Thank you for your wonderful work, Zoe.
I loved your research and
this series.
Please i need to know more about the using color palette of Art déco 🌼🌼🌼
I hope you continue this series. So well researched, comprehensive, informative, and accessible.
Please continue this series! I am learning a lot with it!
Do continue the series! So much of this just looks "today." When did current fashions really start? Decades ago, I think.
Yes, I mentioned this on instagram the other day, how the 30s looks are coming back. Things definitely look modern for right now.
Yes, yes please continue. Stellar job on the content AND presentation!!! 50-60s, then 70s to ,my fav, 80s.
@@zoehongteaches my mom used to say everything cycles in about 30 years.
Love the 30s fashion. Everyone loves the 50s but I fell in love with this era when I did a paper for my Intro to Fashion class. I especially love the escapism that Hollywood films and fashion brought to the era.
I love the fashion history videos ESSPECIALLY. I have a casual interest in fashion and I particularly love learning about fashion through the ages. Definitely keep the history videos coming
When I first found your channel, my goal was simply to learn to draw a basic pattern. I've since consumed massive amounts of information on not just patternmaking but how to construct the piece, where the roots of my inspirations come from, etc.. I absolutely love this series and your channel! Thank you for uploading (and for including resources, as well)!
I'm so glad you find my channel so helpful! Good luck with your work!
I know right! I feel so blessed to have found this channel. Zoe, thank you for sharing your knowledge and making this space for learners.
@@zoehongteaches hello i also want to be a fashion designer i am a high school student currently can u tell me how to prepare for studying fashion?
You're welcome!
I have videos on that in my Fashion School playlist.
I would love to see more fashion videos based on the 20's, 30's & 40's.
Really enjoyed this. I’ve been watching lots of old films and loving the fashion. Surprised by some of the really risqué clothing styles at that time.
Excellent! Please continue the series.
Please, the way you explain fashion as a "continuum" is excellent and remarkable.
Besides your pronunciation of the English language is remarkably clear and perfect as a natural drop pearl.
It would be an enormous pleasure for us to see how you navigate fashion across time.
You deserve my best applause.
Thank you so much.
One of my favourite designers of the period is Claire McCardell. Her designs were beautiful and practical. ❤
I love how well researched and informative these videos are! Hope you continue with this series
Thanks!
Love this series! Please do go on I’d love to know more about the 40’s. Thanks!!

I first stumbled upon your channel because of your 1920s fashion history post. I love how you draw a timeline and add the historical events for reference. Please continue with more of your history of fashion series! They are the best! 🥰
Hi Zoe! I'm watching this 2 years after you posted, but please continue the series! Your summaries are wonderful!!!
If I could “Like” this more than once I totally would😍 thank you for this updated refresher on the 30’s!!
Yes continue. Every bit of your presentation of fashion history has the most beautiful items. I loved it all and especially loved the shoes and accessories!!!!! I think you are the only one who presents with the timelines written up. It really helps to wrap my head around it all.
CONTINUE this literally reminds me of 20th century costume from college
Love, love, love this video Ms.Zoe Hong It brought memories of fashion School and History of Fashion class! Interesting point to think that at one point celebrities took place of models in our culture as well. Thank you for loving what you do and beign so pationate and share it with us in this wonderful channel!
I’ve been watching videos from historical costumers and fashion historians a lot recently, and it’s so cool and interesting how you all cover fashion history in different ways! You talk about it from more of a business sense and what influenced big trends, while they (especially costumers) talk more about how construction techniques changed and how fashionable silhouettes were achieved. Of course there’s some overlap, but I just think it’s really cool and interesting!
Yes !I can;t wait to see your presentation on the fashion histories of the 70s and 90s. Please.
I'd love to see this for the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Great job
FANTASTIC, Zoe! I loved your research, the quick paced video, the creativity that flowed throughout. Most of all, I enjoyed your speaking voice. NO "uhs, ums, you knows". Really GREAT to hear a good speaker organize an interesting topic. LOVE IT! More, please.
The books are amazing. This is my favorite era for clothes, and grew up watching these movies at a retro theater in the 1970's. All the movies from the 1930's, and 1940's. What a blessing.
please please please continue this series. I learn a lot from your video
In the 1990s fashion history was required at LATTC. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This series brings back that love of fashion and design from that era. Those movies from that time, The Marx Brothers and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers are some of my favorites for viewing fashion and creating my versions of those designs. Thank You, I will be watching!
I love your intricate timeline, plus your scholarship is so fascinating and well done - all the pictures and your knowledge, I'm looking forward to viewing all your videos.
Fashion and sewing is a newfound passion of mine. But I don't always have the time to go scrolling through the internet or going down the Pinterest rabbit hole. These videos are fantastic, Zoe. You are so fluid and succinct in your descriptions and tying history to fashion trends. Please continue your videos and educating all of us. Thanks! p.s. I would love to see what materials were used for these decade fashions as well, or how history influenced what was being used..
Watched this again and love it. Need more these days.
Excellent presentation! Please do continue the series.

The shoes and bags are gorgeous.
Yes more history video please
Please continue the history!
Very informative and visually interesting. Good job! I was hoping you would cover all fashion aspects of the 1930s including Art Deco modernism art effects on fashion, textile patterns and streamlined looks, platform shoes and other new shoe designs, the popularity of matching shoes, handbag and hat ensembles, the dominant styles of hats/millinery during this period with the 1920s cloche transitioning into bowler and cap styles, the introduction by Chanel and others of lace textiles resurfacing in the late 1930s with full lace gowns in modern slim forms, and the prominence of statement jewelry that became a style of fashion itself from art deco diamond and sapphire, onyx, jade and other precious stones to using large bold semi precious gems as aquamarines, amethysts, citrine, tourmaline, spinels and others and of course the precious stones of ruby and emerald. There is also with millinery gloves - gloves were as important as any accessory including hats. Gloves continued into the 1960s and included in the 1930s various styles and lengths. And last cosmetics - the period introduced makeup as glamorous and part of the fashion look. Lipstick became essential as did powder. The cases that carried cosmetics, the compact and lipstick cases were treated as jewelry themselves since they adorned women at cocktail parties and dates and affairs. Flato, Josef Hoffman, Verdura and many others introduced glamorous modern designs for jewelry and compact/lipsticks as well as cigarette holders and cases. All essential elements to complete the fashion look. Thanks for adding Ray Ban sunglasses. Last the one piece bathing suit became a huge fashion statement being minimalized and glamorized through the collaboration of Hollywood and Seventh Avenue companies as well as California brands including Jantzen and Catalina wear to promote Hollywood stars in form fitting swimwear in movies and promotional photography.

You keep making Fashion History videos, I'll keep watching. 😀👍 I enjoy them so much. After the first one old videos and photos from the late 19th century onward started being suggested by UA-cam. All of it's really cool and interesting. Guy Jones is great for the videos. Yesterday Today is great for the old photos.
Great video. One of my favorite eras in fashion. You have to have a slim figure to pull-off most of these looks.
I really enjoy your videos. They are extremely informative and interesting! Thank you!
The 1930s is my favourite fashion era, but I had no idea how many designers I was missing out on!
As an author watching this video because I'm writing a historical romance, the timeline section is incredibly helpful for deciding what year my book takes place. Thank you. :)
my fashion history class stopped after the victorian era. thank you so much for your "little" history lessons :)
I LOVE this! Please continue the series! Thank you for your wonderful work!
I’m working on a little 1930s period illustration right now, and this has helped so much with character design! I really love these videos, thanks
