The Pixel 8 Selfie Camera at 4k30/60 did the best, I'm impressed.
Just wish it have video blur as well on the selfie in 4K 30. I love that feature
That has been one my biggest complaints with Pixel phones. Nice to see they've improved!
Audio is not as great as the video tho.
It's better without blurr imo @@LoverOfTech
Well, not really. The iPhone just records linear hdr. This file was uploaded as sdr without tone mapping to youtube, so the highlights are clipped. If it was uploaded as an hdr video you'd see details as bright as your display is capable of displaying.
However, you may prefer sdr to begin with. In that case the pixel does do better.
The real difference accounting for tone mapping or not is that the pixel has pixel shifted color accuracy, clipped down to the display p3 gamut. The iphone uses an algorithm to fake and estimate the colors of the real world. In this way, the pixel footageis more color accurate. However, the iphone footageis more contrast accurate showing more realistic lighting and brightness. The irony is that the iphone dispay is more accurate than the pixel 8. So the iphone will show pixel footage better than a pixel display would show it. The iphone will also stream movies more accurately for home watching.
But the pixel doesn't boost textbrightness in dark modes making it more eye friendly at night, and so therefore arguably better suited for night streaming anyway.
You are indeed a "Lover of Tech". Covered almost everything related to these cameras here in an unbiased way. Respect.
Thank you 😊
what a great comparison! thanks
The oly thing I missed a little bit were landscape photos from a park or with some trees where you can see the different colors better.
Rarely I have seen such a good comparison taking so many things into account.
Well done!
Thanks for supporting 🙏🏿
Uh-oh let's go the pros. Had their time to shine and now it's time for the more affordable options. Let me finish what I'm working on and we're going to dive straight into this video. Same thing on the s23 as with the s23 ultra when you're using the primary sensor, there's like a weird washed out look. I kind of don't like that but you don't have that same washed out or overexposed look on the iPhone and the pixel. But when you switch to the ultra wide it doesn't do that. And when you switch to the telephoto zoom lens it doesn't do that. So I'm not sure if it's a software issue or there's a physical issue with the sensors, but that's a very weird look on the Samsung device! And there it is another super solid comparison video this time. Comparing the more affordable options available right now from three of the major smartphone brands. Really super solid job bro. It ultimately comes down to what you want and what you prefer honestly though I think even with their shortcomings I would even go with the iPhone or the pixel. That being said, in terms of versatility, as long as you can deal with the color shifting and some of the image and lens flaring issues that happens with the Samsung in terms of versatility. It is the best you can just do a lot more with the Samsung device. Especially if you know you're going to be shooting video or photos at certain resolutions. You can do a lot more with the Samsung but you have to keep in mind some of the issues that the Samsung presents and know how to work around them. Keep up the great work bro. Have a good one and I'll catch you in the next one. Oh was I supposed to be dropping 👊 if I made it to the end? Because I do watch these camera comparison videos to the end, but I haven't been dropping fish, bump emojis. Oh well lol😂
Excellent video. Only question I have is: what colour (to your eyes) was your hoodie?
Truly amazing comparison video, in every single way. I'm blown away by the level of detail of every single video and photo option on three phones. Also, switching between audio as you were recording was genius. Thanks for helping me decide how to spend a lot of money on a new phone. Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you for watching 🙏🏿
Thank you so much with the detailed comparison, what i feel after watching your video is that there is not much diff btw the 3, the output can be tweeked according to our taste. Here in India the most affordable out of the 3 is samsung s23, so im keen towards buying a 256gb version, i love the small form factor so dont want to go with the plus model.
Puttin' in the work, nice. I think the Pixel has made the biggest advancement especially in video. I have the S23+ and shutter lag is real. Also colors are really inconsistent. All three are much closer than i expected.
Holy cow, awesome job with this setup!!! great comparisons, very impressed with your testing!
Thanks for watching and supporting 🙏🏿
They all have definitely individual strengths, but I'm really happy that the Pixel line has made some real improvements in their video (especially since i just bought the 8!)
Really great video. One of the most thought I've seen!
Thanks for watching 👏🏿
Ques: Does your pixel overheat or sometimes lag here and there?
(Asking this bcoz I am confused bw s23 and pixel 8)
Ques: Does your pixel overheat or sometimes lag here and there?

Nice coverage. All 3 phones leading the way. I like how pixel 8 has a catalog of software to support their cloud photos . The samsung would pair well with my laptop. ( i like to use the samsung phones with the google and microsoft software.) I know a woman in my city that has started a photography business using Apple phones.
Huge respect for your effort. Amazing comparison and covered everything. Great execution over the tens of videos I watched previously to landing here. Love your philosophy - shoot and review everything side by side. Excellent work!
Thanks man. More to come 👌🏿
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your detailed comparison. I learned something about each camera. Blessings on your day. 👊🏻
Thanks Jeff💪🏿
Quite useful and detailed video. Respect and Love from Peru 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Wow! Perfect comparison. This is how to do it. Thank you! May I ask what your subjective experience is regarding warming and battery drain while recording?
All the battery drain and warming where ok no issues with any of them
Its about time someone made this comparison! Thanks so much! u just earned a subscriber😃btw early
Thanks for the sub🙏🏿🙏🏿
@@LoverOfTech question is the max digital zoom on the pixel 8 only 8x?
@Gabriel-hv1yu yep that is the max zoom for Pixel 8
You put a lot into your review. I appreciate the information!🤜
Thanks for supporting and watching 👏🏿
Hallo das ist ein prima von dir
Ein wirklich sehr guter Vergleich 👍
Very detailing video sir ❤ but please add more information about how fast shutter speed in this 3 camera so that we can understand better
Happy with my regular s23 256 ..had it for 8 months
Excellent video, indeed! Thanks!
Well done on this extremely thoughtful and comprehensive comparison...Fist bump commencing 4,3,2,1 - 🤜
Very informative! Thanks for your job! :)
Thanks
I didn't expect to watch the entire video, but made it all the way through. 🤜
I have to say, this has got to be the most thorough comparison I have seen, you seem to have checked every box and gone through all the modes unbiasedly showing each's strengths and weaknesses.
I notice that the Pixel 8 seems to have a lot of 'drift' when its utilizing stabilization or zoom?
Hopefully this and that night mode focus issue can be ironed out with some updates that since its just been released.
Props sticking through the whole video. In today world of making everything shorter and "microwave" style, as I like say, it's been refreshing seeing people approach the lack of "cutting" corners approach I have been doing with these camera comparisons for years now.
Glad the algorithm is showing some love and especially you all as my viewers. Salute 🫡
@@LoverOfTech Agreed. There is definitely a place for longform for those that want to give and see more than just headlines. Good luck with the channel!
Great video! I love when it's done like this so you get a real good comparison. I've ordered the Pixel 8 already and I'll be happy with the camera. All 3 are great and I would be happy with anyone of them. Some do things better then the others but they are all great. I've never owned a Iphone, but all in all I like the camera the best on the Iphone.
Really good video. What these types of vids miss out is how blurry the S23 pics are when people are moving. Iphone and Pixel don't have this problem but this is a big problem on the S23.
Yeah but you can tweak the settings to get a faster shutter speed but lose some post processing
Yes I would love to see him recording in a buddy city like a vlog or something it would have shown their true quality when used properly
@@blueberrySheikh don't you have to install a separate app to do that?
@@kashattack it's an official app of samsung called Camera assistant which is integrated in the UI of camera itself
First time I've seen one of your reviews this is great work follower for life very well done 👍
Thank you 👏🏿
does pixel 8 support autofocus in a wide angle for video, can you record macro in this mode
Just tried it and it looks to be working in video mode
🤜🏿🤛🏿
This is super thorough! Well done! I very much appreciate the longer video shots side by side. It really shows what people mean by the quality consistency with iPhone videos. If I could only choose one phone for videos, it would be the iPhone. The Samsung has the capacity for that wow factor, but it's not quite as consistent. The Pixel video quality is definitely improved. I have the Pixel, and I'll be totally happy with the videos I get.
With the pictures, it's fluid around. I think the Pixel is just the best and most consistent. Samsung flashes greatness. And iPhone is hits the "can be totally happy" mark.
Low light pictures are just not my thing. I don't care how "good" they get, I'm probably just not taking those pics with any kind of regularity.
Real one 💪🏿
Thank you so much!!
🤜🤛
Thanks for this video. Rocking a Pixel 6 now and thinking about to switch to Pixel 8 or iPhone 15. I think i'm going with iPhone this time, apart from the night portraits it looks more solid to me.
I'm also going from pixel 6 to iPhone 15 tired of heating issues and bugs in pixel's phones
I mean the comparison is really informative and good job on that. Pixel selfie video is very good. I think sometimes the pixel colors are not that good hope they improve that.
Such an imprssive comparision man, well done. Great job.
Thanks man 😊
Just ordered the regular Pixel 8 256 Gigs Hazel colour.....switching from my Galaxy Flip 4 since the folding mechanism is starting to malfunction....my first pixel device....fingers crossed...
Great effort.. Thanks
Great channel! Is there any way you could do a few photos of the S23 without the "Scene Optimizer" mode? I've read where it makes the pics more natural and less artificial and washed out. I'm wondering how those photos would compare against the iPhone and Pixel.
Maybe I will do a short form video on it
@@LoverOfTech That would be great if you could. I haven't found anyone else that has done it. Thanks for the reply!
Bro what camera did u use filming your self on youtube? Nice and crisp video
Sony A7S3
Appreciate the base models Ben!
Thanks man🙏🏿
Thank you for this! Switched to iPhone with the 13 and i CANNOT wait for my contract to end lol
Systematic approach, attention to detail, and thorough, informative analysis, useful! 👌
Thank you 😊
*Google needs to fix it's portrait mode.* Its been broken for ages now.
Iphones are great in photos and Night-mode now and are already at the top in stabilization, videos and cinematic blur.
If Apple fixes iPhone's low-light selfies, portraits etc it'll get tough for Androids to compete. It's great to see immense improvements on Pixel when it comes to videos.
Btw, the HDR in low-light videos is completely absent on Android devices for some odd reason unlike the Iphones. *Overall, Pixel and Samsung still are ahead of Apple when it comes to photos.*
Cheers 🥂
🤜🤛 very descriptive video. I feel you always have to compromise in something when picking a phone. I thought the pixel 8 was going to be enough but now I feel is lacking the zoom capabilities for portrait and better long distance shots.
Couldn't have said it better for real 👏🏿
Amazing indepth review,much appreciated 👍🏻
Thanks for watching 👏🏿
Hi. You made a very informative video. Thanks
Thanks for supporting 🙏🏿
Amazing video man! Keep it up👌
Thank you for supporting 🤝🏿
Amazing review, thank you.
Thank you
Awesome comparison, though you make it even harder for me to decide between s23 and pixel 8
As a pixel 8bowner I suggest you to buy s23 as p8 ha network issues and it did hang for a couple of seconds during medium tasks. But if buying for camera p8 is just better than S23 but limits to only 8x. Choose accordingly
great comparison & presentation.... on a scale of 1-10.. how you will mark these phone's cameras? selfie vdo & pic and rear cam vdo & pic..!
I wouldn't really mark them as such, all my conclusions are at the end and throughout the video, and you have to remember it's mostly subjective and only few cases where it is objective
I wish pixel had the video blur on the selfie camera and also the possibility to switch cameras and the blur/unblur option like Samsung. It would be unbeatable. Thanks for the in-depth review!
Likewise thanks for watching 👏🏿
great work man ... thank u
Thanks for watching
Thank you very much for such a detailed video ❤
My pleasure 😊
Which one takes the sharpest photos even after zooming IPhone15 or, Pixel 8 ??? ( IPhone supports for super-high-resolution photos (24MP and 48MP).... and which one is the great pick overall ????? I'm currently using S21 FE ( EXYNOS VERSION) in india 🇮🇳.
solid comparison Ben!
Thanks Mike 🙏🏿
damn as a photo editor i can confirmed that pixel 8 has improved and most scenes is much better than the other two phone
🤜🤛 Solid review
I did not expect to watch the whole 40 minutes but I did anyway 🤜🤛 and this was arguably the best comparison I’ve on the entire platform. If you could please include how much storage photos and videos take that would be amazing.
Thanks for the high praise and support
Good review brother 💯💯💯
I want samsung.. but still thinking for pixel 8 or honor magic 5 pro... Not sure which one should i buy ...i like iphone colour for camera.. others is good.. but i more like iphone.. but i will not take iphone.. im not familiar to use.. never use iphone.. herm... 🤜 great comparison Ben!

Excellent comparison !!!
Appreciate it🙏🏿✌🏿
I appreciate the base model review awesome vid 👌
Finally pixel upgraded front cam, iphone still the best in video and samsung held up, I purposefully waited on pixel 8 and iphone 15 launch(both base models), before upgrading, I'm also considering the performance and display not just the camera cuz I play some games, thought base iphones gonna have 120hz and pixel will atleast have a chip that is equal to 8+ gen 1(yeah there are gaming phones but camera was meh, I also like these phone sizes) I'm coming from an old pixel device too ashamed to say it but its the 2xl. Thats why before this video I'm still choosing between pixel 8 and s23, pixel 8 price was close to 900USD pre-order in my country and I could get the s23 256gb at 600USD
Now its the greatest base model samsung has ever made and will still be, cuz s24 base will have exynos (seems samsung is becoming like Apple keeping the best ones on ultra)
I'm getting the s23 this week
Thanks man I just subscribed, hope you keep uploading more of this comparison💪
Thanks for the sub and yes I am doubling down and doing more of them and so long as you all watch and support, I'll keep doing them especially to this level
Incredibly thorough review 🎉
Thank you 😊
you are amazing bro.. just what i wanted to know. I already have the S23 and was thinking should I invest on the 15 for my work needs.. or go with the pixel!
Glad the video helped
For Vlogging can i fully trust on Pixel 7?? Pls reply.
Watch this and judge for yourself.

On Iphone daytime photo the grass are over coloured or have too much saturation (main, selfie and ultrawide). Grass looks really unnatural. For me it greatly distorts the perception of the photo.
2 days and two big comparisons. Amazing man! Thx for doing this. I'm guessing 15 plus will be exactly the same as regular 15?
iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 are exactly the same
@@LoverOfTech Then I guess 15 plus it the choice this year. Camera ofc feels worse, but it has much more to offer for the money.

I’m a new fan now from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Welcome to the Tech Lover Squad🙏🏿
Im getting the pixel 8, the s23 ultra is fantastic but its so damn impractical carrying around!
The whole thing about macro mode is a bit silly tbh, it should be in all the phones. It isn't anything special, it is literally just using the ultrawide camera (which has a closer focusing distance) and cropping it. You can also do this yourself of course.
No one talks about the issue with galaxy 4k60fps but as a s22 user, I can confirm that it's so annoying 😅. Thank you for the detailed review!
Haha thanks for watching
Stabilization is what really matters to me overall when it comes to video. S23 fails miserably on the selfie. Other than that, they all seem to be performing decently. This will save me the luggage and money from buying a gimbal.
this is the most clear camera comparison video, i love it.
Thanks man 👏🏿
Damn broo u just destroyed any other youtube with this in detailed explanation , yet to the point , cant describe makes more lenghty sentences simply superb flawless damn broo damnn... thanks🎉 for such an elaboration kudos . U just saved me a lot of money 😅

Appreciate it ❤

Which one should i get? Please suggest
That's up to you
Take aways:
In general, depending on the mode - there are NO clear winners. The only question I have, which only Lover could answer... Many times, I see more green from iphone 15 and S23 with rear cameras. Are those more accurate? I think not, as I do see a lot of greens and some brown leaves in trees on the Pixel 8... and those brown leaves are greenish on the other two phones. To me, I'd rather have color accuracy. So in general, the iPhone 15 and P8 is still better in the color, especially with dark skin tones. (Lover look's washed out and flat on the S23 most of the time)
In image stabilization: In the past, Pixel 4~7 the Pixel was usually on top in this area. Today, the Pixel 8 is not as good as the other two phones. It's still quite good, but it's the weakest of the 3.
Sharpness: Depending on modes, The P8 isn't constantly winning here. Sometimes its bad, sometimes is better than the other two. Also, P8's 4K video looked sharper than the S23's 8K video - more times than not. Looking at leaves on the sidewalk.
Night Vision: Iphone 15 and P8 battle the most here. No clear winner, other than the S23 is the weakest.
I recommend a 3-Way comparison between the P8, P7 and P5. This could be helpful to people who own older pixel phones.
I don't think there's much difference between the P6 and P5, other than it has the telephoto lens. Goggle use the same main lens between the Pixel 3~6 if I remember correctly.
There are reports that Google is STILL working on the software for the P8Pro's cameras, which may also effect the P8. There are complaints with artifacts, poor night vision, and other issues.
So 30~60 days from now, those cameras could be a lot better.
IMHO, I'm not impressed with the P8. The phones cost more and we get nothing. I can easily upgrade my P7 to the P8 with only the $100 difference in price. But even if the P8 was the same $600USD, I don't think it would be worth the hassle. Besides, not being in a color I like. To show how picky I am about cameras. I had a choice of a $450 P7A or $600 P7. The cameras are cheap on the 7A. For most people, the 7A is great for the price and the photo quality is negligible. It was a bit of a decision between the two.
Think I'll wait for the P9 or P10. I would still like a future Pixel Pro model with 3 cameras.
21:36 too much noise on Pixel 8, and blurry 2X. The S23 disappointed me, the selfie camera burns the sky, bad dynamic range. Congrats btw, you did an amazing work.
Dang!!! The 3x digital zoom of iPhone 15 on videos is really on optical level. Pixel does some oversharpening.
It will be nice ro have u go to the city when shooting camera comparison, u get better landscape and architecture, which will have so much amazing views.
