    Thank you for doing this pattern in English, I saw this format in a foreign toung, since I am not a proficient knitter I made it in crochet. Trial and error, it came out just as beautiful, eventually. I will treasure your English version always. Blue was the color of the cowl/wrap in this format. It made my eyes light up in anticipation of recreating it in crochet. That was the first time that I ever wanted to do something like that, meaning convert a pattern from knitting to crochet.

    I've had a beautiful dark green tonal bulky (#5) yarn given to me at Christmas that was just begging for a project and this is it. I had everything I needed, and I've cast on today. Thank you! P.S. Your 'bunny from a square' pattern is a staple of mine and is still received very well after I discovered it two years ago. One recent recipient tried to eat the pom pom tail!

    You've got a bit of a copy paste error in the parallelogram section of the pattern. There's not enough cast-ons to just k6,p6/p6k6 for all three rows of those blocks, row 7 you need to p6,k6 and on row 15 k6,p6 or else you're gonna end up with a garter stitch rows down the middle of the pattern.

    Hello, I'm struggling at the part where you put the strands back on the needle and knit the parallelogram pattern. Are you starting with a row of garter? If so then you start the pattern on the wrong side rather than the front. Or do you do two rows of garter first, or go straight into the parallelogram pattern. If the latter then I'm finding it really hard to knit it and deal with the loose ends.

    Love this pattern and want to make it for my wife. Was wanting to use a smaller yarn, DK, maybe so that she can wear it during the spring. Is there a way to figure out how many more cast on I would need to do and how many more rows? Any help or advice would be appreciated :)

    • @NivQ87
      @NivQ87 4 роки тому

      idk how much smaller yarn you want, if you add 12 you'll still have the odd number for the same braid pattern. i'd rec making some temp swatches of the parallelogram part and see if that'll be wide enough for your purposes. just do enough to see what the width will be, and then frog the whole thing and start in earnest once you've figured out your cast on/needle size.

      you go back to row one on the parallelogram pattern, the bit of text after the rows mentions sizing, if you want to make a small, you do the whole 16 rows 5 times, or a medium, do it 6 times. maybe use a bit of scrap yarn to mark those spots so you don't forget how many you've done. after you've done that enough times, then you can go to section 4 and make the other half of the braiding section.

      I just do it like when your yarn ball is running low, hold a tail in whichever hand you knit from (I guess your right if you do it english? I do continental so my left personally) and then just start doing the knits. keep a solid hold on it for the first few rows so it doesn't get loose, by the time you're hitting row 4 the rest of your work will basically hold it in place for you. then just take the tapestry needle to blend them in like a regular tail when you feel like doing that clean up work.
