My favorite comedians of all time. I'm glad England panelists voted Stan Laurel as it's best comedian ever, because he is. Complete genius. God I love these two. No one makes me laugh more or harder. 😊
I love these 2. I've been watching them all my life and if I'm having a bad day I'll watch Stan and Ollie. I was born in the wrong time. I'd give anything to live in the1930s through the 1950s.
My mother was born in 1920, my father in 1922. I was born in 1957. Nothing too thrilling back in the 30s thru the 50s, according to them. Alot of businesses didn't change their appearances from the 1900s thru my birthdate. I still remember what it all looked like when I was a couple of years old. Rather depressing, dismal.
I'm a 34yo man and my mom introduced me to all the comedy teams. Love the teams from L&H, three stooges, Abbott and Costello, Martin and Lewis, Marx brothers. Best era. Not just for comedies but for movies in general. Amazing era
The backstory in this movie is pretty heavy. Abusive foster parents who were in it for the money and didn't give a damn abt the child. Probably a frequent issue of the day. Aside from that, I think POYT is a comedy masterpiece. LMAO!
Jacquie Lyn was a fantastic little actress in this. At first, I thought she may have been Stan Laurel’s daughter, Lois Lauren, until I looked it up! Strangely enough, Jacquie Lyn and Lois Lauren both passed away in Granada Hills where my Grandmother lived… This is my first time ever seeing this movie and it’s so good seeing Laurel and Hardy in more dramatic roles, mixed with comedy of course. They were brilliant and truly the best comedy duo of all time, in my opinion. Thank you so much for sharing this great little piece of cinematic history. 🌹
Originally Ollie was gonna be the one listening to the little girl’s bedtime story, but on the set, he insisted it would be much funnier if it was Stan instead and convinced Stan to do it. This was a rarity, since Oliver Hardy usually left the writing of their films to Stan Laurel and didn’t make his own suggestions very often. But he was right, and the result is one of the funniest scenes ever. The way Stan looks around every time the girl switches to a different character voice, as if there must be someone else in the room…LOL!
I once saw Laurel do a mime in one of their movies which involved him rolling around on a bed slow motion after a fall. I had never seen anything quite so masterful before, it was pure genius. Brenda
Pack Up Your Troubles is one of my favorite's it's an early sound movie and one of Laurel & Hardy's first films followed by quite a few more really good Laurel & Hardy movies.
Interesting & entertaining. Very funny way for the story to end. After the long searching odyssey. With the little girl in tow. Forgot about that army cook!!! 😨
I've seen this film more times than any other L&H movie, and it still cracks me up. The biggest case of mistaken identity sets this film apart from all others. Laurel gets a little unexpected sugar from the would-be bride, while L&H regular Billy Gilbert calls for his Winchester (41:13).
I always get a kick out of that clip when Hardy and Laurel were throwing hot water at the bad guys, especially the clip when Laurel was pouring hot water at the one of the bad guys bald head🤣🤣🤣.
Ohhh God This is Gold!!! Pure Gold!!! Thank you so very much for creating this channel and posting this brilliant comedy! I have been a great fan of Flip and Flap ( this is what we call them in my country) since I was a child I grew up on this beautiful stuff. And I thought I have seen them all. Boy was I wrong! Thanks to your kindness I am discovering new films I have never seen. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Cheers By the way you have one more new subscriber😃😆🤣
As comments I read. Great up watching them as a kid like so many great comedy teams back them example Three stooges Max Brother Abbott and Costello Lural and hardy You will never see great class like when I grew up before I go to bed I still watch them all I do not want any TV specially today and they cannot make things comic teams like they did back in 30s 40s 50s be safe
Oh TOO BAD, they just don't make greatness like those 2 anymore. Just pure comedy. Glad they were during my lifetime. Today we have no talents like Jimmy "pimple" Yuk!
Part of this movie feel like it was directed by George Stevens because the dramatic weight they have, who actually worked as a cinematographer for Stan and Ollie in the late 20s early 30s
The First National Bank Of Beverley Hills,Cal. seen in this L&H feature film..no longer exist..it's now the home of The TV Hall Of Fame and..The Paley Center For Media.
I checked all the comments, doesn't anyone else know besides me? The cook talking to L and H ... Off camera they waited, and waited - the actor who was hired to play the cook DID NOT show up, so the director himself, George Marshall, said he was going to play the cook! Also it was Stan's idea, about 15:00, that the cook should be in jail with them. 😮
This was the first Laurel and Hardy movie I watched. Dad taped it when it came on channel 4. It's funny but it is also their darkest film in my opinion. Not just because of the war scenes but the girl being orphaned and living with an abusive couple. That was probably a reality for a lot of kids who lived during that time. 😢 On a lighter note, how could 2 WWI veterans not know what a Winchester is?? 😂
I Don't Remember Pack Up Yout Troubles After The Episode with MEN O'WAR*THE FIXER-UPPERS*SCRAM! I Do Know PARDON US Goes Before PACK UP YOUR TROUBLE on The Laurel and Hardy Show in 1986.
the director, george marshall, plays the cook with the knife. among others he made the movie "destry rides again" which is one of the crop of movies of 1939 which were destined to be classics. hardy seemed to play a slightly different style than usual, more streetwise and a bit menacing. i have to think marshall directed him to act that way.
He got out-of-whack with 19 because of the documentary I think, but 37 is a miss so far. I might have numbered them based on release order, but that's me.
@@OurladyrulesOf course you know, Laurel and Hardy are connected to MGM during this time. Shirley Temple's studio was Twentieth-Century Fox, so they didn't even work at the same studio.
They did provide a great deal of comic distraction for the poor souls of the Great Depression who (if they had a quarter) could step out of the republican gloom of economic policies and into a couple of hours of escapism that was needed badly for a suffering people back then. Yet we keep electing that party even today. This was also the year 1932 when FDR would come into office and save us all.

Behind Charlie Chaplin.

Me too, always felt I would be happier! Less crazies in the world!
very well said😁

I was not born yet for the first World War but I was drafted into the army for the Korean war served for two years at Seoul and Busan .
And a very wonderful and very smart baby ❤😊
The young girl who played the orphaned child is so precocious. She's got talent!

Can't get enough of these two 😂 I could watch them from morning to night.
Me too🤣🤣🤣.
Yes we had bunkbeds at Tokyo, Seoul and Pusan our company was The First Radio and Leaflets Group.
First time seeing this movie! It was such a joy to see something new of theirs. Funny Movie! Pure genius!

Priceless! The greatest comedy duo of all time. I love James Finlayson facial expressions are so funny.
He was always my favorite Laurel and Hardy regular... 🍺😎👍
I once saw Laurel do a mime in one of their movies which involved him rolling around on a bed slow motion after a fall. I had never seen anything quite so masterful before, it was pure genius. Brenda

RIP, thank you for bringing laughter to our lives.
I keep watching this movie. There's something special about their relationship. They have a genuineness that's refreshing. I like Eddie.

I love watching movies of these 2 are so funny 😅
Nobody made me laugh harder than Stan Laurel when he started crying and he would be speaking in the middle of his crying very funny
I always get a kick out of that clip when Hardy and Laurel were throwing hot water at the bad guys, especially the clip when Laurel was pouring hot water at the one of the bad guys bald head🤣🤣🤣.
This one's a little more serious than some of their other movies.
Hilarious. I havent seen this in many years and it still cracks me up.
These two great comedians were bless by the Lord, with there God given talents, They we're the greats of all times. 🙏
Oliver Hardy’s father was a soldier in the Confederate army. He was wounded at the Battle of Antietam in 1862

A classic one shot scene of Stan and the little girl when she's telling the story of Goldilocks.

Things were a lot slower in that era, compared to now a days. There's people out in this world who is always in a hurry. 😮😮😮
52:23
The Hershey bar. Unchanged since the days of Laurel and Hardy👍
Hershey's used a clip of a dancing L&H for it's "The Great All-American Chocolate Bar" ad campaign in the 70s.😎
Two words... The Cook ... the GOAT.
He was playing by the Director of this movie George Marshall Who went on to direct several Glenn Ford movies
Oh TOO BAD, they just don't make greatness like those 2 anymore. Just pure comedy. Glad they were during my lifetime. Today we have no talents like Jimmy "pimple" Yuk!
Glenn Ford definitely showed George Marshall this scene when they we’re filming 1959 the gazebo
There still the best
Part of this movie feel like it was directed by George Stevens because the dramatic weight they have, who actually worked as a cinematographer for Stan and Ollie in the late 20s early 30s
Some spots that entertained me: 14:36 33:43 59:54
The special effects are pretty impressive considering the era!
This one's so funny 🤣 i never eae this one growing up
Oliver went through the entire war and didn't lose a pound. That took effort.
George Marshall went on to do quite a few Glenn Ford movies in the 1950s including the gazebo
As always very beautiful women on all of the videos 😊❤

how many fatal injuries did Ollie suffer....how about falling down the stairs in Music Box or down the chimney in Fixer Uppers...and...and...and.

11:55---James Finlayson (the originator of the Homer Simpson "D'oh)
This is going back to the 1960's but, Does anybody remember a wrestler by the name of Mad Dog Vachon? @5:42

He’s quite menacing in the role He plays his role like he’s in a black comedy
I wonder if George Marshall did that because he wanted to mix things up a little bit I mean good on him for that
But what ever happened to Eddie???
Eddie Smith got killed on the western front in 1917, and the boys went looking for his little girl at the end of the war.
What's the name of the short when ollie say don't wipe gravy on me
The baby Jackie Lyn....passed away 2002...Granada Hills

Can You Put PARDON US on There Nexts Week? Thanks.
Ming The Merciless as a welfare agent ! -- PERFECT!
Charles Middleton was perfect in that role In this this came out several years before he was Ming the merciless
In this, he sounds a lot like Robert Stack, when he was hosting unsolved mysteries
I really don’t like how they are treated as the bad guys in this, they just doing their jobs
Where is video 📹 19 and video 📹 37? You are missing videos 📹. Can you count right?

wonder why Toed in the Hole is still copyrighted?
It's not, it's on youtube

I loved these guys, but couldn't stand the three stooges, my brother loved them.
And also Destry rides again
is that the good shirley temple??
