell of a lot but you got it done and that's what matters to make a butty welldone
Nothing more demoralising than working in the bad weather, however Stu as usual you came through, keep up the good work, I've seen lots of your videos, thanks for sharing. Liked and subscribed. Ray H.
u always doing a one work.. its great to see.. i started in 2005 i like the style....in north east USA we dont spread the whole course at a time... it has to be faster ur way... ....hey u need a laborer so u can focus on the money part lol great videos man
I really feel your pain on this one. I'm doing a self-build extension which I started in October. Only just getting to final fix now. Been a b*tch of a winter for it. Really enjoying watching this series though fella. Keep up the good work.
Hey Stu had a question and would be greatly appreciated if you answered it. On jobs like this and in general, who builds your scaffolding? You or does a scaffolding company come in and do it? Cheers mate. Hopefully the winter work doesn't keep ya down
Pretty sure Stu is part egyptian, cuz he could build a pyramid by himself! Hope you made the scaffolder's and labourer's wages too on that job, bet you'll find a lad through your academy eager to apprentice with you . great job as always.
Don't know if you where taught this but, if you have a string line up to cut your bricks for a pike, instead of laying a bed then laying the brick, and removing it too be cut, place the brick on a dry bed, give it two cross joint widths with the brick below, and when you cut the brick and then bed it on, it will be perfect with your pike string line !! Give it two cross joint widths towards the string line not back from it 👍
Weather is dreadful ain't it stu, trying to build a detached garage and its either frozen or chucking down with the rain.i pray for the days where I don't have knock the ice off the water butt 😣
Hi stu, I'm about to take on a massive project of double storey side and single rear wrap around extension all by myself. Is this possible and how long do u you reckon it will take me.. I've recently enrolled on a bricklayer course and I've done my NVQ L2. I'm trying my best to learn. From never laying a brick or touched I'm in all sorts of issues. However I am bow able to erect walls both with brick and block. Will need u to come see my work.
stu crompton well I wanted a challenge and will take my time where I need to. I am aslo going to build my rear shed first which is 4x8 metres long. This should give me a more hands on approach. Maybe you can come help me and guide me, also post the complete video on UA-cam. I will pay your costs not a problem. Ofcourse as long as it's reasonable.
Get your arse and elbows covered or you will regret it when your older, nowt worse than damp weather for your joints,I'm a 52 year old spread by the way so speaking from experience
What you talking about a pike wall? Do you mean a gable end wall. You head from another video the guy say up on the pike he meant up on the top not building a pike they swim in rivers.

how much would a brickie want to go the extra mile to putting mortar batten catchers in the cavity and clean out regularly?
You are professional.....I love your job.
Hey Stu! I hope your Christmas and New Year was briliant and you give many good presents, such as tools. P.S. Sorry for gramatical mistakes!

The joys of the game big man...
Are you meant to fix brick ties when building pikes or no?
We fix a tarpaulin to the wooden roof structure and then over the scaffolding and tie it tight to scaffolding to cover us in on jobs like that 👍
Sometimes we even get space heater up to warm things up to 😂
Well done stu if anyone can you can. Keep the videos coming. Be reet😀

Question! Why did you build with blocks then change to brick for a few course then back to block?
working to different heights
Life of a bricky/ builder, Better than sitting @ Home, Counting the stippling on the ceiling 😂
Hi bro nice job I really like your job
Thanks lamin 👍
I understand the horrible weather in the Uk, but have you watched the “Crazy Framer” video’s? Now that boy does go through some hardship....!!
You’re a grafter lad! Bloody hard work on your own! Good going 👍
One question. How will the fascia’s be attached on that pike?
He forgot to leave the pockets for the ladders.
Pretty sure Stu is part egyptian, cuz he could build a pyramid by himself! Hope you made the scaffolder's and labourer's wages too on that job, bet you'll find a lad through your academy eager to apprentice with you . great job as always.

Think you’re very brave and a little stupid to take on a job like that with zero experience. I can visit anytime as long as u pay me for my time 👍

I have watched you since I was an apprentice few years back. You are an admin on bricklayers worldwide right?
I’m not admin on any bricklayer page mate, I don’t like the attitude of some of them pages
