Really loving this series. Its raw and neatly presented. Its nice to see everyone putting in effort too, thanks man 👍
No problems at all and thanks for the feedback. I wanted to take a different approach with the production of this project. Aiming for Raw with less Hollywood to be more transparent about what it’s like to serve.
@@Rangermedia Yes that's what I want, an insight to the tests, clearly outlined and spoken concisely with no Hollywood. To see the lads get stuck in is a bonus, and to get it in a tidy video is just so refreshing. So much of the Army videos are just a bit polished for me, as we all secretly know the training is hard. So it's nice to see the boys puking, tripping, lung busting and giving it heaps. This is what will spark the young infanteers - a visible and impossible challenge 💪
@@tubefreakmuvais irish helping britain? Or the other one
@@Rangermedia are you helping britain
@Sinedits555 Royal Irish Regiment, it’s a British Army Infantry Regiment mate.
Thank you for posting these. Bringing back some lovely memories of the brecon beacons!!
Stay tuned as the majority of the course is conducted in Sennybridge.
That's why my knees are knackered and of course playing rugby front row.!! 65 this year, 40 years ago...make sure the lads look after their ankles , knees & legs are looked after, .. Enjoy BRECON great fun but tough.Good luck to you all.
Thanks! Yeah I do think strength and conditioning is now a big part of PT before all these events etc that should hopefully combat a lot of long term use injuries similar to what you have experienced. Yeah Brecon was good and January weather didn’t disappoint lol.
Great experience and always look back on great times @@Rangermedia
Great video, please keep them coming 👍
Brecon 2 miler springs to mind, well done guys keep going.
Been tuning in 3 years now, always good and turns up the heat as proven when you're donning that cap badge.
Keep it going lads all the hard work is starting to pay off I remember ICFT back in my day were tough so looking good chaps keep your powder dry and go to it!
Well presented. Raw. Eloquently put.....good stuff..the 2 mile ICFT is NOT EASY....
Thanks, appreciated.
Started my rejoiners application in December should be back in next 6-8 weeks I can’t wait 👌🏾
Keep’er lit! Great stuff!
Really good content..
Ooo I miss doing that in my old unit
Nice work showing this. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this series.
Question for ya... Have you had shoulder/arm pockets tailored on to your shirt? If so great idea! Im guessing you prefer to wear a shirt over a ubac ?
Glad you like it, yeah I had them tailored during OP TORAL. This is an old style shirt which I wish they still made. It’s when MTP first came out. UbACS are still good especially when your in body armour for long periods in hot climates. I would prefer UBACS then. Less prickly heat
@@Rangermedia Im sure you can still get them from the stores unless it's a slightly different design.
In fact I swear I wear the same shirt.
Prickly heat is horrible :(
03:19 that hand tattoo is honking hahah
Do reservists have the opportunity to do the ranger cadre?
If they could get them time off work (civi job) I don’t see why not.
@@Rangermedia happy days, been looking into 2RI and would love the opportunity
Really enjoying the recent videos. Now that RIR has rejoined 16th Air Assault, I was wondering do you all have to be restrained for Parachute training? Do you all have to do P company or is it just the Parachute Regiment?
16 Air assault is the largest brigade in the army.
So no Parachuting and P coy is not required for all. (sad reality is, currently even the Paras struggle to get all their guys para trained)
Glad you like them. In short no, the role within the Brigade is not to parachute that is 2&3Paras role along with the other enablers. As 1 of the 3 Infantry Regiments in there, we are a recce based battalion with vehicles. With Gurkhas being Air Assault.
This course is designed to better prepare and increase physical standards along with field skills. Catterick will punch recruits out at a basic level, so more training needs to be conducted to meet 16 brigade standards.
Thanks for clearing that up! But as I say really enjoying the raw videos. Hope you've a good time in Wales
16.29 for 2 miles is impressive!
Most guys at 16 AA bde are expected around 16 min mark for the ICFT especially on a flat circuit
I spent a lot of time in brecon in the 80s when i was a para
I heard you were a blanket counter in the RLC
Will any of these lads be going on any operations regarding current politics or are they ‘safe’ so to say?
Most will deploy this year on two different operations in separate parts of the world.
Scrap the current WOK recruiting media. Lets have more of this realism for recruitment. Brilliant content.
Are you lads going to Para trained as well .?
I thought the Royal Irish Rangers was disbanded some years ago, or are these soldiers training for the new Armies Ranger Battalions?
Royal Irish Regiment - 1st Battalion (Regular). Rank of Ranger which was taken on when the Irish Rangers merged to become the Royal Irish Regiment.
They're training to meet the requirements to serve as part of 16AABCT.
I served with Royal IRISH after amalgamation in '92 before being sent to Cyprus for a 3 year posting. We were 16 Air assault brigade then hence Para's being sent over to Us and exercises in Egpyt, Italy , Sardinia and Jordan. ..hence low altitude drops when things went wrong, SF platoon had to medical x and recover😞 I'm I wrong🙄 plus had tu RTU Para's from eposkoi after a few days in Cyprus because it kicked of in limosol 🙄...just saying, please correct if I'm wrong...F.A.B.....Go Rangers👍
Stop talking shite
You walk you fail 😂
You know it 😂
The amout of unscrimmed lids is giving me the creeps!
Goodstuff
When talking about U.K. Irish Rangers, how do you stop confusion with Irish Republic Rangers ?
Eh,Brits have Royal in front, most are Northern prods as well.

Fantastic Regiment. ❤ But typical British Army the DS /PTI s run with the lads but don’t carry the weapon/ or wears the helmets . Yes they did it way back when ? Let’s hope there Bergens weight more then the lads .
DS don’t wear helmets or carry weapons to be distinguishable from students on course. We arnt there to compete but to watch both as safety and the ability to feed into to reports.

Too much running in boots
Not bad for 35. You've no kit on .
