      Glad it was helpful! And yes, their is conflicting information on their website, in their portals. That's why I do recommend just at least having a review with a professional who does a lot of them, as they understand based on experience.
      Just keep in mind that to get an open work permit, with spouse on PGWP, because PGWP is not closed, you must show that the PGWP holder is working (paystubs etc).

    Thank you for the excellent video, Steven. I got nomination certificate from Ontario. To extend my work permit I need to apply for T13 LMIA exemption.
    Have you been told by an Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada? This should be YES in my case, correct?
    Also, in my case all these steps are same except I need to select Provincial Nomination work holder, correct?
    I will appreciate your response!!

    Thank you for the clear and detailed explanation. I have one quick question, in the 5710 when they ask for a "national identity document" do they mean a Canadian one? like BC ID or the one from my country? also, at the beginning, would changing from "LMIA exempt application" to "International agreement application" not change anything? cause I see the invitation letter as a requirement too, I'm applying within Canada NOC 42201 charitable work LMIA exempt. Thank you in advance.

    • @sjpimmigration
      @sjpimmigration  2 місяці тому +1

      No! They mean from your home country, and BC ID is a provincially issued document, not federally (national). It appears one selection requests an invitation letter. This is probably because some international agreements require one. It appears to be a bug in the system and I don't believe the charitable work exemption C51 requires an invitation letter. www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/exemption-codes/canadian-interests-charitable-religious-work-r205-exemption-code-c50.html

      I believe they are active for 2 months to be matched with a work permit, but I cannot confirm where I recall seeing this. It's good practice anyways to submit within 60 days, and I haven't had an issue ever keeping it within those 60 days.

      It means national ID from your home country if you have one. Drivers license is not a national ID, it’s provincial, so yes, it would be a Mexican national ID, or any other country if you have.

    • @sjpimmigration
      @sjpimmigration  Місяць тому

      You may answer yes, and it may then try to send you to the sequence to apply for an open work permit (bridging or similar). This eligibility questionnaire should be taken lightly. If you are trying to get to the closed work permit LMIA exempt work permit application, you don’t want to go down the open work permit route (your document checklist will be incorrect).

    Thanks for the info! I have a question, when I found a job offer in JobBank with the specification “this employer has an LMIA” or “this employer have applied for LMIA”, means that job offer has already a worker chosen? And there is no option for me to apply? I understand the LMIA is for a particular person right? So looking for employers with LMIA is not a good way for me to look for a job!!! Thanks a lot!

    • @sjpimmigration
      @sjpimmigration  2 місяці тому +1

      It means employer has applied or has indicated to JobBank they are applying for an LMIA. There is a good chance the employer may have already found a worker, however, there are some LMIAs that can be applied for without the foreign workers names. These are common with low-wage LMIAs with multiple positions ie. 10 housekeepers. They may not have found all the housekeepers yet, but know that their company will need to hire 10, and that's what application they are making. Once the LMIA is approved, the employer can add names to the LMIA after recruiting the workers by calling or emailing Service Canada.

    • @sjpimmigration
      @sjpimmigration  2 місяці тому +1

      Usually if there are multiple vacancies indicated on the Job Ad, there's a greater chance they don't have all the workers lined up, rather than a job ad for 1 specific role and vacancy in a company.

      @@sjpimmigration Oh thanks for the explanation. This is something that has not been explained before! There are different immigration officers and even "youtubers" but nobody has explained this before. I came across that for common sense!! So if I found a job offer for a company looking just one person and already has the LMIA it is almost sure that position has a "name" on it! Thanks a lot!

      Yes you can. The benefit of getting your employer to submit this offer and applying for a closed work permit, would enable you more time and also qualify you for 50 pts if the work is skilled, the closed work permit is approved, and you've been working for that employer for over 1 year.

    Hello, thank you very much for the information. I have a question and I'm not sure if you can please help me solve it. In the case of someone applying for a temporary work visa from outside of Canada through an LMAI exception with an NOC 41200. Specifically regarding the question: "Will you be coming to Canada under an active public policy or special measure announced by IRCC?" It is necessary to respond Yes or No. I ask you this because I believe I have seen that this NOC belongs to a program called the International Mobility Program and I would like to clarify that doubt. Thank you very much for your valuable assistance.

    • @sjpimmigration
      @sjpimmigration  2 місяці тому +1

      As I've shown, this eligibility checker is just to get you to the type of work permit you can apply for (open, closed). If you qualify under a public policy as indicated and select yes, you will get the option to apply for an open work permit. If you also select written job offer, yes, you will get the option for a closed work permit as well. You choose the option that best describes the type of work permit you need to apply for and which stream. The International Mobility Program is how the majority of Canada's work permits are coded (LMIA exemptions, spousal open work permit, PGWP etc). The other program is the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (LMIA required). This video references the LMIA-exemption under the Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement, which falls under the IMP. If you have PNP from NS, you want to apply for a T13 exemption (probably). I don’t have the specific details of your file, but that’s not an international agreement, it’s an LMIa exemption.
