As an recent owner of a 2022 2SS 1LE, I don't agree with these guys about the looks of the car. I personally really love the way the car looks, both inside and out, and I don't have any issues with the car's ergonomics. One thing I do have to mention, you most definitely can customize the drive modes. I have the car set up to have the track exhaust in every mode, the steering in sport setting for every mode, and the magnetic ride set to go with the mode it's in (which is the default).
I went regular 2ss.. almost ordered a 1le.. I’m going to order one new again before they’re gone after i close on a house. Those 1le wheels are hands down the best chevy had made
@@twobullz3400 Good choice with the 2SS. I hope you don't mean trade it for a new 1LE. All you have to do is swap to 1LE replica wheels. It's a direct fit to the SS with no modifications at all. Same exact specs as factory 1LE. You won't have the suspension of the 1LE, and you won't need the brakes. Those two items are very nice to have, but unless your pushing the car to its limits on the track, the regular SS suspension and brakes are more than adequate. The main thing is the wheels, which will give you an immediate noticeable performance change. Wrap your hood and swap the spoiler for good measure if you like.
It’s a GOAT car. I will never forget seeing the 2015 Z28 in the show room and it’s pretty cool but, it’s completely impractical for a daily driver Currently I drive a 15 RS fifth generation I’m going to trade it for an SS fifth generation
Those crackles and pops are nice but there are times I wouldn’t mind being able to keep the exhaust in sport mode but disable them or reduce them. It can get slightly repetitive hearing it after every lift.

Yes I think the front looks very good. The two 'fang' parts are the most debatable part, but overall the impression, the vibe it gives off is great. And yes, the 6gen 1LE wheels are the best wheels GM has made for this vehicle. They are massively better than the ZL1 models which have rims that look too luxury and delicate.
As a current ZL1 owner, former SS 1LE owner, former GT350 and hellcat owner, current Hoochie Daddy, the SS 1LE gives an awesome driving experience. The ZL1 gives a similar experience (faster) but it is heavier and 20k more. The GT350 is a close match (95% same experience) but the SS 1LE is more reliable and better value (more features). The SS 1LE can be enjoyed a lot more than the others

This is the first video that I don't agree with you. I understand that the design is not for everyone, but performance wise its absolutely insane keeping in mind that it hasn't changed since 2016 when it launched. This absolutely walks circles around any Challenger or a Mustang GT PP2 or GT350. Biggest mistake I ever did was selling my 2018 SS 1LE in Hyper Blue
Totally agree. Nothing comes close especially for track use. Best track car/DD I’ve ever owned and honestly think I may ever own. Owned mine for over 2 years and hated selling it…tried to make the car seat work in the back when the baby came along but that only last so long. Mercedes GLC63 SUV took its place. @@neverendingmods truer words my friend! At least it’s got a V8 but it is notttt the same. I am fortunate to still have some cars to track but the 1LE was truly the perfect combination.
World renowned race car driver Randy Pobst says the 6th gen Camaro is the best chassis you can buy up to the $100k mark. So much so that he bought his own.
This car is the best of the three. I’d rock that set up 1LE daily in a heartbeat. Normally you guys are great with the commentary, but jeez so much crying on this one.
@@Welcometofacsistube The 1LE is a legitimate world class sports car. A BMW M4 but better and 30k less. The Challenger is a muscle car with a mediocre chassis. If you value driving dynamics the 1LE is the obvious choice. If all you care about is doing highway pulls with your buddy like most "enthusiasts" now a day the challenger is it.
@@jjchockey So you're saying the Challenger is more usable everyday because you're never taking street corners at 75 miles an hour... Got it... Yeah, don't care about track cars, as I don't drive on a track. I drive on the street where the only racing is from around 30-90 in a straight line... I agree with Hal. The looks and gravitas of the Challenger blows away both the Camaro and the Mustang... They do not draw the attention or compliments that a W/B Scat/Hellcat Challenger will. Period. There's no argument to be had.
I'm surprised at their comments. I think Camaros finally look good again. Also them shrugging off the sound as just ok. I'm not a big Camaro guy but I think they knocked it out of the park here
I love this camaro! I think these guys already had their minds made up before the review. Great way to lose viewers guys 👎🏻. These guys obviously dont understand why chevy would give different options with the same 6.2L motor. Because with a little extra money you can easily squeeze an extra 500-1000+ hp out of this monster unlike Fords and Dodges.
As a Camaro owner, yes the windows are pretty small but after a while you get used to it. After a week of owning my Camaro I gotten used to having a small windshield and windows. Yes I wish they were a little bigger but not a deal breaker. I just kept rolling my eyes when Jakub was complaining about that
It’s a sports car, stupid complaint lol, I don’t see anyone complaining in a supra. I think because of it’s size people think it should be a 3 series visibility or something.
@@StirlingMossDrives yes exactly! This isn’t a family sedan it’s a sports car. It’s gotten so old that people complain about it’s visibility that unfortunately that’s it’s stigma now.

Whenever I drive anything else I feel like im sitting on a stool in a bubble. Pople who complain about that havent really spent much time with the car. Im 6'2 as well and have plenty of room. Love it
I’m so glad I own this car, this car is impeccable. One of the best cars to own if you can get your hands on one. And this color is phenomenal. What this car can achieve for being out for 6 years and it took Ford to build a Mach 1 to catch up says something about it
I’ve put 10k miles on my 22 SS 1LE already this year. Best car I’ve ever owned. And it’s amazing on the track. I’ll be driving a few hours to Road America this weekend. Other than a track alignment and better brake fluid, you can drive this thing right out on track and just let it eat. So much fun.
The amount of complaints out of you two on this car was ridiculous. I've driven new Mustangs and Camaros and most of your beefs are petty and sometimes not even fair. I knew you guys weren't going to be giving a honest review when you trashed the 1LE rims. In person they have aggressive angles and are gorgeous. Not to mention they are forged.
Having owned all 3 current gen muscle cars, the Camaro blows the Mustang and Scat Packs away in EVERY category and it’s not even close. Not sure how you guys were this far off base, but oh well. No low end torque and ugly wheels? Genuinely bewildered how you came to that conclusion, especially given the context of this cars category and price…Porsche GT4 performance for half the cost.
Lol. What? I really don't understand the "I bought x vehicle, y and z are trash" mindset. I mean, the Camaro is my preference as well, but it certainly does not blow away it's competitors in EVERY category. Sales figures are proof of that.
Actually the only place it beats the others is on a road course. The scat pack is much better for mostly a daily driver and is quicker if you get the 1320 package. I've owned several Mustangs and test drove several Camaro's before I purchased my Challenger. To be fair I never did test a Camaro with this package though.
@@Mrbobcat7 I don't want the Camaro to feel like a daily driver. That's the point. Was never intended to be. The Scat pack is a fast daily driver car. There is market for that, for sure.
Just purchased a 22 2SS 1LE, and performance wise its one of the best cars I've ever owned, second only to my 19 ZL1 1LE. Perfect transmission and shifter, exceptional exhaust note, world class handling, great power and torque, and the milage is impressive when you take into account the power numbers. And she looks pretty sharp in Summit White. Your the first people to say the rims look average, the deep dish look at an angle is beautiful, better rim design than what was on my ZL1 1LE. Not a bad review.
I've had my 2022 2SS 1LE for about 6 months and 3k miles so far and it's been incredible. My only complaints so far have been the 1-4 skip shift and the 12v power placement because my radar detector cable is just dangling there. The visibility hasn't been a problem at all with the tech that's in the car. The small windows have only been a problem when going through a drive thru, having to turn the food sideways to fit isn't ideal. Overall I've had a great time with it so far. Worth every penny!
I literally just drove one on track a couple weeks ago, my friend just bought one and has never owned any sort of sports cars.. so he asked me to show him how to drive it and put it on track. It was awesome, and makes me reconsider buying a Z.
If you will be driving on track there is absolutely no comparison. The 1LE is on a complete different level as far as being a sports car/track car. The Z is way too soft. If I bought one the first thing I would have to do is invest in some quality suspension.
Wow pretty harsh on the Camaro haha. Especially for the insane performance value it delivers. On the track these things are nuts. And the older 90’s Camaro is disgusting. 🤮
They don't know there facts with this car😬 it does have custom settings and it doesn't drift at low rpms not just because it's n/a but it has 305 wide track tires and a e-lsd. It's a gripped up track car not a mess around car.
I agree the '93 up Camaro style is not appealing, although I think the Firebirds made that body style look good. I've owned all generations up to my '92 that I still have.
Yea I usually enjoy hearing these guys input to get a different perspective than a lot of other reviews. But this one just felt like they wanted to hate on the Camaro. Them saying the car didn't have that much low end torque really confused me, but whatever. They just seemed purposely disingenuous about not knowing the custom drive modes or maybe just a poor job reviewing, for not being able to discover that. But then know about double clicking traction control and finding those modes. Plus imo just over exaggerated on the interior. It's not the best but the elbow rest are not even close to hurting my elbows, ever. Jakub might have super delicate glass elbows lol. but seriously it's kind of a stretch.
I used to watch this channel but after this review I can no longer continue to do so. I’ve driven almost every mainstream performance car available in today’s market. Everything from the humble mustang gt to the Porsche gt3 rs. The Camaro is one of my favorites, especially in the 1le configuration. The chassis is solid, the transmission is bulletproof, and the engine makes great power for what it’s built for. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better track car for the money. These are selling for a good price in the used market too. Yeah the visibility isn’t great and the interior isn’t luxurious but it’s there and it all works really well. Manufactures need to design cars to fit several different people and you can’t please everyone. So obviously the Camaro can’t be perfect but it doesn’t deserve this level of hate. As far as the appearance of the car, I think it looks fantastic but that’s just me.
Having experienced a ZL1, you don’t need the 1LE pack. It completely sets the car up to be a track toy. If you wanna enjoy the car on the street then there’s nothing wrong with just slapping on the cosmetics to a standard ZL1
I may have misunderstood you, but this car which was reviewed has the exact same suspension as a regular ZL1. A ZL11 LE is a completely different beast with coil over suspension and harsh ride. Not sure if that’s what you meant or not.
@@TheStraightPipes You reluctantly admitted it was good, but they look on your face was like someone had a vice grip on your left nut making you say it.
I love the wheels on this car, they are my favourite OEM wheels on any car under $100k. Have to agree with interior quality, but if you love driving and aren't rich then this is very hard to complain about
@@roboticvenom1935 I think the whole car is ugly as hell although a great performance car. Looks are subjective and opinion. GM sure knows how to make performance cars.
I’ve had 2 is these … now I have had a 718GT4 for a few months and 4 track days. I question my decision to change constantly. GT4 is great but the SS1LE is a really special thing
perfect solution, find a used 2017-18 SS 1LE and you get the subjectively better front end and some pops and crackles but not nearly as much as 2019+ Camaros. Also stoked to finally see an SS 1LE video from TSP
Remember that Vantage review where you blipped the throttle just to hear the exhaust pops over and over and over and over again, giggling like little girls? Anyways, you can't appreciate this car fully without actually driving it on track. Recommending the ZL1 1LE over this is apples to oranges, both functionally and financially.
@@TheStraightPipes ZL1 1LE is not intended to be a street car. SS 1LE is. Your reply and the bias shown in your reviews confirms my decision to hide your content in my feed.
I've got a 16 2ss non 1le and I love it. It moves so quick and still have the old front end similar to the ZL1. Personally I think the Camaro is the best looking of the main three (Camaro, Challenger, Mustang).
I find it frustrating how so many car reviewers are so dismissive of price. "I would go with the ZL1 1LE over this no question". It's a $20,000+ price difference! And the Mach 1 is $10,000+ more! If you're financially savvy, that kind of delta in price will be the deciding factor for a purchase in the real world. I want the best bang for the buck, and the Camaro continues to be at the top of the list for me.
@@TermlessHGW . You can go over 100-150k easy …. With proper maintainance and no major issues . I owned 3 6th gen camaros combined 60k miles.. only did oil changes and had no issues … This car is very underrated.
Nice review. This is a real sleeper of a car. I like GM’s approach with the alpha chassis of making this a true sports car, and I prefer its more modern looks (ergonomics excepted) to the “throwback” Mustangs and Chargers…too bad that somehow wasn’t the winning formula in the marketplace.
You obviously don't know what a sleeper is. A sleeper is a car that doesn't look like it could be fast. This is a muscle car, the opposite of a sleeper
@@taurussho86 you’re right. Bad choice of words! I meant a yawner…in the sense that it’s overlooked in the marketplace for some reason, even though objectively it shouldn’t be.
Its overlooked because of the looks. The competition and previous generations look much better. Mark my words in 20 years, Camaros from 2021+ will be rare. The 2020s will be even more rare for having the bowtie on the bumper 🤮
You guys bickered a lot more in this episode than most haha. Front end is… I don’t know it’s not as good as like the ‘17-18 but it is better than the ones after that I think. Starting in 19 they kept changing it like every year lol. There’s a reason the ZL1 keeps the best front end though 👍🏼
@@rmartsa They are trolling for hits, nothing more. Those of us that know what a 1LE is are fully aware of its capabilities and value. Just sad that folks listen to uninformed reviewers like these two and make a purchasing decision without any due diligence on their own. I believe this is referred to as sheep mentality.
So a couple things I feel like weren’t hit on. The trunk is HUGE and you can fit a lot in it, it’s just a weird opening. The square start button is the same as the one in the c7 and is never a bother in my experience. The car does feel like it has heft to it while you drive it, but that it manages anything you throw at it well. I think the front end looks pretty mean too.
@@TheStraightPipes - it is, yes. If you go to settings, then “driving mode”, you can independently control the steering feel as well as the exhaust loudness level (so you can reduce the pops in sport mode even). Love your channel guys, good stuff. I love the Camaros and so disagree with a lot of your gripes, but totally hear you also. Nice job!
You can change steering weight, suspension and exhaust all independently. Kinda surprised you guys didn’t know that or dig in far enough to find it. Much easier to spot than the Track “double click” mode. Anyway, I understand some of your gripes with the visibility, backseats, etc. That said, complaints like I don’t know how to read the gas gauge… wtf? Some of your comments made me literally shake my head.
Bro really said he would go catfish Camaro over the 6th gen. Huge L this car is fantastic its quite comprising on the daily driver aspect but as a performance car it's great. The SS face lift is growing on me. Sometimes I what it would've been like had I went with an SS over a Mustang GT but this car is dope
You can do custom mode and I even recommend poping out the fuse controlling the exaust valve so they stay open 100% of the time for even more crackle and better sound in 2-3k range
Seeing Camaro again makes me so happy, that muscule is still cool and it's wild. But sad to hear GM killing it in the near future. I was a big chevy fan a year back, but recently, Gm making some questionable decisions. I'm not fond of electric cars. Making electricity with coal or natural gas isn't very efficient, compared to burning fuel right then and there. Every single conversion into a differen energy state makes it not very good for efficiency.
Blame your politicians/ and the BS climate control caucuses that think this will solve anything…. ESPECIALLY when the mining for those Lithium batteries cause MORE pollution in the atmosphere than carbon emissions from vehicles. Dont even get me started on Cobalt mining and the human rights issues.
To be honest there's kind of been three front end designs on the 6th gen Camaro. This is second best I'd say. To say it looks awful is an opinion not shared by the majority at this point. Though it is definitely aggressive and it looks mean. For some reason people really like rapid blue but this car is meant to be black or red it looks fantastic like that.(edit:he just said he would prefer a catfish Camaro so I don't know why I took stock in his opinion)
I’ve been a mustang guy my whole life but always had a thing for the looks of the 6th gen. I picked up a 21 SS 1LE with the 10 speed and I can say it’s the best car I’ve owned but I would definitely trade it for a ZL1 just the regular one though the ZL1 1LE is not daily friendly with the multimatic suspension.
Most people like the new 2020+ grill just not the 2019s, and almost everyone loves the ss 1le's wheels. A lot of unpopular opinions in this video lol... and no power down low? What!? Weird review, lots of crying over things that other reviewers have liked or things they like in other vehicles.
"No-lift shifts" in the Camaro are awesome- leave the car floored over 5k rpm on upshift and just... Shift with the clutch as normal. Won't bang the rev-limiter. It's even faster and the shifts are smoother.
The only complain that I have about mine is that it's a massive pain in the butt to use drive-up ATMs. Otherwise, this is one of the nicest cars I've ever had in terms of overall package for the price.
I got to ride around Raceway Park of the Midlands in a Z28 years ago. A GT350 had shown up that day (this was in 2016) and both drivers were trying to compete a bit. Absolutely insane machine… it felt glued to the pavement and no matter how hard it was pushed the thing stayed composed.
I usually like your reviews but don’t understand the hate on the Camaro in this review and I own a challenger lol. It’s a track car, those are petty gripes, we won’t be able to buy these cars much longer, they should be savored.
The pre refresh 16-18 Camaro is the sweet spot ZL1 front end just dulled down. Also the Manuals have really long gears that's why it doesnt feel torquey the auto is better in that respect.
The 6th gen camaro was way ahead of the curve. Ss 1le mopped the floor with the Nissan Z on the drag and track Beats imports in its price range and above it too
A little surprised you guys think this car doesn’t have anything down low. Y’all are literally the only ones that think that. I think I know why though. One of you mentioned that you mainly are driving it in track mode. In track mode, the throttle peddle is more linear than sport or touring mode. Sport/touring mode change the throttle mapping to give you a lot more punch down low versus track mode which gives you a much more linear peddle which you will want on the track.
I think you nailed it. These guys didn’t know you could customize steering, suspension and exhaust individually. I’m certain they didn’t understand that track provides different throttle mapping than sport and tour. Now perhaps this is a nuance we should forgive them for. However, if they’re trying to provide a fair and accurate review, they missed the mark.
I think these guys just wanted comments by hating on the styling. Comparing it a Nissan Z, seriously? These boys don't respresent all Canadians. I love the front end look. I also had the 2010 Bumblebee car.
Am i the only one that prefers this front end over the other one in this gen? This front end is the reason why i’m planning on getting the camaro over the mustang.
I have a 2017 2SS 6M. This car is amazing. I even like the interior. Such an amazingly fun car to drive. It had a better feel to me than the Mustang or Challenger. They're all nice cars, but they all serve slightly different people best. Camaro felt the most athletic by far. And those exhaust burbles and cracks never get old. ❤️ To me, the 2019 flowtie is the best look of all the years of this gen. It took some time to grow on me.
Man you guys are missing the mark on this one! •The front end looks mean •The wheels are some of the best factory wheels out there •One of the best sounding NA v8’s
I have a 2022 LT1 and the car's handling is superior to the mustang and the challengers. The six gen Camaro including the 2019 refresh (that flow tie had to go) is the best styling both inside and out. Anyone should drive this car and you will be surprised.
For people saying that either the Camaro, Mustang or Challenger/Charger are better than the other, we must just be happy to own any of them. V8s are disappearing soon and with a manual transmission, they are going to be a unicorn. It does not really matter which brand it is.
The wheels are ok?! I have moist dreams about those 5 spokers. Catfish Camaro over this? No power down low? I feel the opposite. Now the Mustang GT and GT350 have no power down low. This has way more low end punch. Spot on with the ergonomics. They're horrible.
"I don't like the start/stop button" being square. How is that even a complaint? This isn't a car where details matter. It's design flies under the radar and the main focus is the ride/handling characteristics all while having an old school V8 with a manual transmission.
As a Camaro owner yes the windows is small but you get used to it right away the shifter and cup holder problem they had I never had a problem with that and my car is manual and the armrest I never had a problem with it mine is comfortable

And yes, the 6gen 1LE wheels are the best wheels GM has made for this vehicle. They are massively better than the ZL1 models which have rims that look too luxury and delicate.

Not sure how you guys were this far off base, but oh well.
No low end torque and ugly wheels? Genuinely bewildered how you came to that conclusion, especially given the context of this cars category and price…Porsche GT4 performance for half the cost.

I really don't understand the "I bought x vehicle, y and z are trash" mindset. I mean, the Camaro is my preference as well, but it certainly does not blow away it's competitors in EVERY category. Sales figures are proof of that.
Sales is more a result of poor visibility and lack of marketing and competition from the Corvette. Sales does not equal performance.
Actually the only place it beats the others is on a road course. The scat pack is much better for mostly a daily driver and is quicker if you get the 1320 package. Worth every penny!
skip shift is very easy to disable. I agree it's been the bane of GM manuals ever since the 90s.

Is it just a coincidence that this is one of Throttle House's favorite cars? I don't think so.

And those exhaust burbles and cracks never get old. ❤️ To me, the 2019 flowtie is the best look of all the years of this gen. It took some time to grow on me.
I drove a late 2000s Camaro for a little bit. It was fun having to tilt fast food drinks sideways for a split second to get them through the window.
Man you guys are missing the mark on this one!
•The front end looks mean
•The wheels are some of the best factory wheels out there
•One of the best sounding NA v8’s
"I'm Yuri, I'm Jacob with cornbread" Is what the closed caption says. How funny.
New ones are disappearing. Used ones are plentiful
Yuri is addicted to the supercharger whistle 😂😂.
Yes
Finally !!! Lol I’ve waited so long for you guys to do a regular SS review
It's design flies under the radar and the main focus is the ride/handling characteristics all while having an old school V8 with a manual transmission.
they should redesign this with the 60s shape with the grill headlights or round ones
As a Camaro owner yes the windows is small but you get used to it right away the shifter and cup holder problem they had I never had a problem with that and my car is manual and the armrest I never had a problem with it mine is comfortable
