I really like the way you do the first "knit one with yarn in front" by just slipping your needle underneath. It looks very natural
Thank you for this lovely pattern.
Thank you for knitting the way I was taught. So many people knit the other way. I get sooo confused. I love this pattern. 😊
You're so welcome! I'm glad to hear the way I knit is familiar to you-it's always nice to find patterns that match our style! 😊 I'm happy you love the pattern, and I hope you enjoy knitting it! Thanks for watching!
I’m so glad I found you! Thank you for the great tutorials.
Thank you for the kind words! 😍
Just downloaded the pattern and watching along. It is very easy to follow. I am using a worsted weight, but thinking it would also be lovely in a fingering yarn with some extra pattern sections of course. Have a lovely day!!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the pattern :)
The music was fine
Bello!!! Gracias!!! Agradezco la opción de subtítulos 😘🇲🇽🌷
Thank you. I'm working on this now 😊
I hope you enjoy the pattern :)
Thanks for the tutorials, Please can you do the video of the finishing thanks
👍🇮🇳
Do you have the written pattern. I would really like to make it
Hello, yes, the links to the written pattern are in the description.
I’m new to knitting I was wondering if this can be done on straight needles rather then circular needles
Hello! Yes, the shawl can be done on straight needles; the shawl is worked back and forth on the needles - knit flat. I personally use circular needles because the longer cable provides extra space, making it easier to manage the larger number of stitches. Happy Knitting!
❤❤❤❤
I’m so ☹️ bummed out.. my knitting is not even snd has large vertical rows to wide even though I try my hardest to keep tension even.. is it ok
i can't find the free version?
Hello, you can check out the free pattern here - www.handylittleme.com/how-to-knit-a-shawl-for-beginners-step-by-step/
Buona sera potrei avere lo schema di questo baktus. Grazie
Hello, the link to the instructions is in the description. Happy knitting!

What’s the point in slipping the first stitch with the yarn in front? What does yarning over do when you just move it to the back after? I’m trying to understand why
Hi there!
Great questions! Slipping the first stitch with the yarn in front and then moving it to the back serves a few purposes, especially for beginners knitting a shawl.
Neat Edges: Slipping the first stitch with the yarn in front creates a tidy, clean edge that’s more uniform and less bulky. This method helps the edges lay flat and gives the shawl a polished look.
Yarn Over’s Role: The yarn over isn't added as an extra stitch in this case; instead, it's simply a way of positioning the yarn correctly for the next stitch. After you slip the stitch with the yarn in front, moving the yarn to the back preps you for knitting without adding a loop. This creates a decorative stripe to break up the garter stitch rows.
If you’re looking for more details, the full post (link in description) explains this step in the context of shawl knitting for a smoother finish!
Happy knitting, and I hope this helps clarify!
Hello there am new to your tutorials. Could you please repeat verbally going through the rows of the pattern for at least the first say 4 rounds. For those of us who need a little extra help. Thanks
Hello! Thank you so much for watching my tutorials and for your feedback! While I won't be repeating the rows verbally, I recommend watching the video again at a slower speed. You can adjust the playback speed in the video settings, which might make it easier to follow along. I hope this helps, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!
Love this pattern 🙌🧶
Do you have a written PDF?
Hello, yes, you can see that here - shop.handylittleme.com/collections/muses/products/the-terpsichore-shawl-knitting-pattern
Love the pattern. Thank you for the tutorial.
Where did you buy your needles?
Thank you, the needles are from Knit Pro (Zing) in the US - Knitter's Pride.
I, love this pattern, but when you make the second yarn over pattern bit, at 30 rows then when going further should they be spaced out more as the stitches get wider. Hooe this makes sense.
Hello, no, there are the same number of rows between the yarn over the stripes.
@@handylittleme hello, thank you for your reply, now I've knitted a lot more and laid it out to see how it was coming along , I realised how the knitting was going. Thanks again.
@@angelareed1407 OK great, sometimes you just need to try it to see how it goes. I hope you will enjoy the rest of the pattern :)
Olá, sou do Brasil e aqui não usamos essas letras para nomear as diminuições e aumentos. Você pode indicar um glossário que indique como se faz? Obrigada! Seu trabalho é realmente bonito❤❤
@@linaoliveira462 Hello, you can see a complete guide of abbreviations and terms here - www.handylittleme.com/knitting-abbreviations/
Beautiful. May I ask what knitting needles you are using?
Hello, I use interchangeable circulars (24") Knit Pro Zing in the video. In the US, they are known as Knitter's Pride. I hope that helps!
@@handylittleme Thank you so much for your reply. I shall have a look to find them. I have interchangeable too, but mine come undone, so I am looking for something better.
how many skeins of yard did you use
Hello, you can see that information in the description info of the pattern here - shop.handylittleme.com/collections/muses/products/the-terpsichore-shawl-knitting-pattern
Hi! I tried making this shawl (been remaking it a few times actually) but it would always somehow crumple and just make this little blob in between the knit 2s
And just wanted to ask do we knit 2 together in 30? Or 40? I hope this can get answered😢 I'm so excited for this pattern and I'm quite sad I can't get it right
Hello, you can see close-up photos of the shawl here to see if it looks the same - shop.handylittleme.com/collections/muses/products/the-terpsichore-shawl-knitting-pattern

Can I make this in medium worsted yarn?
Hello, you could - but you may have to adjust the size to add an extra section or two of the garter stripes to make sure the length is long enough.
To increas how many syiches and one has to decrease too how to do that kindly do tell how to do it.
You are decreasing when you are knitting 2 together.
Found it 😜
Sorry, I was late to reply! The link is in the description and in your previous comment reply. :)

While it says the pattern is free in the description it appears there is a $6 charge. Was anyone else charged?

The shawl looks like starting 3 stitch cast on and blinds off 3 stitches. So, need to start decrease somewhere, not only increase. It should be nice to show the whole pattern.
Nope, no decreasing. That’s just what the shawl looks like at that angle.
Your music is too loud and annoying! I can’t hear you talking ! So are we watching you knitting and listen to music, yeah great tutorial
