    I’m already working on a Leopard in Afghanistan, great video.

    Around 27:00, I saw 2 HMMWVs plus a door in the background. You should paint a door tan and at least a wheel tan on the M997 Ambulance. The number of US vehicles I've seen (and drove) that have had mismatched camouflage is astonishing.

      I agree. Those are repaints for my dad. He wanted them green. But ya. It's crazy how much mismatching goes on. Unless it's tan it's always got somthing.

      @Ricks135scalemodels When I was stationed at Fort Bliss with 2-43 ADA we had a "spare parts" M983A2 HEMTT that had a tan door, left rear light, front armor, top and left side engine cover, the self recovery winch, fuel tank and 3 wheels. 1 wheel was black. The other 4 of the wheels were OD green except the spare, which was brown. The original vehicle, before cannibalisation, was NATO 3 with 9 green wheels.

      @thejoseph9064 love it.. a Frankenstein.. you see that a lot in US. I see lots of convoys going up and down the freeway add there's always a couple mix match. I'm going to donan abrams in NATO colors but I plan to have a couple sideskirt parts and a road wheel or 2 in tan.

      @@Ricks135scalemodels that's how it's done.

    Wow just wow!! I've often wondered how I'd do this. I have the Perfect Scale resin kit but both the turret and upper hull are twisted so badly that the project has been relegated to the shelf of doom. Thanks for this video, I may just try this.

    • @Ricks135scalemodels
      @Ricks135scalemodels  9 місяців тому +1

      This is another way to do it. On that resin stuff. If you put it in hot water (not to hot), it will make it bend a little. You then can correct the curve and when it tools it will be correct.

      @@Ricks135scalemodels Yeah I read that but haven't tried it. I am currently working on my second CDN Hobby boss Leo. I also have the black dog conversion for the 6m. Which I may try. Kind of on an all-CDN kit kick these days. Next is Andys 1/16 Korean Sherman with Canadian markings.

      @maximcan69 nice!! As I get older, the 1/16 look more appealing... vision and all🤣

    What a fantastic technique Rick. Thank you very much for sharing this. The technique is so obviuosly modifiable ( is that a word?) for any vehicle using thermal blankets- its given me a few ideas for future builds.

    would this method also work on the camo netting for the Challenger TES?

      @Ricks135scalemodels  9 місяців тому

      Yes its the same thing. Atleast from what I've seen. Either way you could make it work perfect.
