I really like that redbull does this kinda stuff. They are extreme
I hate to over the top acting by it.
Extremely deceptive in this case my dear... That is no windshield, it is pulling him along faster...
Record? Guess it depends on who you ask....
@@markwallace1251 How is it pulling him lol, it isn't
I wonder if the people that break the records drink redbull
@@laurasanchez7105 you’ve clearly never heard of drafting have you??

Underrated
Lmao
Lol I just keep picturing it lol whack! Come on guys I told you not to do that lol
💀RIP
Could you just try and imagine doing 58 miles per hour on ice skates? What a fantastic feeling it must be. Congratulations Kjeld!
Imagine if Americans left the past behind and joined the rest of the world in using the metric system.
@@carlmarks8170 The Imperial system is better for relative human experiences like speed of a car and temperature outside. 100 speed units should represent a fast speed which it does in mph but doesn't in kph. Similarly 100 should represent a really hot temperature not 37. Metric is fine for science though
@@frequentrage3806that's subjective though. You might say that 100C being hot is more intuitive but someone from Europe might say: Celsius is more intuitive because 0C is freezing cold, 10C is chilly, 20C is perfect, 30C is warm, 40C is very hot, etc...
The intuition comes with time and not from the scale used
@@hypnogri5457 since when has anyone used scales from 1-4? It’s not natural, we operate on scales of 10s we were born with 10 fingers for a reason
@@frequentrage3806 It really just depends on the person. Btw, not all people used decimal, there were other number systems, too. For example you might segment each finger into 3 pieces so that you can count with your thumb. This lets you count to 12 on one hand. By this counting system the natural number is 12 and not 10. (The Egyptians used a number system with base 12 so its not just some random example.)
What is “natural” changes over time. People will always think that the thing they are familiar with is more “natural” but in reality its just a matter of using the system and adapting to it. (Most of the time)
Also 100F = hot is just as arbitrary as 100C being boiling water or 0C being freezing cold. By the way, my point isnt that C is better than F. Its just as good even in science as its just a different scale. (Shifted and scaled, all scientific formulas *could* be used with F. (There is Kelvin analog for F too, so its just as useful for temperatures near 0K.)
Now the other imperial units… those are less intuitive and less practical, in my opinion - thats a different beast entirely.
Btw: A scale of 4 is used for GPA’s in America. Some ratings are also x/4. 4 is a practical and small number. But yeah, scales of all different sizes are used everywhere all around the world.
Some psychological/scientific surveys use 4 answers on their scale. “I strongly agree”, “I agree”, “I disagree”, “I strongly disagree”, etc… the list goes on
57.78 mph is the speed limit on most two lane roads in America. That is absolutely crazy speed!!
keep in mind they are tracking his speed in kilometers, not in miles per hour
@@brannonsmith22 so?
@@brannonsmith22 the 57.78mph they gave is the ice skaters speed, in mph. 93 km/h = 57.78 mph
um......no, no it isnt, its like 45 tops, the freeway is 60 and thats usually 4 lanes
Never saw a sign that had a speed limit with 57.78.
Maybe average is close 57. Considering freeways are 65 and major roads are 45.
100 km/h next 👍🏻
Definitely possible
He just fuckin did it again!! 103 kph
Love when he smiles while ice skating,, proof that he loves what he does
Keep going Kjeld! You are such an inspiration!🔥🔥

it honestly didnt look that fast i was like oh i can beat that then they said 93 like HUHHHH??

As a Short Track Speed Skater, I have been dreaming of the day when Redbull does something with Speed Skating, sure he is a long tracker, but Speed Skating is Speed Skating
one kmh faster and he would have started time travelling 😂
i don’t think that’s right
@@savethesnails9608 it is
In the Back to the Future franchise, the DeLorean time machine is a time travel device made by retrofitting a DMC DeLorean vehicle with a flux capacitor. The car requires 1.21 gigawatts of power and needs to travel 88 miles per hour (142 km/h) to initiate time travel.

must be a joke😂

57.8 mph for those stateside
yeah we know, we use both here
Holy fuq

Because its basically 100 and i feel like even nubs know that 100kph is like 60 mph

Speed Skating World Record with windshield. Not to be confused with Speed Skating World Record.
Tool assisted speedrun, not to be confused with the glitchless run.

Without needing to drink red Bull 😉
real humble there guy
Jonathan Mcdonald oh ok. So according to you it’s cool for other elite athletes to break records for Red Bull within their niche, just not me. Fair enough.
Like I care. Doesn’t change my life one way or the other. I’ll just keep on, keeping on.
But go ahead and show me one other person doing anything remotely close to this:
225lbs overhead jumping up to 16” box
155lbs overhead jumping up to 24” box
115lbs overhead jumping up to 30” box
Matter of fact, I challenge any person - any athlete - to game of physical fitness HORSE. Like the game of SKATE. Skill for skill, challenge for challenge - the first person to spell HOSE, loses.
I challenge anyone. I’ll put money on it.
@@TheTkrum Cause nobody would do such an rediculous excercise. Oh and nobody asked.

Pussyboy can’t even stand there with that weight over your head. No wonder why you can’t relate
i thought he was gonna get wings and fly away
sick
I wanna see him do the same without a wind shield in front of him
It's a bit of a letdown, true that... but be aware that the faster you go, the quicker your legs will move to the side when pushing forward. If you compare it to cycling, for instance, it's like he only has one gear.
If everyone uses a windshield its more balanced. If not the one using the wind to his advantage would win.
Luleå ❤️❤️
When I clicked, I thought you were gonna send him over some 40 ft death gap but I'm happy it's just a speed record after all.
wow insane
Wow!

Why don't you marry it?
I would if I could.
Redbull 😎
He's a very good guy
crazy!
Nice looking driver.
I believe there should be two very different records one with and one without windscreen
agreed. it's the same like tailgating a truck on a bike
Well yeah if you take physics out of the equation... I could jump real high if you took away gravity.
and if you figure out how to do that with the equivalent of an umbrella then be my guest
Congratulations I knew you could do it
CMON MAN 7 MORE KPH!!! GET IT DONE!!!
This is cool. BUT! The drag created by the wind break should make it a new category of record. ASSISTED.
Agreed (unless others in the category aren't unassisted?9
No that wouldn't make any sense because speed skating is done indoors where there is no wind. They only went outside because there are no indoor rinks of that size to pick up speed. So totally makes sense why they did that.
@@xRipeh it's not about having wind. It's the wind resistance when he's going 50mph. The screen and car in front of him takes the resistance factor away.
Es asombroso siono raza
Yaaas netherlands i love my dudes
he's drafting the air shield it could not happen any other way
True that... but be aware that the faster you go, the quicker your legs will move to the side when pushing forward. If you compare it to cycling, for instance, it's like he only has one gear.
Red Bull gives you wings
*Casually takes a sip of Redbull*
Kjeld Nuts
I cant even step on ice 😭
75 km/h on ice, impossible
This guy: *hold my air resistance*
LEKKER MANNNN
You got to do this with your own power, no truck, no suction from the air behind you. Set a real record. Good luck!
The shake and bake... On ice
Negative pressure in that umbrella..
That's what I was thinking, Just like race cars draft behind each other to block the wind.
Yeah that is the point, he gets pulled along
Maybe I should switch sports from cycling to speed skating... hmm they share similar tight fitting clothes and helmets XD
I saw you pic and I thought I had a hair on my screen
Did there are competition of roller skates in red bull
That's my uni that they tested the windshield at! TU/e in Eindhoven
Well u could say redbull gives you wings he was flying
GG
Red Bull - the litter company.
Epic record incredible to think the Cheetah runs this speed without any inhancements.
Enhancements *
drag a shield in front of a cheetah, and it will break the sound barrier
Cheetah still need to deal with the drag
93km/h is insane. Well, lije 80km/h on 4cm wide xc-skiing skis (without the iron edge of alpine skies!), that's also insane (down a ski slope)! What I did was very scary. Like VERY scary. I think, more scary than this... Your skies don't come off like alpine skies when you crash... And no helmet😱
Old news for the dutch, like 4weeks ago
Wow so fast...so how fast was that!??
Why is he wearing an aerodynamic suit lol
So what's the unassisted speed record?
21
I am also from the netherlands
Man said red bull wheres my super suit
that is kinda stupid how he has a windshield in front of him thats like having a windshield in front anything going for speed world record of course wind and air will slow you down why not have fans behind him pushing him too
But that's the point, just to see how fast a human can go and to do that, you have to get rid of a few variables
@Kevin Kebuin it's about top speed . If anyone wants to break his record they would do the same thing. Do you understand now?
@@josephseed8965 THIS!
can you show me a video of you skating at 100 mph
Take it to 100kph.
i thought in the beginning he was in one spot
When i clicked i thought he'd hold on to the car how foolish i was 😂😂😂
So how fast can he go without the aerodynamic help?? Anybody who is smart knows he's actually being pulled along.
it's cheating for sure but for those that really know he is not being pulled. There is no vacuum created.
@@JohnTye your right, no vacuum, but draft. The same they use in racing the world around, from running to auto racing
if you direct the air underneath the vehicle you can create blanket of air for you to float upon and you only need the skates to keep yourself going straight.

The race for over 100 kmh now?
Is it fair to use the aerodynamic assist in this world record? It seems like a significant advantage that deviates from normal speed skating equipment
No, not fair at all! I would call it outright CHEATING, myself. lmao No way around that. He's getting help from an outside mechanical device. He should just do it legit, then it would be 'End of', ya know? Fair point! lol
Fucks sake, that’s part of the record. It’s not like he’s claiming he did it without the assist
I was asking this myself. I figured it'd be labeled as assigned in the book
It would be in a different category
Agree. I was thinking about this too. In my opinion it should be without assistant, but it's still fine anyway
i live in the netherlands

My guy. 93km/h.
@@AliveEST google - the value of 93! 😂.....
@@dineshsinghkachave132 We use km/h here. Why tf do u think they said 93mph???
@@AliveEST i got your point ..... I have not converted mph in kmph ..... I have just told the value of 93! ( 93 factorial ) .....world speed records are measured in metric system not in imperial system and i know that too 😅....... Example the value of 4! = 4*3*2*1= 24
Fantastic!!! By the way, Oprah went 106 kph on hockey skates but it wasn't official.....................
Bgus naik dyno.. senang...
What about roller blades? Is there any records?
That shouldn't stand! The fact that he used a shield wrecked it. It should be overcoming the drag and the friction without any aids. This is the equivalent of setting the record high jump but on the moon.
Settle down. Motor paced records are a thing. I'm quite confident few other people could achieve that speed on skates, even if they were being towed. FWIW, the motor paced speed record for a pedal powered bicycle is 296km/h. Should we just dismiss it because there was a car in front of it breaking the headwind?
