    Ability: Defiant
    Tera Type: Ghost
    EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
    Adamant Nature
    - Rage Fist
    - Bulk Up
    - Taunt
    - Rest
Vitamins: 25 HP Up (or Health Mochi), 25 Iron (or Resist Mochi)
Feathers: 2 Health Feathers, 6 Muscle Feathers, 2 Resist Feathers
    * The last 2 EVs of the 510 total do not affect stats but are included so that the EV diagram in game shows the EVs as maxed
Stats at lvl 100 w/ perfect IVs:
    HP : 424
    Attack: 293
    Defense : 259
    Sp.Def.: 216
    Speed : 216
NPC Advantages: no requirements, but some form of NPC support will make it much easier to tolerate critical hits (which are common due to leaf blade's elevated critical hit ratio and annihilape's typing). gardevoir (life dew), burners (drifblim, arcanine), and paralyzers (bellibolt, umbreon, and dudunsparce) help. sylveon (charm) and intimidators (tauros, staraptor) are somewhat helpful due to taunt.
Strategy: taunt, 3x rage fist, taunt. rest + heal cheer if HP gets low and shell bell isn't healing much yet. after your stats reset, 6x bulk up, rage fist, terastalize, rage fist to victory.
Pros: tera type matches base type, excellent HP and atk stats. good def stat, no weaknesses. taunt prevents sceptile from using dragon dance for 3 turns and can be used while shield is down. bulk up buffs 1 atk stage and 1 def stage. rest heals full HP bar. defiant ability gives +2 atk when sceptile uses breaking swipe, rage fist has base power that increases by 50 each time annihilape gets hit and deals STAB (tera-boosted when terastalized) damage, shell bell heals when attacking proportional to damage dealt.
Cons: mediocre spdef stat. outsped by sceptile, probably cannot survive a critical hit if sceptile is at +6 atk
    Overall Rating: 8/10

I used Tera dragon on a defiant Annihilape to trick Sceptile into using breaking swipe

there's a tradeoff. that approach lowers the chance of critical hit from 1/8 to 1/24. however, a supereffective breaking swipe critical hit does 1.33x the damage as a neutral leaf blade critical hit. this matters for mon that are bulkier than annihilape, which can survive the leaf blade crit but can't survive the breaking swipe crit. however, annihilape can't survive either one, so it may as well just go for the crit likelihood reduction. so your strategy makes sense here, but can be counterproductive for many other species.
