Joe White & Chuck - My Love For You - Doctor Bird

A few mild surface blemishes, but as you can hear from this raw,naive Jamaican SKA groove both sides loud, clean & clear.
Labels have light, almost insignificant name on label.
Here is another of Earl White’s Doctor Bird releases again with Baba Brooks Band on the flipside. Joe White was certainly an accomplished artist, but sadly lived slightly in the shadows of his former group members Ken Boothe, Roy Shirley, even though Earl had an ease of vocal, perfect for the mid-paced Jamaican 60s creations, as he so consummately displays on this song.
Flip it over and Baba Brooks fabulous SKA instrumental, with Baba and the gang very cleverly drawing from a past era of Swing. Injecting punchy SKA rhythms in the saxophone “two-step” lead… good stuff.. then again it’s that Doctor Bird label.. we’ve grown to expect good things from.
