For anyone who was having trouble like me with getting this to work. I selected the text box, went to "object" in the menu, went to "text frame options" and unchecked the "ignore text wrap" box. From there it seemed to work like a charm. Hope this helps someone :)
Nice short tutorial. Thanks Angelo.
Simple and straight to the point. Thanks so much!!
Nice feature!
You're always great explaining were we can get the things if we don't have them on the side, thank you :)
Another great tutorial!
Thanks for the overview!
Awesome!! Thank you.
Nice feature, thank you so much
Thank you Angelo.Brilliant I have been struggling with irregular text wrapping but this AI Select option has worked for me. I had a plain background which you suggest is a help but as AI progresses no doubt there will be a version which talks to the designer and responds accordingly! I have subscribed to se what else you come up with as a form of pure genius.
I really appreciate that Paul. Thank you for subscribing and I am I glad you're here to learn more! 🙂

Hi. Is there maybe a possibility to wrap the text around (the other a little bit bigger) text? Not talking about wrapping around the text box, but around the shape of the (bigger) text letters?
I tried that by converting the large text to object and it works. However I heard that printing houses do not recommend converting text to objects.
This is why I would like to wrap text around text ('s shapes). Any ideas what to do?
Thank you.
would be nice to say how you adjust the picture into the frame
OMG SLAYYYY
thx
But how do I undo the action if I delete what I did and want to put a new text is swallowed up inside me inside the page how to undo?
Hi I have a problem in InDesign when I type something on the text it disappears and to show it I choose to ignore text wrap but my assignment includes text wrap Do you know how to solve this problem
Wow
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍

if dont have select subject, what would i choose?
Hi Sarah, if it's a clipping path, choose Alpha Channel and in the Contour Options choose Same as Clipping. The Detects Edges option isn't as great as Select Subject but you can try that too. All the best.
SLAAAAAY
so it wraps around the main object but the background of the original remains visible. can you hide that?
No the idea with Subject Aware is it detects the subject in the image. If you want to remove the background in Ps. If it's a simple and clean background that you want to remove, you could try using the Clipping Path technique in InDesign. I go over that in this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/z8iHu4ruXn8/v-deo.html
It doesnt do that
In fact it only ever detects the outside square of the image //// the borders of the image //// the dropbox of it //// the stuff you can drag to change its size, it doesn't actually use the real picture and I have no idea how to actually make it fuck off of the square shape and use the actual picture it is in, I reselected it thousands of times with different tools and over different commands but it just doesn't want to wrap around it, doesn't matter the picture, its contents or whatever it just doesn't work.
It worked for a picture before but it just doesn't want to do it again, InDesign is so extremely horrible to work with it hurts.
had same issue but worked when i chose to "select subject"
hi how come my contour options are greyed out? I cant select it?
Ensure you have the image selected when applying the text wrap settings. You will see Contour Options available.
Handy
I WANT TO FIND IT, i KNOW HOW TO USE IT, BUT I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE IS IT?
Hey there. Window > Text Wrap to open the Text Wrap panel.
it doesnt work
Your image may be in the front. Send it behind the text frame so the text wraps.
I noticed that I have to select the picture without the text for the type : select object to appear.
Thank you so much!!!
