We are Super excited for y'all. PEX PEX PEX... If I could have installed Pex drain pipes I would have done that there too. We appreciate you sharing as we are just behind y'all. Thanx again for all you do. Be Safe!!
So proud of you I did this kind of work 39 years ago when I built my cottage in northern Ontario Canada don’t feel bad jay for a couple of leaks you did much better than I did back in the day I had water leaking everywhere in the house so at the time my wife had to mark every hose with a marker p.s. I want to be a Patreon member but I just bought a very nice e-bike but it’s payed off I will join your journey
You will need to insulate that tankless hot water heater if temps are below freezing and leave the faucets dripping. But you will love the tankless heater
Another note you may want to add an accumulator to regulate the pressure and ease the pump. We connect our pump to a harbor freight solar battery and use a trickle charge solar panel to keep it charged.
Hot water is a game changer! We have a similar setup. Sometimes it’s hard to find the sweet spot for those on demand water heaters but you’ll figure it out.
For the very many connections you had to make, I am very impressed!!! You did a great job, and as fas as those solder connections, YEEEE HAWWWW that's awesome that none of them leaked! I know you were sweating those for sure! Now, get those drains run away from the house, get the shower finished as far as the head and the pipe to the wall, Fix those few leaks and then sit back and take a break for a day or two, you deserve it!
Yo bud. Again deep respect u did one hell of a job. No experience not a deterrent lots of heart oh yeah. Looking forward to see Jens reaction. So well done. May Peace Health and Happiness follow you and yours
Proud of you mate. Cracking job. I did lot of copper work on our house. Never seen the plastic pipe work.Seems a good solid way to do it.Those clips if you put a flat screw driver in the crimped area . and twist you can undo them. I repair domestic appliances. some washing machines have them on. I have a special tool to do them. but a screw driver usualy works better. LOL.
Thanks Phil for the tip....I Googled it and everything said saw them off.....and I was like no way. I took the screw driver and it popped off pretty easy like you said. Thank yoi for that tip though
Have the same hot water heater, it’s ok,finicky to get a consistent temperature. Also some tried to nest inside above the manifold and if set a fire. Good thing I had a fireboard behind it so no real damage. Did have to take it apart to blow out all ashes remove carbon.
Not sure if anyone else mentioned it it it’s a good idea to pull the diffusers out of the faucets before initial turn on. Prevent getting all the crud caught up in the screens.
gray water can be used on gardens but don't use chemicals in the drainage ... use organic such type that is safer. If there is a leak in the 12V water pump system... even slow ... it will cause the pump to cycle with things off...
Consider a residential 4 gallon pressure tank. These should be mounted inside or well insulated ... This way, the pump doesn't run every time you open the valve. It will build pressure and you can use some for a while before the pump turns on. It made a big difference in my 12V radio shack set up. Here is just a sample and you can pick them up reasonable priced at a hardware/depo/etc. type place. They come in different configurations ... WaterWorker HT-4B Water Worker Vertical Pre-Charged Well Tank, 4 Gal, 3/4 in Mnpt, 100 Psi
Woot woot, woot woot you got a double from me, but you had to go and jinx yourself didn’t you lol, Jay you did a fantastic job and Jen is going to be so happy l can’t wait to see her face, Google may have the solution for removing that crimp, surely there’s a way for it, enjoy your HOT water guys, and finally how the heck do you cope with the bugs l could hear them on the camera mike buzzing around, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Da musst du aber was für den Winter machen sonst der Frost bricht dir deine Anlage kaputt ,das wehre schade weil du dir wirklich gute Arbeit gemacht hast .
I was lost on most of this video with how you set things up for the hot water, so i am glad you know what your doing...ha. My question was pipes freezing in your cold winter, how do you manage that and will the water heater withstand your winter temps. or will you even run your water system in the winter? Congrats on the hot water.
Nice upgrade to the cabin, do you have plans to add a larger tank? I'm looking to add to our water storage but cant decide on another IBC tote or a 500 gallon water tank $$$ . See you on the next video.
Is there water on this hillside if ya drill a well.?? I have forgotten if ya told me. I look at everything as a journey of progress.... lucky tonight big guy
If you Amazon search dupont water filter canister they should pop up fairly easily. If you want to help us out, clicking the Amazon link in the description box will throw us a penny or two. I can find the exact link if you need me to, thankd
You’re a good man, Jay! I know you don’t need another job but what about another piece of backsplash on the wall side of the sink in case of splashes? And don’t forget my copper shower rod!😜And if you want to say something about me leaving you alone while you’re trying to get the water going that’s okay!🤬
That is not a bad idea, maybe I can hook up a back up system for the winter like that. The main reason it is not set up there is because those pumps don't pull water up so the tank has to be above the pump and also the noise. Where it is located now it can barely be heard, but under that sink it would be very loud and disruptive
@@OffgridwithJayandJen search for pex crimp ring removal tool my crimp kit had one. Looks like a mini wood spliter at the end of a plier. You might not be able to re-use the pex but, thats cheap. the cost with pex is in fittings.....
The surging is just AIR IN THE LINES it will stop after a few minutes Jay. Are you labeling or writing on the plastic hosing where each one is going??? The water will clear up must have gotten some dirt in the lines somehow. What if Jen is at the cabin by herself and something happens and you are miles away she should be able to tell you which line it is right??? GREAT JOB Jay!!! God Bless
Well I got to say one thing you kind of know what you're doing but those water lines bro you got a really fix those those look like crap underneath there it's not good but at least you got water this time try to get it fixed up you got a little leak so just let you know
Why not use foam installation around your pikes before you get into the cold season instead of letting your pipes bus it wouldn't take you hour-and-a-half with those that foam installation around the pipes don't let your hard work go down the drain man with that water
Ya, we will be insulating everything good this summer....I have to skirt the cabin as well, so lots of crawling around to do all that work. Best wishes
Hot H2O? That is amazing! Water is Life & hot water is Heaven! Great job Jay! Can’t wait to see Jen’s face❤!🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s

You did great Jay!👏👏
That’s awesome progress! Will make your visits there that much more comfortable.
Thanks my friend.....but this is not a place we "visit" we spend a majority of our time here. We Visit downstate. 😊 this water is very important.
Congratulations!! What an accomplishment you did it!!!
Thanks Kim...really appreciate it

Hot running water wahoo, enjoy the shower guys xxx
Oh ya
Gratuliere
If you use a mixer, then 120-125 degrees is what I use for my tankless.
Nice 👍

Yes....happy about that
I turned the ball game off just to see this. Great accomplishment.
Hey....I'm feeling really special. Appreciate ya my friend. Hope you didn't miss anything too exciting. 😉
I knew you'd have better luck than me 😉
😊👍
Great job!
Pretty exciting! Nothing like hot water.
Just remember, for every trap in the line, a drain should be added for freeze protection.
Those RV pumps have a built in check valve to prevent back flow of water…
You will need to install a drain at the pump discharge. Good luck 👍🍀
Thanks my friend
It’s a carbon filter that’s why it was so black at first great job like your shirt says woot woot here from Ontario Canada ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦😎
Awesome job Jay!!!

red plex should work, that sounds good

Fantastic!! Its surging to remove air out of the lines (my motorhome) RV does it every time we put water into the van. Hope that helps ❤

Good point
Yes and it’s very aggravating when that thing goes on/off every five min. Pressuring up the system.
That is awesome,!

Yes sir

Why didn't you put the heater in the house? 😮
It's built for outside and wasn't much room for it in the tiny bathroom
