Yes, I am quite addicted to Folio Society, such beautiful books. Thanks for visiting my BookTube, really appreciate the connection. Hope you are well, creative & productive now.
Such a beautiful copy of this book!! Loved hearing your thoughts and I can’t wait to read the book myself! I absolutely love unicorns! I would love more fantasy books with unicorns.
Yes, it's all a learning experience, I guess. I will have to look at my settings again when I upload. This video was tricky because I was trying to feature book covers & art, but the loading time was ridiculous. I will need to ponder. Really glad you enjoyed what was eventually uploaded. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
excellent response to the book. I have to take a little bit of issue with Neil Gaiman (not much - I'm no aristocracy supporter): what about Byron or Margaret Cavendish? I met Peter Porter, near three decades back, when he came to our university!
Yes, of course, Gaiman likes to be a bit cheeky, so slyly comic. And, it's probably the Australian coming out in me by enjoying his dig. I love Byron. Don't know Cavendish, must look her up, thanks for the prod.
Gavin, oh wow, I wish I'd had that opportunity. I have always loved Porter's poetry, such an inspiration, but I never got close to the man himself. I would have loved to have met him. What was he like in person?
@@apoetreadstowrite I’m having to think back to when I was 18! Just a normal bloke. He was there as a favour, I think, to the guy who led our seminar. Maybe I was a little quiet- I’d not met many writers, and had studied his “Your Attention Please” when I was about 15, 16! Just seemed a nice chap, no ego.
@@GenreBooks23: ah, but you got closer than me. I really like his poetry. I love Philip Larkin also, in smaller doses, I can't understand Larkin's racism & sexism, especially when he had everything so easy his whole life. It seems most ungenerous. But man oh man, the poetry...
Sorry this episode is so late to premier. I had a lot of problems in loading this one, but it's here now - hope you enjoy.
Ooof those end pages are lovely. Good to see you Phillip.

Yes, definitely. You'd adore the Peter Porter/Arthur Boyd collaboration on unicorns. It's a really special book.
@@apoetreadstowrite I’ve already added it to my list after this video! Thank you so much for bringing it into your video.
@@Maeve_Ever_Books: Thanks for stopping by. This BookTube is a wonderful lark!
Great video! Sometimes I have trouble uploading too🤦♀️
