I’ve been using M4 since February and I’m 49. My friends who are 30 say my skin looks amazing. Wish I had known about it before! Just added tretinoin from Alloy. Thank you.
@@myalloyis this just available in USA? Tried to send message to Alloy but only asked what state I was in. I am living in Europe. Any equivalent over here? I am a Canadian living in 🇨🇭
@@myalloy// what about wrinkles for those of us that never used estrogen at all, but want to now? So she said...perimenopause...so post menopause is too late. Ugh
In addition to using a bi-weekly estradiol patch, I also use .01% estradiol vaginal cream on my face. With other hormone replacement modalities, I get full hormone bloodwork approximately every 3-4 months. Since starting the cream on my face, none of my blood values have increased. However, I do not think the .01% is strong enough. Will ask for .03% my next refill. Thanks for sharing this study!
Please, ALLOY, ship to Europe too! We are a developing country here in Germany - had to convince so many doctors before I got help (7 doctors, multiple visits... ). Thank you for your work (info, research...) from Germany 🇩🇪
@@nicolemerz1731 Ditto. I am a Canadian living in 🇨🇭. Would be great to get it here as well. Until then it will be vaginal estrogen cream on back of hands and under eyes. Thanks Dr. Ellen Gendler! NYC top dermatologist. I follow on Instagram
As a 60 yo licensed esthetician, my comment is for Caroline Yu, when layering your skincare with M4 you want to treat this product as a “cream serum”. Meaning you will cleanse, tone, apply water-based serums, THEN apply M4 like a cream serum since it’s thicker, then your moisturizer and SPF. The folks at Alloy could use some skin specialists like estheticians (as we’ll talk about it with our clients as I specialized in Anti-Aging) and dermatologists to explain usage. I’m so very excited to share this with my clients!
I would love to use my M4 prescription twice a day, but because Im only sent enough for 30 days its not enough. Addtionally I would like to be able to have enough for my neck and chest.
Yes, that's a great point. This is why we need both M4 for what Caroline defines as "the face" and possibly estradiol for body parts that are important to cover - back of the hand for one. As a nurse who has started many IVs on people age 60, 70, 80 and 90 - and 100 - aside from rolling, hard veins the fragile skin can literally peel off with the tape - this is why paper tape is favored.
I love that you say women should be using estrogen for the rest of their days. I know a lot of drs here in the USA want to cut women off of hormone replacement therapy at 65 whereas in the UK (Where I am from) you can take it indefinitely. I hope this is the case as I take your prescribed HRT too. Also, have you considered formulating a vitamin C serum? Thank you
There is hope: a recent study has concluded that it is never too late to start hormone replacement. I advocate for BHRT topical creams. I never recommend oral administration.
Facenearth has some lovely products including a vit C serum. I've been using the night cream for a couple of months and like it very much. I also use castor oil at night which has improved eyebrow growth and softened lines. I'm nearly 66 yrs old and people think I'm still in my 50's. I use BHRT estradiol and progesterone from Ona's.
Perhaps I should have relistened to this video but what I was interested in was how the Estradiol arm did in compared to the Estriol arm but somehow missed that. I took from the video that Alloy uses Estriol.
Hi! Yes, our M4 Estriol Face Cream contains 0.3% estriol. In this study, we also compared it to 0.01% estradiol combined with our cream base to compare the efficacy and safety of both forms of estrogen! Results for both 0.3% estriol and 0.01% estradiol were comparable! You can view the full report at myalloy.com/m4 🥰
I love Alloy!! I wanted more information on estradiol vs estriol. Obviously the formulation is different - what were the outcomes? I'm also very interested in a DHEA vaginal product. Warmest regards Jennie
I have been getting little red dots on my forearms. Maybe called Purpura?? Some say iIt comes with age, and some say it’s caused by sun damage. Would the estrogen cream do anything for that?
As I know it has sth to do with progesterone deficiency, problems mit genetic enzymes for liver detox which I have. I had those red spots already when being 25 years old. That time I had also progesterone deficiency but did not get treated for it even after I lost my embryo. Now being in perimenopause my red spots have increased. I get now bioidentical progesterone and hope new ones will not develop.
I am surprised that there is zero absorption of estriol into the systemic circulation. When 0.1% estriol cream is used vaginally, pharmacokinetic studies do show some systemic absorption, albeit small. With vaginal estriol, the protocol is to apply daily for 2 weeks then use bi-weekly.
Is there any contraindications with using M4 or even the vaginal Estrogen product (European) on sun damaged skin? Skin with actinic keratosis and potential for SCC
Absolutely, thank you for this lovely comment! If you're using M4 in the morning, apply any serums first, then apply M4! You can follow up with any additional moisturizers if needed, then end your skincare routine with SPF. ☺

Has this been tested on women with melasma? Estrogen cream has been shown to increase melasma or cause brown spots in arms etc where the cream is applied
Hi! Our study found no evidence of melasma or increased pigmentation. While we continue to invest in quality research, there is currently no research to date on topical estrogen and melasma. If you have a history of or propensity for melasma, we advise you to start slowly, applying M4 to small area. If melasma appears, discontinue use. As always we advise using a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily!
It caused me to get really bad migraines! My dr said it was messing with my hormones so this woman is not being truthful! If it didn’t get into your blood system it wouldn’t affect your skin …just think about it - it’s pretty simple! That’s why you can’t use any kind of retinol when you are pregnant because anything you put on your skin gets into your blood system!!!
Hi Cleopatra! We're sorry to hear about your experience. If you've been using M4, please message us/your doctor directly so we can help get you the answers and support you need.

Estriol cream used vaginally is absorbed into the systemic circulation, so there’s no reason why using it on your face would not lead to systemic absorption.
