I adore this car. The sound is unlike anything else I’ve heard. The transmission is fantastic (unlike the POS MT82 they put in the non Shelby mustangs). The S550 generation is beautiful. The engine reliability is a concern, but wouldn’t stop me from buying one

If you like the GT350 you would love the new GT500. I’ve rented one on Turo and the GT500 gives you supercar levels of performance. I was blown away with how good it is and also how stupid fun it is to drive.

Just picked up a 2019 Oxford White one without stripes .( Simply Amazing)It took me forever to find it with the Recaro's, Tech package, and gurney flap. The only engine mod I did was a passenger catch can. It's on ice to the spring can't wait to enjoy this beast. Cool garage btw 👍🏽

Ford invested with Dow of years ago in a company that reinforces plastics with carbon fiber, and, if I recall correctly, the GT350 was the first production Ford to get some of the carbon fiber reinforced plastic to cut down on both cost and weight. They’re working on engine timing covers, and other components now.

Wow, a good old American muscle car on Normal Guy! My heart be still, the Mustang GT is my daily driver:) Don't discount those carbon fiber wheels! They look awesome. But perhaps a 'Superleggera' treatment is in order? Thanks for the honest review!

Honestly the stock sound is perfect imo best sounding stock exhaust on the market

I have a couple of the r versions, I tell people it's a 40k motor w 20k of chassis wrapped in a rental car.

I have one and I love it. And I track mine. On a track they they fly. Just look up fastestlaps. The R is only one second slower than a prosche GT3 around willow springs.

I’ve owned one for 3 years now and it’s a great car at any price. The best driving mode is track but put the traction control ON. Every thing tightens up including the steering. It’s the optimal mode in my opinion…just a tip. The steering/suspension is a little too loose in Sport mode
Yeah it's stupid that track mode defaults to TC off.
That’s my buddy Christian‘s old whip. Great car. But he’s having a blast in his ‘new to him’ F430 and not looking back. 😊

I can personally vouch for this Mustang. I know the previous ownr. This car is clean and has been garage kept. It a beautiful car in person. The best part is its a manual transmission ❤️.

I’m with you Dan! Love the Mustangs. Not over a Ferrari but they are great daily drivers. I have a GT Convertible as a daily. I need the auto trans so no GT350’s in my future, but if they put a dual clutch or a 10 speed auto in a 350 I’d have it in a heart beat!
I believe the 500 has a dual clutch

At 3:14 what you said is exactly what that is. Ford made it that way to save weight and also for stronger rigidity.

As a GT350R owner, I'd say take it to a track and push it to its limits before saying what it needs - not even tapping into a fraction of what it's capable of. And the R is the way to go if you can swing it, owned a base before it and the upgrades make a huge difference in cornering speeds.

Which generation Ford FPC engine do you have? I heard their where 3 FPC generations BEFORE Ford discontinued the engine. I wonder how warranty works on a discontinued engine? (just like the 2000 Cobra R engine?) Anyone remember the 2000 Cobra R engine....."the greatest engine Ford ever made "discontinued after 1 year"

That didn't look like a track pack car. So that makes me wonder if it has magna ride. You also said it did a nose dive and wiggle. The track pack cars don't do that wiggle. I totally agree the 5.2 needs about 100 more HP. Hi flo cats and E-85 makes the car so much better.

I had a GT350 and it remains one of the most capable sports cars I have ever owned. I put 2 days of business attire, my laptop and all my associated business shit, a mountain bike and all that shit, and everything I need for a track day into the beast. I then drove it from my home in VA to Austin, TX, toured LiveSTRONG, met with a medical connectivity company, found some kick ass trails, then drove to COTA and did a track day, then drove it home. Tell me what other car let's you do all that? Unloading at COTA was hilarious because I looked like I was moving out of an apartment....

I think it's so interesting to see where the values of these have gone.
When they first launched, people were all over themselves, talking about their investemt and about how they had a Mustang that in a few years would be worth three to four times as much. Hellcat owners did too, but the 350R owners took it to the next level.

Yep, even the non track pack GT500 gives you basically a supercar levels of performance. Schmee150 cracked two of the CF wheels on his track pack GT500 doing a rally. So I’m not sure how practical CF wheels are.

If you drive this car on the curvy course, you wouldn't say it's a typical American muscle car. Shelby GT350 is a very balanced car around the corners and it's design for that purpose. It's so much fun to drive her on the twisty roads.
I can tell it's not a typical American car just driving on the street. 🙂

The 350s of this generation are legendary, but its not Camaro ZL1 level of sports car. This car ranks with the SS1LE package Camaro. Mustang style is just as definitive as any sports car out there.

@Nick Crecelius You are not aware of 6th gen Camaros then. All of GMs Alpha chassis vehicles compete as a sports car on a much higher level than the American Muscle car scene.
My friend has a 2014 zl1 and my 2021 Mustang GT with the 10 speed is faster. Have you drove these cars?

430 was absolutely the better choice. That was also my first Ferrari; 430 Spyder, and still miss it to the day. For a budget sports car this thing is incredible, If you want to be the moron who crashes into a crowd of people leaving a show LOLOLOLOLOL
