Thank you for this comparison. Many crocheters are really hesitant about changing anything at all about a pattern, so this hopefully helps them. Me, I just do it. Trial and error until it works for me.
Dear fellow crocheters (and knitters): Don‘t be afraid to make mistakes. Is it annoying or frustrating to unravel a failed experiment? Heck yeah. But I have frogged so many of my projects that made me unhappy that I grew thicker skin about it. It still hurts to destroy hours of work, but you will feel relieved after it‘s over. Promise. The projects I made with the reclaimed yarn were just sooo much more satisfying and I am happy that I did it. =)
Thank you for your advice. I totally agree. It’s worth doing it until you are happy with your work. I have found that I enjoyed the process of crocheting and don’t mind frogging things out like I use too.
This is so true. I don’t mind frogging at all if it helps me get it right.
I am making it a habit of reviewing every row I do.
I have made this poncho about 8 times and almost every time that I get lazy and dont put stitch markers in the corners, I mess it up and have to usually tear out 2 rows. So now I never do this without a marker. Even if it takes going to another room o get them!
Try this in Lions brand 24/7 cotton. It may seem a bit “cordy” but it works up nice for a summer poncho.

Ooops!! The Shawl in a Ball Yarn is Medium 4 Weight yarn. It is a thin 4 weight yarn.
If you could have heard me, I was quietly whispering in your ear, '4 weight, Pamela, 4 weight.' 😆 It could pass as a lighter weight, though, for sure.

I also just did this poncho and I agree to put a marker at the corners because you get so wrapped up on the double and chain 3 that you go past the corner😂 love the purple one! Very pretty as is all of them

I knew I loved that poncho, I am still a beginner and I don't quite understand how to do things in the round, c2c, or granny squares! My eyes seem to cross! Lol I do love B.O.D. I have made 3. Kept one for myself. Thank you for telling us how you rounded the bottom. I have shawl in the ball and will definitely make more of these. I too don't like wearing coats/jackets.

That's one tutorial I used, I'm a total free hand crocheter and rarely follow tutorials, but that mint pancho is so beautiful. I need to make more of them, I'll be like you soon.

I love this pattern too. Ive been thinking about making it in a #3 cotton. It would look good in the Premier Hipster too. I'm always challenged when it comes to changing weights of yarn because I don't want to restart over and over playing with it. Ponchos are much more forgiving. Thank you for this video.
